Guest guest
Hello My Silicone Sisters... I need to find a Dr. in the Sacramento Area, just a Primary Care Dr. would be good. I am on Permament Disability, since 1994. I am on Secured Horizons Insurance Plan thru Medicare, and they arent excepting Secured Horizon anymore in my area, so Sacramento would be the next closest Place. First Let me share my story with you on what happened to me on Friday of Last week. I thought I found a Dr. When I went for my first visit. He asked me what I was in the office for. I explained to him that I needed to get established with a Dr. because I need medication to help my pain from Silicone Posioning. This Man shoock his head, and said " There is no Scientific Evidence that Silicone does any HARM! In the 2 year study that they did. And then I shoock my head, and told him. I was Implanted for 21 years and I dont care what that Scientific Evidence said about women who were implanted for 2 years. I explained to him I was DX with M.S. type symptoms in 1994 by means of a MRI and a Spinal Tap. And that I also have several herniated disks in my Neck.. C4, C5 and that my shoulders feel like they are going to come off at times because of the pain. Also I was diagnosed with Fybromyaliga. I also explained to him that I was explanted in 1994 and at the time of explantation I could only walk with a cane, 6 years later I dont need a cane, However my pain is managed now with the drugs, which also helps me to walk. He shoock his head again and said " Debe, Im sorry to say, but I cant take you on as a new Patient, because there is No way I am going to prescribe you with all that medication. Then the tears began to start. I looked at this Man, and said you mean to tell me you dont treat anyone with Chronic Pain? he shoock his head again and said No " So I walked out of the Drs. office, feeling very much like a Drug Addict. Even though this Dr. Did agree with me, that I needed to have these Drugs with all that I am dealing with. Talk about between a Rock and a Hard Place. He referred me to other Drs that might see me.. So I go home and get on the phone trying to find a Dr. (What a Joke) Some said yes we accept Secured Horizon Patients, and then I asked but do you accept patients with Chronic Pain. And every answer I got was NO.. Sooooooo My question for anyone that reads this.. Are any of you aware of any Drs in the Sacramento area who will accept patients with Chronic Pain, MS and Fybromyaliga that also believes that Silicone causes Pain and Harm to the Immune System? I feel like Im at my Wits end.. Maybe I should call my Attornies who are representing me with the MDL, they might know Dr.s that will accept me.. God Bless you all. Hi Debe, I am really sorry to hear of what you went through. That crap should never happen. Perhaps you could print off some of the studies we have posted and take them with you to these doctors, and also, Dr. Kolb's article called, " DR., Are You Listening? " , which is on her website and posted here as well. Sometimes they wave that off with the brush of their hands, but at least you are armed with something. I don't live in California, so I can't offer much in the way of concrete names for you, but how about alternative medicine doctors which are on your plan, who are also MD's or DO's? It is my understanding that while naturopathic physicians are not licensed in California, many of them practice under their current legal licenses of Osteopath or Medical Doctor. There is such a doctor here in Vegas, an MD who practices strictly homeopathic medicine. These doctors should be recognized on your insurance plan, AND should be able to prescribe your pain medicines for you. Most of these doctors do recognize that implanted women are ILL FROM their implants. Another avenue that you may want to look at if you cannot get the prescriptions you need is to buy them in Mexico, or through an on- line pharmacy. I myself have bought prescription drugs over the net, from off shore pharmacies very easily. I don't usually take pharmaceuticals, but have found it very satisfactory to buy them myself without having to deal with doctors when I have decided to take them. It avoids alot of hassle. There are several websites that will list alternative care doctors who are also MD's. I also have lists in several books in my library. I will try to post some sites...Dr. Weil's website used to have a " doctor locator " , but I didn't see it last time I visited his site. The other one that I am familiar with is the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM). Their site is at www.acam.org Here is what came up on that site for Sacramento: First Name: Last Name: Kwiker Title DO Address: 3301 Alta Arden; Suite 3 Sacramento, CA 95825 Phone: (916) 489-4400 Fax: (916) 489-1710 Email: Specialty A;CT;DIA;NT First Name: Giovanni Last Name: Morino Title DO Address: 3301 Alta Arden; #3 Sacramento, CA 95825 Phone: (916) 489-4400 Fax: (916) 489-1710 Email: Specialty CT;CD;DIA;FP;NT;OS I hope this helps you. I have found unfortunately, that dealing with traditional doctors regarding silicone illness is a waste of time, a rip-off of money, they are lacking understanding, can be verbally insulting or abusive, and generally clueless and unwilling to change their minds. For that reason, I do not recommend that anyone seeking help from implant associated illnesses just go blindly to the doctors on their plans. It takes effort to search the doctors out who are genuinely concerned, willing to help, and are rare jewels in the medical field. Alternative medicine doctors have almost always provided the needed care and concern. God bless you. Patty
