Subject: Seizures and Evening P Oil Question

HI:

I was looking at the Sara's diet for autism and it mentions that

Evening primrose oil should not be taken by people with epilepsy. Do

you know why? Is it true? I've been giving EPO to my son for the

Omega 6 in it.

Also, How do you handle B6 vitamin and epilepsy? The above diet

mentions that it causes or may cause " jerking " at a dose above 50mg.

My son tremors and jersks(controlled with meds).

Any input is appreciated because I do give these vitamins to Julio.

One more ?. Do any of you supplement with Coq10 or carnosine? Which

brands? My regular neuro told me I can give CQ10 50 or 100mg 2x per

day and Carnosine(prescription) 2x per day. Carnosine is EXpensive

with insurance ($78).

Has anyone heard about treating autism and jerks, seizures with a diet

based on blood type?

I'm full of questions today. Thanks a million in advance

Shirley

>>> My son gets fish oil for the EPA and DHA to grease his brain, very

helpful -- Omega 3. Most folks are deficient in omega-3s.

My son gets b-100 + B6, 100 mg three times a day. Magnesium is it's cofactor

and he gets about 800 mg of Mg in liquid form. Tremors and jerks gone.

Hi: Thanks for replying. What kind of Magnesium? I give Mag glycinate

and Malate but only about 300mg. Is the B6 that you give included in

the b100 or is it separate? Tremors and jerks gone? GREAT!! that's

what I want.

Thanks

Shirley

Roxanne,

Welcome to the group!!! There are many different causes of speech delay out

there, but it is good that you are on the ball and are getting help now!!!

Is your home bilingual? If so, it is perfectly natural for there to be a

delay. If not, it could be anything from hearing difficulties to speech

disorders to developmental delays to global learning deficits to being on

the autism spectrum. Step by Step should be able to do an initial evaluation

and point you in a good direction. If not, someone here or in your area will

be able to help. In the mean time, join in, learn all you can, and love the

dickens out of your son!!!

~hugs~
