Guest guest
Some people, like myself, will never get over the sides that the tx caused but most do. My hvc has come back which I figured it would 6 months after they took me off the tx. I have opted not to do the tx again because from my experince it was worst that the Hep-c. About the working while on tx I found that I couldn't because of the sides. As far as your family is concerned they most likley don't have a clue as to what the tx does to you and your ability to do even the smallest task. Thank God I had 2 brothers that were very understanding and picked up my slack at work. I know it's tough but if you are this far along don't give up. I'll put you on my prayer list, and will be glad to answer any questions that you might have "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudlyProclaiming, WOW! What a ride!" Eddie Hinman

Guest guest
Actually, the plan for me is to start tx around the end of August. I found a study at the Texas Liver Coalition that starts August 29th. If I qualify (cholesterol and diabetes under control), then hopefully I will be able to join the study. If not, then I plan to go back to my GI and he will put me on tx then. Either way, sometime shortly after 8-29 I should start. At first, a wasn't looking forward to starting tx at all. Now, I am so READY. I am tired of hurting and never feeling good. I was really worried about not being able to wrk. Suzie gave me some good advice not long ago: "Just buck up and do it" I think I'll listen. I have to do what I have to do to get better. I am getting a better mental attitude about tx now. I believe that it will work, I can work, and life will be great. I also believe that it will be TERRIFIC after tx!! I will keep everyone posted on the news as it develops. Guest guest
A lot of people that have been on treatment have worked.Just try to plan your shots where you are off for a couple of days.If you work Mon to Friday then take your shot friday after supper or friday night, then by monday you will be ok.Your first shot will give you a reaction.I felt like someone stuck me in the fridge I was so so cold.So get a hot water bottle or heating pad and go to bed shortly after the shot to sleep through most of the sides.I was on the very old treatment of interferon x3 and riboveron and was sick all the time cause of three shots a wk.If I had one shot a wk I would have been ok.Plan to start on your time off and you will be able to work and learn to pace yourself now cause your not going to be able to do everything,so get your priorities in place now.Take care hon and we will help you through it. Trying to be good and kind cause I dislike mean people but find I just wanna be confortational at times ha. Thats what my honey tells me are you feeling confortational honey? That usually cracks me up and changes the meanie mood sometimes. Hate taking Imodium every week but can't stand running to the bathroom all the time and the stomach cramps ouch. Now when I blow my nose I get blood but could be from dry air right now, don't get bloody noses. Feel like I am falling apart and can't seem to control it very well right now. I only take 20 mg. of prozak so they will probably up the dose. Need something to give me some get up and go becoming quite the couch potato. Guest guest
Hi Pat, How bad are the bloody noses? Do you bruise easier now than before? If you do or even if you don't, it might be smart to ask your doctor to check your platelet count. I started getting the same thing a while back, when I blew my nose I got blood. I thought it was environmental too, then I started to bruise every time I gave myself my Insulin shots & found bruises that I couldn't explain - no memory of hurting myself, tripping or bumping into things - no reason for the bruising that I could think of . My doc did a complete blood count(CBC) & my platelets came back low. There's not much they can do about it except give a platelet transfusion but it's good to know. If your spleen is enlarged it can start destroying your platelets instead of destroying the other stuff - infectious bacteria etc - that it's supposed to so ask your doc. Hugs, SuZie & Sir SpYke the Soother - she's always worrying about people, get it checked & it'll calm her down a bit.patricia <pandas2@...> wrote: Now when I blow my nose I get blood but could be from dry air right now, don't get bloody noses. Guest guest
Hi Suzie, well seen the doc today and things haven't gone completely nuts with the labs lol. My red and white count have fallen pretty good so if another drop she will give me something for it. Its so wierd alot of my labs that were normal are now high and low readings. They will do another viral load next time, and she said to use some spray for my nose its just dry. Far as nausea and the like just keep putting up with it. Stomach sore cause liver abit swollen etc. Hasn't changed any meds as she said it usually gets better after the 8th week. Oh joy can't wait lol. Guest guest
Perhaps your M.D. could give you something to help you sleep. Or you could try a homeopathic Boiron product called "sleeplessness/restless sleep." Homeopathic products are extremely safe, yet they work. I've used this product for years, and it helps me a lot. Guest guest
, I'm with you, . I'm heading down to Stanford on Monday to see if Dr Coutre will find me eligible for his PCI trials. I have my doubts as my neuts seem stuck at 0.4. If this doesn't work out it may have to be Revlimid for me - assuming Celgene picks up the tab. We're still waiting to hear from them. But I'd rather do the PCI32765. Look forward to hearing your report. Hang in! Well, I decided that because I shouldn't have any problem with the fatigue, I'd stay over with my girlfriend. Wrong!!! It just didn't happen that fast.
