Guest guest
I agree wholeheartedly Don. I was never ready to give them up. I'm still not. And that's my issue, not anyone else's. It always upsets me when someone who is a reformed smoker starts in on me. And I don't mean anyone on this forum. I have a few friends that I swear I want to punch in the nose when they start. I'll quit if and when I am ready and not before. If you have one iota of doubt, please dont even waste your time. My experiance is this - [50+ years of smoking] - Ive seen all the gory movies, and read all the articles and stats. - Ive tried all the meds, patches, smokeless cigs, toothpicks, suppliments, vitamins, diets, la dee da's. - Ive been in the hospital, jails, and mental lockdowns where they dont let one smoke. - Ive prayed, been to groups, wrote letters, had Guru's, doctors, and played every game imaginable. - Ive been pumped up, pumped down, pumped sideways, and pumped inside out by 'professionals', and non-professionals alike. None of it did me any good because - I DIDNT REALLY WANT TO QUIT SMOKING. I repeat: - YOU HAVE TO WANT TO OUIT SMOKING - 100%. If you have one iota of doubt, please dont even waste your time. Now, if you are sure 100% that you are going to quit - then you will put down that cig, and never look back. NOTHING else works, and ALL the games are BS. And this RULE applies to everything in life. love don in ks FYI, I quit smoking September 14th I was on Wellbutrin. Never got the urge again to smoke. Try it. My husband smoked for 35 years and quit it's been almost 3 years he went on Chantix. The stuff works if you take it as directed. I quit before for 10 years on my own. I wasn't a big smoker. But when I was popping perks I wanted to smoke that's why I started again, when I herniated my back they gave me percosets. Hmmmm, it is strange because my husband now found that spot on his lung that they have to look into. He said he thinks because he stopped smoking it unearthed something on the lung?? I think subconsciously, your body is telling you to stop because their is something wrong? My take. Because when people stop they find a problem. But they can't figure out why? sharon Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post | Start a New Topic Messages in this topic (42) Recent Activity: New Members 7 New Links 53 Visit Your Group
Guest guest
Yep know what you mean, I dated a guy for 8 yrs. He quit smoking and was always nagging me in fact the last straw of our relationship was when we went to the smokie moutains. hiked for 8 hrs and then the grand fianle the clingmans dome. The brochure gave warnigs due to the altitued and to take breaks. Well about half way up I had to sit down and catch my breath. He started in with the smoking was why I had to sit down. then I poped off about it being the reason why he wanted to do the hike was to prove a point on why I needed to quit smoking. Come on I was a trooper hiked for 8 hrs. I took a break and sat on a bench provided by the park to rest. It was his way of trying to make a point to me on how I needed to quit smoking. Needless to say I puffed all the way home 4 hrs later and a pack shorter. FYI, I quit smoking September 14th I was on Wellbutrin. Never got the urge again to smoke. Try it. Guest guest
Beth,LMAO, You should have lit one up on your 8 hr break in front of him. At that point, I probably would have stuck two smokes in my mouth. I can't stand sickies like that. They must have been on the pacifier til they were 13 yo. he, he, Ironic Smokie Mountains, lol I have a girlfriend that was my bff when I was younger but she got into this health kick thingy where she would watch to see if I ordered caffeine or non-caffeinated coffee. It's a control thing I think with her. Well, we don't really see each other any more. I will drink caffeinated coffee if I want, that's my business. She was all over me with what I was eating etc. No one liked her or could stand being around her and she just didn't get it. Imagine, she would look at what I was ordering telling me not to get caffeinated coffee, hello. All I want is the caffeine honey, and a vallium when you turn your head so I can be with you for another hour, lol When your ready you will, if not, you won't. No one could ever tell me what to do. I am off the wellbutrim i am hoping I don't go back. We'll see, I still don't have an urge. I had to tell people to make sure they didn't tell her I smoked cigs. Imagine, grown woman, hello, I went on wellbutrim for depression but it stopped my smoking. huhToo funny BethFrom: Beth Frey <bethfrey42301@...> Sent: Thu, January 6, 2011 7:17:24 PMSubject: Re: [ ] Smoking - don's 2 cents Yep know what you mean, I dated a guy for 8 yrs.
