Hi gang,

It's that time of year again.May will be here before you know it.If you have a local Arthritis walk nearby they are taking registrations and don't forget Juvenile Arthritis Awareness week in March.

Our county is having it's first ever walk and the chairman has a 10yr old systemic son so I sent an e-mail to the Nashville chapter giving a short history of and giving permission for young Garrets parants to contact me about joining their team.Ever since I found out our chairman had a child with arthritis I have felt like this is THE year that people WILL learn Kids Get Arthritis TOO! I have been asked to be a chair member and they are giving me the resources to get the schools and pediatrician offices involved which is something I asked about.Fundraising and education.I have also been asked to join the AJAO chair.I feel truely honered.I never thought one simple e-mail would have such a powerful impact.

I am so shy and quiet that I don't know if I am cut out for this so please send your positive vibes,I don't need e-mails I will feel it in my heart.I need to be strong and brave and remember I am not begging but advocating for all our fighters. The worst thing that can happen is companies and buisinesses say NO.

Any ideas, thoughts or tips would be apreciated though.

Love and Hugs

I too am very excited for the Arthritis walk. In the last three years I have done several walks on behalf of various disease...especially cancer.. but for the first time I will be walking for me.. I am so excited!! My mom thinks the team name should be walking for .. we are going to make t-shirts with my picture on it.. and on the back the statistic for how many kids are affected with JRA.. And then on my shirt its going to say I'm .. and then my diagnosis with the statistic on it.. we thought that would be pretty cool... Our goal is to raise $1000. Sending you a bunch of positive vibes.. Lets all work to not only make this the best Arthritis walk ever.. but the only that really puts JRA into the spotlight.. A cure will be found.. :)
