Guest guest
Do you listen to music while you do cardio? It really helps me. Try making a tape or CD (if you have a burner) of your favorite upbeat songs. They will motivate you and keep you going until the end. > I just can seem to muster up the energy to do my cardio. Guest guest
Cardio is my least favorite thing. I regularly miss a day. Once I get started it goes fast, but, man, some days it is HARD to get started. I listen to the news while I do it. Becky > I just can seem to muster up the energy to do my cardio. Any > suggestions? Guest guest
Hi Rosetta, Don't give up hope.Dakota is experiancing whats called steroid withdrawl. It is usualy at it's worst the 2nd and 3rd day after the taper.Try and wait it out for a few more days to see if things settle down.Odds are they will but if not call his rheumy. This is VERY common and VERY hard to deal with.As time goes on you do get used to it and even expect it to happen but it still breaks your heart. I hope things settle down quickly. Hugs Becki and 5 systemic

Guest guest
-Rosetta, Hang in there... tapering the meds is always tough. Hopefully going a little slower will help Dakota more. Its always ok to vent here.. i think weve all done our fair share over time. Sometimes when things are going ok, life seems all rosey and fine and then a flare or pain return and all our feelings of not being able to control this disease come back to haunt us. its all normal. Try to take care of yourself too, I think we all tend to forget our own needs when our children are sick and in the long run that will not help them at all.... hugs Helen, mom to (6,systemic) -- In , " orwranglerbabe2002 " <orwranglerbabe2002@y...> wrote: > hello everyone it has been a week since i last posted been crazy here. > we have been doing good since dakota,s last set back about two weeks > ago he was hurting pretty good for a few days . then he was fine dr > said that it was proably from us lowering his meds . so he told us > to keep him on that dose for 14 days instead of 7 days . he started > feeling better . he has been great for about a week now, so the dr > has lowered his meds again but only by .05mls this time instead of a > quarter of a tsp . well we lowered it on tuesday and he was doing > really good i thought that maybe there would be no set backs this > time but i was wrong he woke up this morning limping and crying that > his legs are hurting . just when i think he is doing good it comes > back. and it is breaking my heart everytime i seem him in this pian i > just want to take it all away . does it get better or do you just > get better at handling it . i am so tired of my head spining. and i > get mad at my self for even thinking this way cause he is the one who > is really hurting . well iam sorry for venting just wanted to let > you guys know how dakota was doing . i just hope it isnt a real big > set back this time . only time will tell. thanks for listening > > love > rosetta > dakota 2 1/2 systimic

Guest guest
Rosetta - I am sorry to hear about Dakota's set back. Poor kid! It's so hard at 2 (at any age really) to watch them go through this. Don't feel bad about being tired. We are all tired. That is the price we have to pay for caring about our kids so much! I was ready to put Caroline on the curb with a " free " sign yesterday. I hope you can find the right combination of drugs. Good luck! Guest guest
dra - a lot of people have undiagnosed IgG allergies. They are allergies that are not acute, but affect the body over time (IgE allergies are acute...like when you eat peanuts or get stung by a bee & end up going into anaphylactic shock). One of the common allergic problems is exhaustion. Also, all kinds of GI issues. I have severe IgG dairy allergies & can't have any dairy at all, yet if I took a standard allergy test they would not show up. Also, I have tried lactaid & it has not helped one iota. Guest guest
- I use soy milk in things like pancakes, waffles, etc.... The best one, I think is 8th Continent brand in the refrigerated milk section. You can also use rice milk. Just watch if you bake things...sometimes they brown quicker. Guest guest
, does the Procardia work? Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions, but I'm confused (not an unusual situation this week, it's been a rough week!) How often do you have NCCP's? How long do they last? Do they respond to the Procardia? I guess my sleep-deprived brain doesn't understand why you get wiped out for two days from long NCCP's when you have medication to make them go away. If the Procardia doesn't make them go away, I would talk to your doctor about changing to something that will work for you.... with the big long list of things to try, I would want to experiment with ALL of them until I found something that would work on my NCCP's! Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to BFL also, however i have been exercising daily for 5 months. My experience has been, your body knows what it needs. since you are normally high energy yet now you are doing constructive exercise your body may need more sleep at night. This happened to me 5 months ago when i went from a moderately sedentary lifestyle to exercise. also i am overweight, it took my body about 2 weeks. now i try to be asleep by a certain time instead of whenever. good luck! Gena > > Hi, I am new here and have been following the BFL plan for a little over a week. Prior to that I was walking about 3 miles a day. I am overweight but have never had the problem that I am having now. I am sooooo tired since I started doing the BFL program in addition to being sore which I know is a good thing. Is it normal to be tired at first until my body adjusts? I normally am a very high energy person but I just can't get my rearend moving since I started BFL. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Guest guest
The intense workouts demand more sleep than you're probably used to. Try getting to bed earlier or taking more naps until you adjust. Some other things to consider: Did you quit caffeine when you started BFL? Have you cut your carbs too low? Are you getting enough calories? If you have any doubts about your meals, post a sample day and get some feedback. tired Hi, I am new here and have been following the BFL plan for a little over a week. Guest guest
That could be it, but it could also be the amount of rest you're getting, and even whether or not you're getting enough iron. Guest guest
Did you perhaps go cold turkey on caffeine? I can't remember who was talking about it, but that will wipe you out for sure. So will not getting enough sleep. Most of the time we can squeak by on 5-6 hours, but when you start BFL you might need 9-10 for awhile. Don't be afraid to go to bed early or catch a nap in the afternoon if that's what you need to do. Nearly all of the important muscle growth, repair, and recovery happens when you sleep. Fall behind and you're going to feel zonked. 1,500 calories is plenty of food if it's well balanced. Make sure you didn't accidentally cut the carbs too low or something. Guest guest
I 'm not sure if its a iron defiency...whenever I get my blood work done everything turns out fine and extremely healthy. I also take a Mega Women's Multi Vitamin, however when ever I do restric my calories of around 1500 become very tired, and lethargic. Also of my caffeine I drink cups of tea and diet soda, not so much coffee, but I try to give my self a boost from the diet snapple or diet soda. I may stop restricting my calories since I am at a very nice weight and body fat percentage, but I really just wanted to cut up a little more.- Barbara > Oh yeah.
