Hi & Girlfriends,

My internist, who has treated about 2,000 BI women in the DFW area, does not

want women taking Ibuprofin, Acetamenafin, etc. because they do so much

damage to the liver. My Long-term Pain Management doctor is the same. --

due to severe liver damage. Vicodin & derivatives of other Rx drugs for

pain do not carry this potential side-effect. I would be on a morphine pump

before I would take all the OTC drugs, I was taking before I knew what was

causing all the pain. I don't want to ever have to face liver disease or

cancer, and I doubt that many of you do. However, Ibuprofine, etc. is not a

'natural' substitute for anything.

Hope this is helpful info!

Most sincerely,

MM / NSIF

Martha,

Not to argue with you but what do you think is in most vicodin?

Tylenol. So you need to check yourself on this one.

Just to add a few words to this, tylenol (acetaminophen)sp??? is one

of the worse things you can do to your liver and is worse than

Ibuprofen but the ibuprofen causes more stomach upset. Most vicodin

is 500mg tylenol and 5mg vicodin, or lortab is 7.5 vicodin and the

500 mg tylenol, the isssue for me is that it is very addicting and I

don't think that being addicted to drugs is something I need or want

in my life, it also makes me fatigued, spacey and takes away my

motivation, which I do not need. I also know I am suffering from

inflammation and the tylenol and vicodin do nothing but mask pain,

therefore not really treating it, I am not saying Ibuprofin is a

great thing to take either, and I am trying the natural stuff like

MSM and malic acid, glucosamine etc.....but when I am in allot of

pain I will take the ibuprofin and I am not against a vicodin now and

then, but when you are taking 10 or more a day I think that can be an

issue to look at. They are very addicting.

Well thats all I have to say on that subject.

THanks,
