Guest guest
Hi, Bee. I haven't posted since last September. Since then I've had four kidney surgeries for bacterial stone removal, a blood transfusion, and 5 1/2 weeks of IV antibiotics. I've been trying to get my strength back for eight months since the surgeries. In April and May, I tried IV chelations to help with heavy metals since I had such severe joint pain. I think it affected my thyroid, though, and I still have joint pain. My TSH in February (prior to chelations) was 3.5; now it's 6.799 and my Red Blood Cells are out of range on the low side as well as the (HCT) hematocrit. And no surprise that my cortisol levels are low. I also had ANA screening, which show abnormal for rheumatoid. (Don't really understand all of this.) Anyway, my doctor wants me on Synthroid. I've heard that Armour is a natural form and usually relieves symptoms better. But I'm wondering if I should take anything at all and hope that my TSH level will go down to a 1 or 2 eventually some day. I've been on the candida diet since July 2008, but the lowest I've seen my TSH was 2.0 in Oct. 2008. For some reason, even though all the bacteria has supposedly been removed and I've stuck to the diet, my thyroid is getting worse. So my questions are: Should I take Armour? And once I'm on Armour, is it possible to go off? Should I take something like Iodoral or Lugol's iodine? or should I not take anything except for CLO, coconut oil, and sea salt and hope that eventually I'll get my thyroid back and red blood cells back within range? I am so tired of dragging this body around, but I'm also afraid of following a doctor's advice and making things worse. Thanks so much for your help! My goodness you have really had a rough time of it, eh? > > So my questions are: > Should I take Armour? > And once I'm on Armour, is it possible to go off? +++If you aren't on thyroid meds now, I don't think you should start on them now. The reason is because thyroid meds do not treat the " cause. " You've had a lot of toxins since 2008 which have stressed out your adrenals even more than they were previously. When the adrenals are stressed they cannot handle thyroid hormones so the thyroid automatically lowers its output to protect the adrenals. +++This program will normalize your adrenals and thyroid and you don't want to be taking meds when that happens. That's how I lost my thyroid in 1987 since I was still on meds and taking Lugol's iodine and didn't know my thyroid would normalize. So my thyroid went into a tizzy from low to high which was serious Grave's Disease. I didn't know any better and was scared so I allowed them to zap my thyroid with radioactive iodine. > Should I take something like Iodoral or Lugol's iodine? > or should I not take anything except for CLO, coconut oil, and sea salt and hope that eventually I'll get my thyroid back and red blood cells back within range? +++You get plenty of iodine on this program since it is only required in trace amounts. Ensure you are having 1 1/2 teaspoons of good ocean sea salt per day, along with the diet and supplements. The sea salt is very important for the adrenals and it also provides iodine. I wish you the very best. Bee
Guest guest
Thanks so much for your advice, Bee. I'll stick to the diet and hope there will be improvement in my energy levels, eventually. I'm thinking that I should have another TSH and CBC done in about 4 weeks. Also, I've heard that Free T3, Free T4, Thyroid antibody and ferritin tests should be run. Is there a point where the TSH or anemia gets to a dangerous level and the candida diet is not enough? I sure don't want to have another blood transfusion. And tomorrow when I tell my endocrinologist that I'm not going to take any meds, he'll try to scare me into taking some. FYI: I posted my questions on another group a few days ago because I didn't want to bother you with my silly questions. But since my message has not gone through and you have a lot of knowledge and sound advice, I decided that it would be best to ask for your help, again. Always grateful, > +++If you aren't on thyroid meds now, I don't think you should start on them now. The reason is because thyroid meds do not treat the " cause. Guest guest
Hello , I see that Bee has addressed your questions about the thyroid, but I just wanted to reassure you that all of your iron levels will normalize on this program, without additional iron supplementation. Mine did, and my numbers were essentially in the toilet. My doctor had a small panic attack when he saw the report That's years ago now and I'm doing great. I think if you do this program your anemia will improve and disappear also, and you won't need another transfusion (great, huh?!). Guest guest
Thanks for giving me hope, andra. I needed that. Just got back from physical therapist, and he says I have arthritis in my knee. I'm 43 years old with a 5 year old boy to keep up with! I hope that will some how improve, eventually, too. Take care, > > Hello , > > I see that Bee has addressed your questions about the thyroid, but I just wanted to reassure you that all of your iron levels will normalize on this program, without additional iron supplementation. You don't need to be concerned about ferritin (iron) levels since it will normalize on this program without taking any extra iron supplements. That is because all minerals must have the proper balance of all fats and fat soluble nutrients in order for them to be absorbed and utilized. That's why it is common for a lot of people to have anemia. +++Your body is smart enough to balance out all of its nutrient levels once it is getting what it needs to do its job. Nature got it right, and God didn't make any stupid bodies. : ) +++I doubt that TSH levels will get dangerous since again your body is regulating it, in concert with your adrenals, so your adrenals are protected like they must be when they are overstressed. > > I sure don't want to have another blood transfusion. And tomorrow when I tell my endocrinologist that I'm not going to take any meds, he'll try to scare me into taking some. +++I advise you not to tell your endocrinologist, and don't go back. Guest guest
Hello , You're most welcome. " Arthritis " literally means " joint inflammation. " I have to think of what Dufty said in his book Sugar Blues about going to a doctor to have him give you a Latin name describing what you told him in English (or your native language). I'm sure you could have told him your knee was inflamed, LOL! See a good article here on the subject: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/arth1.php Oregano oil mixed with olive oil and massaged onto the joint helps alleviate pain and inflammation, by the way. A search on www.westonaprice.org turns up articles describing how cod liver oil is beneficial for arthritis - you might want to check that out also. You're in the right place! Sugar causes inflammation so this diet has you on a great path to eliminating your pain. Best, ndra group moderator > > Thanks for giving me hope, andra. > > I needed that.
