Guest guest
I will be at the seminar in Las Vegas, and I am excited because it will be my first contact with any post-ops and Dr rutledge since my surgery 8/30/00. I will be 3 months post op from a tummy tuck and a face lift. I look better than I have in 20 years, if I do say so myself. Of course I am also echoing my wonderful husband of 35 years, he is so thrilled he can't contain his joy. He is so proud of me that he goes around showing people my before picture, and says how brave I am, it's kind of embarrassing. I am looking forward to finally meeting other MGBers, it's been kind of lonely out here in Ca. Guest guest
Hello everyone. December of last year I had a friend who came to stay with me and pointed out she had worked with Autistic children and she really thought I should look into it, I had a appt. with her neurologest in January at TCH and she basicly said how dare I try and Dx. my daughter at an early age. My daughter was 16 months old. I had always known something was wrong with her but couldn't penpoint it. The next day, I called herPCP and said I needed to look into this because I felt very strongly about it. I read as much as I could and push my way into the right places. I had when I got into the Meyer Center, that is when things started happening. We went and seen Dr. Pivalizza. She was waiting when we went back and did a test for Autism. Being that she was only 18 months at the time, she had to remove some of the testing. After she was done, we ended up with a 22 page Dx. That open doors to alot of things. I had been fightingSSI for over a year because the doctors couldn't Dx. her. With hers, I was able to go in front of the judge and he mad his decision in 10 minutes. What I am trying to say is. If you can't get the right answers, find them somewhere else. There is alot of people out there to help, you just have to keep looking. Thank you for your time, Pam

Guest guest
Mark, While your personal experience with sunrider obviously was great, their herbal products are not more concentrated than many other reputable brands on the market. You may want to argue this point but it is just their MLM marketing mantra and not a substantiated claim. To be honest with you, with some people, herbal detoxification may be highly deterimental and can cause a higher level of toxic damage than just leaving things alone. Most herbals increase phase one detoxification and do little or nothing for phase two. In the case of some petrochemicals such as toluene, stimulating the cytochrome P450 to start phase one detox can produce benzoate and methylbenzoate, both of which are highly undesirable and with the latter, may be more toxic than the toluene alone. You have to have the amino acid glycine to conjugate the benzoate/methylbenzoate in order to excrete in through the kidneys. If you do not get an adequate supply of glycine, which according to data I've seen, is a very common occurance, you can cause more seizure activity as it is neuroinhibitory. It is also critical in glutathione production, conversion to serine and then to other neurotransmitters, etc. The upshot of my comment is, while you may have had great success with sunrider, be aware that it is not a panacea and for some may do more damage than help. Hopefully my comments are taken in the manner in which they are presented, not inflammatory but informative. Guest guest
Anita - I regular put cocoa powder (unsweetened) in my soaps and never have any residue issues. It does want to clump a bit so best to mix really well with some soap in a bowl, then add back to the rest of your soap and mix really well. I use a whisk and/or my stick blender to make sure it really blends well. I add it at trace, the same time I add scents and any other colorants. BTW, I also use ground cinnamon (instead of cocoa) and it adds a really nice speckled color. Sounds like you just didn't get it mixed in well enough. I'm fairly dark skinned so I didn't really notice the chocolate bits until my fiancé, who is rather pale by comparison, noticed as he had a shower. Needless to say I began to notice too. Should I have added the Coco Powder into the oils instead of at trace? Your help is very very much appreciated, Natasha. I stirred the cocoa powder in at trace, put it in a mould, curred it for 6 weeks and I'm using the soap now. Whilst Showering and Bathing with the soap I've noticed that there were chocolate bits all over my body. Is this right or did I add the cocoa powder at the wrong stage? Please let me know as I would like to make a lotion bar too and don't know if the same thing will happen. Should I use cocoa powder again or real chocolate to make soap and lotion bars? When should the chocolate be added? Your assistance is much appreciated. Many thanks in advance for your help.
