Guest guest
> , The Celexa made me tired but the Lex seems to give me some energy. Have got a lot done in 2 days time WITHOUT feeling like I needed a nap. It's too bad the drugs affect people in different ways. I we could all just suffer one side it would be great. But....guess God didn't want us all the same so we each have different situations to deal with. I guess I am just happy it's only the PMS I have to fight not something life threatening. So you are a teacher?? I have a cousin who is a teacher in Iowa. What grade do you teach?? I give you credit for being able to handle these kids these days, I really do. Keep in touch!! Guest guest
Shauna, I teach junior high, 7,8,9 History and Geography....love my work....maybe too much....the anxiety has been rough over the last 8 years....but last summer I made a decision that I couldnt do without meds anymore..... I couldnt tolerate Paxil....it nearly killed me...and I think the only way I survived getting used to celexa is I stayed in bed for three weeks and clung on to dear life to my lap top and the wonderful people who helped me through it.... it is a life support to be here and know that you are not alone in dealing witht the side effects of these meds...most people give up ...they cant handle the sides....but with encouragement I hung on...it took 3 months for me to feel better....two of those months I was at school barely surviving each day....so you see I am very cautious before I switch from C to Lex.... how much C were you on and for what, how long have you been on Lex? thank you for writing.... amanda >From: "Pikaboo1998" >Reply-Lexapro >Lexapro >Subject: Re: shauna >Date: Fri, 11 Oct 2002 15:06:19 -0000 > > > > > > >, >The Celexa made me tired but the Lex seems to give me some energy. >Have got a lot done in 2 days time WITHOUT feeling like I needed a >nap. >It's too bad the drugs affect people in different ways. Guest guest
> , I take the Lex for PMS. Actually started on Prozac a few years back first. Guess that pooped out on me so made the switch to Celexa 20 mg in June or July I think. It really didn't work great for me until about 2 months into it. Helped some to take the edge off but full effects took longer. I am hoping the Lexapro just kicks in quicker and has less sides. The worst one, as I mentioned, was the tiredness. I just can't stand feeling like that. Only my 3rd day on the Lexapro so too early to say how this will work for me. If not I will go back on the Celexa. I have noticed today I am tired again as the day goes on but may be due to all the yardwork I have been doing too. I hope so. Take care. Guest guest
Shauna, Believe me, I struggled with my dissertation. I often wonder if I exerbacated by liver failure as during my last semester I was so determined to finish the writing that I knew my enzymes we up (I'm sure everyone here knows the feeling) but I didn't go to the Dr. as I didn't want to go through another course of prednisone, I knew it would interfere with my ability to write the final chapters. Anyway, when it was over the Dr. told me it didn't really matter in the long run. My liver was done with after 15 years of on-and-off prednisone. Each course resolved the inflammation into scar tissue until that was all I had left. A ball of scar tissue. My PhD is in Public Administration with a specialization in Public Policy Analysis. I am a Professor of Occupational Therapy and went back to study for my PhD when I was 36, I was working full-time so coursework took me three years then the dissertation four more. And Shauna, it's worth every minute of it. Keep it up! The reason for my second transplant is that four years post-transplant I developed a lymphoma in my spine. The subsequent chemo & radiation required me to stop the prograf which is my primary immunosuppressant, I then developed chronic rejection. I got my second transplant in 2003. The second one is working like a charm. AIH didn't come back. Here I am with a life threatening disease and some days what bothers me the most are the sale clerks who ask me " How far along I am " because of my distended abdomen from the ascites. Pregnancy is not a good look when you can't accept the congratulations! Cece... I will write you directly as you suggest. I hope that you can be brave enough to bare your scar ... like the famous " Beauty Out of Damage " mastectomy photo. Patty... In what did you get your Ph.D.? I am definitely struggling with mine at the moment. I view it with considerable ambivalence. May I ask why you needed a second transplant? Did the AIH come back or were there other issues? Cora... I first started taking prednisone when I was 11 and took it through out my teenage years. If kids can be cruel about weight gain, puffiness etc., I expect that the adults are no better at times. Guest guest
GREAT news about Hadley!!! It is amazing that she started with a 74 degree curve!!!I clean 's brace once a month with alcohol, but he is only wearing it at night. Hadley sounds like her brace needs a good washing after playing. It is good to hear she is not letting the brace hold her back!As far as night bracing, I think that is case by case. did not benefit greatly from casting so I believe that is why he is STILL in a brace at night. Take care and I hope things go smoothly this week at home. TashaMommy of 5 year old twin boys- and Fort Worth, TexasSeries of 6 casts for 14 months. Brace 10 months 23hrs a day. Night bracing from July 08-present. is treated at Texas ish Rite Hospital. You can read 's story at....http://www.infantilescoliosis.org/stories.htmlFrom: srorabeck <srorabeck@...>infantile scoliosis treatment Sent: Sat, April 17, 2010 9:19:25 AMSubject: psa times Hi everybody, First of all just wanted to say I'm sorry for being so distant and not responding to many posts at all! I cant seem to keep up with life at home lately, which is why I havent been responding to any posts! I am trying to keep up and my prayers are with many of you! Just wanetd to let you know, i do care about you all and your issues and joys The other thing I was wondering if anybody knew the channels and any idea of times the PSA shows on tv. Our neighbor said she saw it on TV, but didnt know what channel. I just wanted to tell my family to keep their eyes open for it! Just to update you on Hadley, she is doing very well and is LOVING to be able to play in the dirt and sand already this year. And its great how washable her brace is! (I hope its ok I wet it to wash it). She is a little go getter, dare devil, dirt player! We have a follow up in July to see what her back does without the brace. So she will remove the brace a couple days before we go in. If all is well, Dr said we'll be out of the brace 4 months after that! He didnt mention a night brace?! Do we typically go into a night brace or could we be completely done with bracing at that point? I find that crazy since we started at 74 degrees 2 years ago, but hey, I'm not going to argue! I think thats all for now! Shauna
