Guest guest
Leighanne, With my son (who is also on the Spectrum) depakote was the cause of his aggression and self-injury. He was taking it for absence seizures. If you want more info I can give it later but I am rushed at the moment. Tell me what you want to know about our experience, if anything. Guest guest
Hello, My son has lennox gastaut syndrome, Its a severe seizure disorder with many types of seizures. He has had seizures where he would be in status once for three straight days. His eyes would be at one corner and slowly move to the other corner and then he would go limp like he had died. He has a lot of drop attacks...every muscle just colapses. he has seizures where his leg would go straight out ...he had a lot of head nods. Hes on nitrazepam and lamictal. Nitrazepam has been a miracle drug for him....Hes been on depakene, tegretol, acth, klonopin you name it hes been on it. The nitrazepam helps with one type of seizure and the lamictal helps with another type...He has had thousands of seizures in a day. they last for a few seconds then 3 minutes later he would have another. nitrazepma is not available in the US...Big pharma wasnt going to make BIG money on nitrazepam, so they cancelled the study and came out with Viagra! Now theres a drug that saves lives!
