Guest guest
The night at the varsity Wanda s had a sign up sheet for the Braves game this past Saturday. She had forty-three tickets part of the Braves " Be our guest for the day " . I wish you and your daughter could have been a part of this event it was a lot of fun for the kids. I will email you with any more info. Sorry you missed it this time. Is a sponsor for anyone with the Joints in Motion? P.S. The Braves lost. Guest guest
Jana, Why not try some push ups for the chest this next 4 weeks? I didn't do a push up until like challenge 4 and now I just love them! They go quick and *really* make you hurt! I can feel it not just in my chest but all down my torso and in my abs too. I remember when I first did them I felt like my uterus was going to fall out for a long time. I also like overhead dumbell extensions for my triceps. Good luck in the next 4 weeks! Park weekend Hi all, just a quick update so I can motivate myself, actually! I had an OK weekend. I had a wedding to go to Sat. so I had planned on using that as my 'free meal' (I usually have 2 of those instead of one whole free day). The buffet ended up being pretty healthy so I just had corn, chicken and some green beans (and a roll). Sunday I started great, but it was my daughter's 3rd birthday so I baked a cake. I had a piece of that and then we went out to dinner afterwards. I had a sirloin, baked potato, salad and a roll. Not too decadent, but I ate big portions. So now I'm sluggish today (weather doesn't help, egads) and trying to get going. I hope everyone is doing great, this is week 4 for me so I will be changing my entire workout next week. Anyone have any super challenging exercises I can try? Here is what I am doing now: UBWO Chest Flyes: 15lb,20lb,25lb,30,25lb Press: 25lb Shoulders: Front raises: 10,12,15,20,15 Shoulder press: 15lb Back: Reverse flyes: 10,12,15,20,15 Bent rows: 25lb Triceps: Pulldowns: 20,30,40,50,40 dips: 0 Biceps: EZbar curls: 8lbs(each side) 10, 13, 20, 13 concentration: 20 lb. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks a lot. Have a great day!!!

Guest guest
It was a good day yesterday Super Bowl and all and thank heavens it was a Free Day. Ha! Now I am starting Week 4 and hopefully things will go well. I am new to this group and I have enjoyed all the emails and advice everyone gives. I enjoy the BFL program immensly. I do the exercise great but I just sometimes screw up on eating. Not terribly but this weekend was probably my worst. Now if that peach pie would just disappear from yesterday. Ha! Not to be rude or anything or nosey but how old is everyone? I just turned 50. Is it harder when you are older to lose the fat? Pat
Guest guest
Thanks Park! I do like overhead tricep extensions, too. I think I will use those, but they are almost too much fun ! I might try doing push ups for my last set of 12, see if I can really push it. I *loathe* push ups, so all the more reason to do them! I was thinking of incorporating the lying overhead press, but I've heard more people using this for their back than their chest. Any info? > Jana, > Why not try some push ups for the chest this next 4 weeks? I didn't do a push up until like challenge 4 and now I just love them! They go quick and *really* make you hurt! Guest guest
Sounds like you had a good weekend, Jana! Don't sweat the birthday party/dinner out. Just a little blip on the radar! How about this for a new upper body workout (I'm feeling inspired tonight): Chest: Incline DB Press/Pushups Shoulders: Overhead DB Press/Lateral raises Back: Assisted Pullups/One-Arm Cable Rows Triceps: Overhead DB Extensions/Kickbacks Biceps: Alternating DB curls/Preacher Curls HTH, Maggie > Hi all, just a quick update so I can motivate myself, actually! Guest guest
I'll be 41 in March. I lost my 40th lb on my 40th birthday and have lost 37 more since then. I believe it does get harder to lose fat as we age, but it can be done as long as we are consistent. That's the name of the game! Guest guest
Dave, I attended the 100th anniversary of CFB Petawawa this Canada Day long weekend. Had a really good time and met up with a lot of old comrades that I haven't seen in years. The interesting part is - many of them served in Somalia and Afghanistan and are currently suffering from Reiter's like symptoms. I would love to follow them more closely in some sort of scientific study and see what develops down the road. Just some info I thought I would share. Regards, Bob Buist, Alberta. Guest guest
Hi Bob Have heard from some other vets of those deployments about many of the problems they are now having. It does bear keeping an eye on and I can almost guarantee that there are scientific investigations going on right now so they can figure a way to call it job related or not. Those many years ago for me it was a non compensational health problem not caused by my service. I think we all know now that much of it was service related. Agent Orange, Agent Purple, plus lots of other nasty stuff I have handled in the past.. Old Age Pension next year. The government sent me an ivitation to apply!!!!! I have copies of my medical records but nothing there to really pinpoint something that triggered the AS and other fine relatives of it. Radiation poisoning, Orange, Purple, DDT, PCB loaded transformer oil. The oil alone probably did something as I had my hands and arms up to my elbows in the stuff and even started siphoning the stuff out of the old XRay transformers. Petawawa, now that really brings back memories. Pub crawling on both sides of the Ottawa River. For those not knowledgable in Canadian areas, parts of the Ottawa River form the border between Ontario and Quebec. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! The good old days.......raiding farmers gardens when on manouvres and hard rations....lovely fresh veggies to eat with the issue corned beef. +Dave
Guest guest
Hi Bob Forgot this, we will be in Camrose for a family wedding on the weekend of August 5th - 7th. Hazel and I will be staying at the Marada Motel or whatever they call it. One of our deaconesses made it to Barrie, Ontario to begin their hollidays and I believe she was at the Live 8 Concert there. Talking about small world, got an email from a former schoolmate and fellow soldier two weeks ago. It came right out of mid air. I used to date his sister (back in the dark ages folks) and we must have bumped into each other on the net. He now lives in Nova Scotia and get this, his son and his son's family live in Medicine Hat. He is coming out this way this summer so we will probably get talking about the good old days. He joined the Armoured Corps about 3 years after I joined the medics. He was even under my command a couple of times. Blessings Dave

Guest guest
Very glad I’m not committed to a show this weekend. is in the hospital so we’re all discombobulated here. had diarrhea and was vomiting and the Dr. recommended he be admitted. Hoping he may come home late today or maybe tomorrow. So hard to catch the doctors on their rounds…. Our cats are just in a tizzy…..they miss and his treats. And I hate being here alone at night. Our backyard light is out because of the roofers (they also knocked out our satellite dish) and I hate coming home when it’s pitch black. I love the planning and even some of the work, but I hate the disruption and the time it takes. We just finished our bathroom--except for the floorboard molding. I'm just hoping it doesn't take dh years to do it! As if home improvements weren't enough, my family is working on our business building, stripping wallpaper, etc., to renovate it for our use.
