Patty, I did receive a copy of the e-mail that you sent to Darin with the subject line " SHAME ON YOU " , and must admit that both my husband Darin & I were totally appalled, and on many levels at that. Patty, when you stated to Darin that he has caused our family heartache, I was taken aback. Mainly because neither me or my husband has ever spoken with you personally. So my first question is how could you possibly know if this is true? Let me be absolutely clear, shout it out to the world for everyone that will read this e-mail....DARIN BRYANT HAS CAUSED THE FAMILY OF CHLOE KLUTTS NO HEARTACHE WHATSOEVER. Patty, what I would ask is that in the future you would refrain from making statements about what our family thinks or feels without speaking with us personally. I think the problem lies in the fact that you got your information from e, which I can assure you is different from getting it from us. What has caused Chloe's family heartache is that through all of this drama, Chloe's future treatments have been jeopardized over situations that have nothing to do with our family. Please understand, I am not trying to attack you, or anyone else. Its just that since Chloe was born, so many people have tried to be " our mouthpiece " . I just wish that before you decided to chastise Darin about the " heartache " he has caused us, you had checked with us first to make sure that this was the case. Please make no mistake, e has done so incredibly much for our family, and we will be eternally grateful. Had it not been for e, we would have never known about HBOT for Chloe in the first place. e worked extremely hard on trying to get Chloe treatment while she was still in the hospital. e was instrumental in setting us on the path for getting Chloe help. e also introduced us to Darin , whom offered to treat Chloe for the cost of the oxygen. SO, what must also be understood is that Darin has been just as instrumental in helping Chloe. He has graciously opened his home to us, unselfishly given his time, and made it financially possible for us to get the numerous HBOT treatments that Chloe so desperately needs. All of this done in the name of helping my baby girl. Darin has also guided us through many of the hurdles that come with raising a special needs child. Everything that we are dealing with, Darin has dealt with also. In fact, if it weren't for Darin 's knowledge, I would be losing my nursing right now. Darin told us a way to get Chloe off the MDCP waiting list (which is 5 years long) so that she will qualify for Medicaid and nursing benefits. This is huge for us. Lastly, let me for a moment address the comment of your e-mail about him " not having anyone to worry about like other parents " . Patty, this was perhaps the most insensitive, cold and callous thing that could be said to Darin . Let us not forget that he lost his only child, the love of his life merely 3 months ago. He is still grieving Katy's loss, and a comment like that must have been utterly devastating to him. You are correct by telling him that he does have to answer to God. We all do. And what appalls me is such a hateful and hurtful comment came from the mouth of a fellow Christian. & Darin Klutts Parents of Chloe Klutts P.S. This e-mail was not intended to add fuel to the fire, merely set the record straight about how we truly feel. Please feel free to distribute this as you see fit. The more people that get the facts from us, the better.
