Hi Lori,

I am a lurker not much of a poster, but I wanted to

encourage you to continue searching. My son is 103

days without a seizure. We almost lost him two times

to status epileptus. He would have noticeable

seizures every 14 to 21 days, and no doubt he was

having seizures all the time. He is on many

supplements now, and they seem to be helping him. We

are slowly titrating down his seizure meds. He was

having more seizures on the meds. I hope this helps.

Dawn,

What supplements do you have your son on. Is your son under the care of a

doctor who believes in supplements or did you decide to go at it on your own. I

am also planning on taking my daughter off of the meds and would like to know

what kind of supplements you're using that might be able to help us. Thank you!

Dear Grace,

I weaned my son off of meds myself over a period of about 1 and a half

years. They did not stop his seizures, so why keep him on them? They only

spaced him out. He is on cell salts, cod liver oil, MSM, which we just

started, and now I'm going to start him on some stuff to help keep him from

getting sick, such as garlic and olive leaf extract, etc. He still has his

seizures unfortunately, but at least he's off meds.

Lori,

I know it is difficult to understadn how one person with a brain injury can

not have seizures and how one that does or doesnt does. our son had MTS mesial

temporal sclerosis which resulted in him having seizures. some people we know

have normal mri's and they cant figure out why they have them but they do. Do

you know the reason why your son has CP. I think going to a epileptologist

might be helpful and if there is a genentic predispostion discuss that issue. i

dont think you are wrong for searching for answers . that is why we have done

what we have for our son.

Yes Lori,

My son I believe was injured by vaccines, fillings,

and whatever toxic load I gave him. We are currently

under the care of Dr. Cave in Baton Rouge.

Our first appointment she put us on a regimen of

supplements, including magnesium, amino acids,

glutothione cream, b-12 shots. Noah's seizures began

at 18mths. He had one status epileptus a year and

when he became ill he would have seizures. This is

the first 103 days that I have seen no signs of

seizures. My son went on seizure meds in 2003, which

followed with more and more because his seizures

became more regular and worse, this told me that what

we were giving him wasn't working. I continued

searching for answers(never, never give up). I am

fortunate that my son takes supplements, and that by

the grace of God I never gave up. We are going to

need to do alot more work but we are definitely on to

something. Please don't give up. My son was

diagnosed with a strange blood disorder at 8 mths,

seizures at 18 mths and autism at 5 1/2 years. The

neutropenia resolved at 3years and it has been 103

days since our last seizure. My son has some really

scewed mineral transport, no magnesium, problems with

absorption. We are also on houston enzymes. I hope

this helps. I have a copy of our entire supplement

schedule, let me know if you would like it?

Dawn,

Congratulations on 103 days seizure free! Would you mind sharing what tests the

Dr. used to determine which supplements your son needed?

Dawn,

Please print your son's supplement regime. I would like to read it too. My son

takes quite a bit as well.

Dear Dawn,

I sure would like it. God bless you. I'm hearing so much about magnesium.

Does anyone know the most easily assimilated form?

Thanks so much!

Dear Group,

I realize this is alot of info, we have slowly done

this and we are slowly coming off of Noah's seizure

meds as they did nothing for his seizures. He is 104

days without a seizure today. Watching my son on a

gurney fighting for his life has been my main life

focus and has encouraged me to continue looking. I am

still going through post traumatic stress and am

struggling to enjoy this time without seizures.

Don,

While liquid is certainly best, the best possible absorption rate from

pills is NOT 10-20% Don. Come on, I know your hawking your stuff but

some of your comments are ludicrous.

Also, I am astounded that you would hawk a product like BodyBalance that

contains neurotoxins like lead, arsenic, antimony, aluminum, and MERCURY

to say the least (all of this comes from your website

http://www.healthgotit.com/what-is-in-liquid-body-balance.htm ). Why in

God's name would anyone want to add this to their bodies??? In all my

years in the nutritional industry (since 1983), this is one of the worst

products I have seen.

Heavy metals like the ones in BodyBalance can cause seizures, can affect

cognitive function in both children and adults as well as serious health

problems. This is not a nutrient but a poison.

Disgusted,

Mark Schauss

Re: [ ] Success rate for anyone?

Lori it's LIQUID! The best possible absorption rate from pills is

between

10-20%! It's 98% with BodyBalance liquid. www.healthgotit.com

Dear Don,

I truly am not being sarcastic here. You seem to like this product a lot.

And I'm sure you'll understand my asking the following question, as I'm so

tired to people " selling " me stuff that they say will work, and I spend

money and it doesn't do anything. Do you sell this stuff or did you come

across it and it works for your child? I'm asking this in the sincerest

possible way. Please don't take offense. Also, what is in it and how did

it help for your particular situation?

Thank you!

Lori M.

Lori,

I would stay away from Don's products. In my 21 years in the

nutritional industry I have rarely seen a product as bad as this one.

If it has in it what they claim (and I seriously doubt it) its disposal

would need the EPA to step in as it is likely to be deemed toxic sludge.

There is no way on this earth that anyone should knowingly ingest

mercury, cadmium, lead, arsenic, aluminum or antimony through a

nutritional supplement. This product should be banned and pulled off

the market. And that is just the BodyBalance product. Some of the

others he touts are almost as bad.

The calcium product has the least absorbable form of calcium in calcium

carbonate. It also contains a cheap form of magnesium - in the form of

hydroxide. I know why they are selling it, money. Pure and simple.

Both their calcium and magnesium are the cheapest forms available and

are often times contaminated with heavy metals. The prices charged are

absolutely outrageous. I know how much the raw materials cost and the

prices they have listed are mind numbingly high.

What makes me very sad is that I did not look into these products when

Don first came on the list promoting them. I apologize for falling

asleep at the wheel here and hope no one purchased his stuff. I usually

don't get this riled up due to a product but this one deserves all of

our wrath's.

In health,

Mark Schauss

BTW please tell Juli that Apples do not contain arsenic (this is a

misconception), they actually contain cyanogenic glycosides or sugars that

release cyanide.
