Guest guest
, Any number of things can trigger an autoimmune reaction. Drugs can be one of them. There is some literature out there regarding a link between drugs and aih. Theory is there is already a predisposition for autoimmune disorder and the drug is the trigger. In my case, we are fairly certain the antibiotic minocycline was the trigger ; there is another member here who has not posted in some time who also said that was the same drug that triggered hers. While waiting for an appt with my gastro 2 yrs ago, I read an article in Redbook about a woman who developed AIH after being on minocycline - her account of what happened was the same as mine - a mirror image. I also found some British medical articles linking this same drug not only to AIH but also to lupus. Several of my flares have followed antibiotic treatment for some acute illnesses. Hope that helps. nne > I am hoping someone out there can answer my question...Has aih been linked to > drug induced hepatitus ?
