==> Hi - although I haven't tried this mineral make-up, I've done months

of

research into various cosmetics, and in particular mineral make-ups. Jane

Iredale is the

one I would choose, *if* I could afford it.

Unfortunately, it's rather pricey, and I need to get ahead on my finances before

I can start

using it. I've tried many, many brands. I currently use ME from whole foods

for a powder

base, and I use aubrey organics silk finishing powder and blusher.

One thing to keep in mind though: inhaling mica is NOT a good idea. So I use a

pressed

version of the powder, and very minimal amounts of everything else applied with

a pad

rather than a brush.

Not sure whether there is any reason to think yeast would enjoy mica. It's a

mineral, so I

doubt it.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. What is ME? How much is a foundation from Jane Iredale?

They don't have the prices listed on their website...I would need to go to the

dermatologist's office to find out.

Thanks,

,

I love Jane Iredale makeup. It is my favorite so far and I have tried

about 4 or 5 different mineral makeup brands. I use the mineral

powder, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and the bronzer. The bronzer is

amazing! It has 4 different colors that I use as eye shadow. I have

never actually used it as a bronzer. It is expensive but worth it. It

lasts a really long time too. You can get good deals on Ebay too! The

salon I buy it at has 20% off twice a year so I try to buy it then.

Hi Teoma,

What brands of mineral makeup have you tried previously and why do you

prefer Jane Iredale? Is the " mineral powder " the foundation?

Thanks,

Thank you, Teoma. You said you have tried several mineral make-ups. Did you, by

any chance, try Everyday minerals? It seems they are good and also cheap.

Thanks again,

Sorry, I made a mistake. " MF " is what I have. Mineral Fusion. (Though it was

expensive

too! just not quite as bad.)

Jane Iredale, for pressed powder foundation I *think* it was about 45 dollars

for a compact

(plus shipping) while MF is around 32 at whole foods. Still outrageous.

ZuZu also makes pressed and loose mineral powder, and I use that on occasion

because

it's only around 15 dollars. But it's not as smooth as the others.

Sigh - I *will* get Jane Iredale one of these days.

Whichever one you do decide to try , make sure it doesn't have parabens in

it. I

returned $250 worth of Bare Minerals a couple of years back because they lied to

me and said

it was free of everything.

Then I got home and one of the pots listed methyl and poly- paraben as

ingredients. When I

returned them, they said, " Oh, well yes, the 'Mineral Veil' finishing powder has

them, but none

of the other powders do. "

,

My first try at mineral makeup was Sheer Cover, which is not the purest

by any means but better than what I had been using and it was years ago

when mineral makeup first started coming out. I tried Bare Essentials

too and did not like it at all. I didn't like the way it looked and

they are misleading about it being so pure. The others ones I tried...I

can't even remember their names honestly. They were just small

(natural) companies. They were okay and I would still be using them

probably except my mom introduced me to the Jane Iredale line and they

are so much better. The coverage the mineral powder provides is really

good. Smooth and beautiful. I use the Amazing Base Loose Minerals. The

mascara is great and I have tried so many different natural mascaras

too. For real though, the 24K Bronzer is my favorite product in the

entire line.

No I have not tried this brand but it looks really good and the prices

are amazing! If you try it, let me know how you like it. This is

defintely easier on the budget!

Regarding makeup:

Thanks for mentioning Everyday Minerals. I like their website.

Everyday Minerals is a more natural and safer makeup compared to

Jane Ireland. This is accoarding to the cosmeticsdatabase.com. You

may find others there that you like.

Thanks, Ellen " -)
