Guest guest
There have been several post recently about wanting HBO treatments but not being able to finance them Here is an option that you may not know that seems to exist that allows you to finance the cost of treatment for upto 5 or 6 years if I remember correctly. It is through Captial One. I talked with Capital One on the phone, so I don't have any documentation to post. But their web site has some information and their is a phone number. However, initially Capital One did not have a clue on what I was talking about. So let me give you the background I think you will need to get the answers I was getting. Where you will end up is at: http://www.amerifee.com/cosmetic-surgery-financing/ This is Capital One. Basically, they are doing a signature loan. Basically, a credit card without the card. The rate is dependent on your credit history, amount needed and repayment period desired. I was told that it is not uncommon for them to try new programs in the cosmetic surgery section and that is where the HBO treatment program is located. The key for me getting any information from Capital One was knowing of an existing center that uses their program. I learned about Capital One's offer on the Rose Center web site. http://www.thejennyrosecenter.com/index-10.html In the center just under the weekly pay is a comment: Financing is also available for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. For easy secure approval visit www.cosmeticfeeplan.com Or call toll-free 24-hours 1-888-440-2375 This link takes to the first link. Now that you got that you have that background, let me explain some of the issues that I'm awared of. The HBO Centers must apply to Capital One first. OK Center owners here is something you can do to make HBO more affordable to those that need treatment. Apply to Capital One so that option is available. It would be nice to know from the Center owners point of view what the issues are. Basically, the centers need to get all the paper work in order. Capital One is going to send the money to the Center not to the patient. There was also an issue that from the time you apply until the one payment is made to the center is not suppose to exceed 60 days. Capital One said this is because cosmetic surgery is typically a one time treatment not a treatment spread out over 1 or 2 months. You could pre-pay the center. The person I talked with indicated that they might be additional flexibility but the person whose VM they gave me never called back so I don't know details. I did not follow up as financing is not an issue for me, as I have already done the HBO. Centers would want to do this as it make HBO more accessible and therefore more business. They will not want to do this because they lose 7.5% in service fees to Capital One. It is not legal for the Centers to charge the extra 7.5% to patients using the Capital One program. HOWEVER, it is ok for the centers to offer a cash discount. So centers raise you prices 8% if necessary and offer a 7.5% discount for cash. (i.e. $150 becomes $162 net after Capital One fee is $149.85.) So center's price is now $162 and offers a cash discount price of $150. I cannot get into the APR as the rates varied depending on amount of money, term, length of pay back, and individual's credit history. If I remember the rates were 8% to 15%. Although they indicated most were at the lower range. This is on top of the 7.5% one time fee, This increases the APR significantly. Once you get a center to apply and approved then you apply to Capital One through the center. I did send Rose Center an email and they are not really using the program. Although this was not said, I got the impression that they probably set it up for one person and know else knew to ask. Clearly, it would work for put pull cash out of the house, do a signature loan with a credit union and/or get an extra credit card or two and do cash advances or even charge the treatment. The Capital One program is an installment loan versus a revolving loan like credit cards. Maybe there is somene out there in the community that used or tired to use this program that can provide input. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, I believe you had spoken to my wife Elaine at our Center one day and you are correct about the cosmetic plan. We do make the information available to people who call the Center, for it is an option that can help out. If we knew about it when we where first doing HBOT for years ago I can't imagine how much we would still owe on it today LOL. I am reluctant to speak of the Center to much for the risk of sounding like we are soliciting and particularly with everything going on within this group these days. I believe my wife and I had done an intro to ourselves sometime ago, but I'm not sure, because we belong to a lot of other mailing list as well and it's hard to keep up. And we do not and will not hide who and what we are either. I know most can respect that more, for I also know I myself certainly respect a fair hand shake as well! Still, since you mentioned our Center here's the scoop right from the horses mouth so to speak: We have a beautiful little girl name that has had difficulties almost from birth. She is 11 years old now and has made tremendous progress not only from HBOT, but from a verity of therapies etc. One thing I can offer to this group immediately is do as much as you can for your children, for we know first hand how hard this life is! How expensive, Time consuming and we certainly know the never ending heart aches that thru out each and every day never leaves ones mind. People do not kill yourselves and beat yourselves up each and every day wishing, or think you could do more, or be better parents and such------do what you can for the people you love and when you can! and sometimes just have a little simply faith! We wanted to help others learn what we have struggled thru and found some answers to help and felt it was important to provide these services to our area. One can read more about on our site if interested. We are not rich and do not plan on being so! We have put up our life and life earnings for this Center. Elaine has left her former position with health insurance etc. as an assoc. teacher for special needs children to study hyperbarics and become a CHT prior to opening. I have a regular job for the most part and work down at the Center on weekends and when I can. Mostly I'm up in my home office working for the Center late at night as I am now. We do take Medicaid and other insurances, but it gets a little tricky. Here is what most people don't either know or won't tell parents about Centers excepting insurance and treating so called of label HBOT patients as well: As a owner of a Center you can not bill insurance companies a different price for the same service you provide to anyone else! It's called insurance fraud. If a Center can bill/charge insurance $200-$400+ per wound care patient they have little incentive to take up space in their chambers and charge less money to simply make less and have more people so to speak. This is mostly why Some places do not treat special needs children. Or in a like manner , Some Centers will not except insurance. We do treat wound care patients and if we are going to keep our prices low (and we do) we have to bill and except that same price from the insurance companies. Our treatment charge is much less then what is on our site up until March I think Elaine lowed it to 80 a treatment for over the Holiday season to help people out, so we even get less from insurance patient, for we all know they never pay the full amount. Not much when you must have Doctors on staff as we do when treating for wound care. Fortunately, we have space and the Doctors make their salary mostly from their own practices at the Center. Well there we have it--that's the scoop! hope I don't get a tongue lashing for this one! Sincerely to all, O The Rose Specialized Therapy Center.LLC [ ] Financing HBO treatments via Capital One. Guest guest
Great post. Looks like I got most of my information correct. I emailed with Elaine some time back. But what was missing then and here in this post that other centers would likely love to know is your experience with Captial One. My memory as a TBI victim isn't perfect but I believe Elaine indicated that not many patients use this option. Thast doesn't make sense based on what I've been reading in these post. I strongly believe that information is power. BTW, I hope you didn't mind me sharing the info. I assumed that it would be ok based on the reason thay you got into the industry and the fact that I refered the readers to your web site so they could see for themselves. There had been two postings one I sent privately and then other I decided it made more sense to share with all. Thanks for helping to educate the community. I hope we see postings soon from individuals that were able to use this information to obtain treatment that they otherwise couldn't afford. Also for the record I am not trying to promote Capital One but give people more options. I also suggested people to look into signature loans at credit unions and credit card offers. Good luck to all. oparker@... wrote: , I believe you had spoken to my wife Elaine at our Center one day and you are correct about the cosmetic plan. Guest guest
I'D SAY IT MIGHT BE BECAUSE THE COST IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITIVE FOR MOST! PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK AND LOW INCOME WILL NEVER GET CAPITAL ONE TO APPROVE THE INDEFFINATE BLANK CHECK YOU NEED TO HAVE WITH HBOT FOR A SERIOUS INJURY!LOOK AT THE NUMBERS OF TREATMENTS PEOPLE NEED TO GET RESULTS? THATS MY BEST GUESS.....? ........Count YOUR Blessings! For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us. And..... The task ahead of us is never as great as the power behind us. My success is measured by my willingness to keep trying. " - Anon. Marguerite... Guest guest
, Your memory serves you here. Many people have not used it yet, but we do make it available. Perhaps being a newer Center (open last winter) It hasn't had time to take hold? I suspect now that we have done this other places may catch on? [ ] Financing HBO treatments via Capital One.
