mercaptopur for liver disease?

Hi it's me again, Cyndi in Chicago, with a question regarding my Mom's care.

They are starting her on Mercaptopur for her AIH, and it seems scary. Anyone

else taken this for liver disease? She is on prednisone only now. And her counts

are good. Imuran made her sick/vomit. I guess if she doesn't have a bad reaction

to the Mercaptopur, they would take her off prednisone.

I just did a quick search and see it's been prescribed for cancer, Crohn's, but

isn't it unusual for AIH?

I am concerned.
