I am just starting the insurance process to see if they will cover

Nina's band. I dread the process, although I have seen in one of

the appeal letters that my insurance co has paid for treatment in

the past. My question - for all of you who are being denied, are

you starting treatment paying out of pocket hoping to get

reimbursed? We all know the earlier the treatment, the better

and I personally would not wait for them to say yes, as I would

imagine the appeal process could take some time. However, it

seems like the insurance companies would certainly have less

incentive to pay knowing you are going ahead anyway and an

appeal could be futile. What have others of you done? Any

success getting approval after the band was on?
