It would be most helpful to many of us if we could read if the Doctor's

positions in all the areas you mentioned. The Secretary of Health and Human

Services, former Governor of Wisconsin may possibly be a friend.

I have heard that Secretary(governor) is interested in HBOT and has

been recently briefed by some of ;our people.

From what you say, the Doctor must have strong convictions and a wealth of

experience. Do you have his e-mail address and we could encourage him to speak

: Perhaps there is some information posted on their website,

www.foxvalleywellnesscenter.com, with regard to their position on

treating with HBOT. I can say that Dr. Meress is relatively new to

HBOT for neurological conditions as his clinic/chamber opened just

last spring. However, he did work for a time in the ER at the one-

and-only hospital with a chamber in our area so he probably has

previous HBOT experience and he does have extensive experience in

other " alternative " treatments such as IV therapy and is a huge

proponent of homeopathic treatment options. When I toured his

clinic, I did mention to his marketing director that there is quite

an established pro-HBOT-for-neurological-conditions online community

and, in fact, I passed several of the list names (including this one)

along to them but am not sure if they have taken steps to join the

list and/or actively participate. They are not interested in

accepting Medicaid-reimbursed patients so this list would probably

not be of interest to them.

As for your comments regarding our *esteemed* former Governor and

current Secretary of HHS: It would surprise me if Secretary

supported HBOT as he is, IMO, not an out of the box thinker but,

OTOH, perhaps the evidence was so overwhelming that he couldn't help

but be convinced. Both his wife and his daughter have been/are

battling breast cancer and perhaps these brushes with mortality have

made him realize that the conventional medical community might not

have *all* the answers? It would certainly be a great thing to have

him on our side although rumor has it that he won't stay on if Bush

is re-elected.

Anyway, you are welcome to contact Dr. Meress via his website and

encourage him to more actively participate in this and other HBOT

lists. I'm sure he'd be a welcome addition.

Dr. Meress has joined our Roundtable discussion group and his clinic does

treat neurological injury. They are interested in helping to advance HBOT

for brain injury.

Egads, I should learn to keep my mouth shut or be more clear. I did

not mean to imply that Dr. Meress didn't treat neurological

conditions only that he just began doing so when his chamber opened

last spring. I am glad to hear that he has joined your group as I

know our area (NE Wisconsin) will greatly benefit from any

advancement that can be made with regard to HBOT for BI. It is also

my hope that he will be so inspired by the group that he will be

willing to participate in the fight in our area to get neurological

treatment covered by insurance and/or Medicaid.

Again, I was not attempting to speak for Dr. Meress, only pass on

what I know about him in case anyone is interested in his lecture or

his clinic. 'Nuf said?
