The conventional wisdom was that the advantage of Tapazole over PTU (the

other anti-thyroid drug) was that it could be taken only once a day rather

than 3 times a day. However, a new study (sorry I don't have a url for you

but a google search should find it) recently showed that Tapazole, too, is

more effective in 3 divided doses, especially at the beginning of treatment

when you need to both lower blood levels of thyroid hormone and deplete

hormone stored in the thyroid.

Therefore, I would take it in 3, 10mg doses at least to start.
