Guest guest
{Moderator: Note to Rooster Rick - don't forget to search the archives as this topic has been discussed over the years} it helps me with nausea and pain and depression (mutes my symptoms) and it makes me less upset that i am having a relapse; definitely helps. i only do it at night when i am through trying to function and it helps me relax at night which seems crucial to functioning the next day. > > Hi All, > Has anyone tried Medical marijuana? Ive been sick for 6 years now, started with a stomach virus infection and have remained sick ever since. I am always dizzy/lightheaded and have body pains, among other symptoms 24/7. I am homebound and not able to work. A friend of mine gave me some medical grade marijuana a month ago and told me I should at least try it. I held on to it a few days contemplating to even try it. Then, I decided to just give it a shot, heck I have 2 big boxes of several medications Drs pushed on me over the course of years being sick and medical visits, why not give this a try I thought? Well, I tried it and it has helped me. I have noticed that it numbs the pains and has helped me to get back on my feet(I also have OI). I have been able to function better and can do more things around the house. I am 39 years old and I was raised with the mindset that MJ is a bad drug, so I have remained quiet about it and not told anyone. Anybody else that can share some info on this? Has it helped others? > -Ricky >
Guest guest
Does it put you right to sleep? It seems like it would be bad with the sore throats we have, to smoke it. Is it ok wiht our immune issues? Has anyone tried it as a tea or in food? Amy
Guest guest
With MMJ there is no need to smoke a whole " joint " , that would be way too much for our condition. You should start with only one puff so that you see its effect and know what to expect. There are 2 kinds of MMJ, one is INDICA, which gives you a " body high " , this kind contains more CBD's which are natural pain killers and also relaxes you. The second kind is SATIVA, which gives you more of a mental high and is more stimulating, but it does numb the pains. I think in the small amounts we would be consuming it, there should be no problem. You can even purchase a " Vaporizer " which only heats up and vapors the crystals, not the leaves, so its easier on the lungs. Yes, some people even consume it by eating it, but you must be careful not to eat too much and realize it will take a couple hours before you feel anything. All in All, I think it helps by numbing my symptoms. Its either I feel all my horrible symptoms or the High I get from taking a couple puffs, which last me 1/2 day. Forget about the negative stigma the government cast over it in the 1940's. We've all been programmed to think its a bad drug, when its really a GREAT medicine for sick people. Its already been well documented as helping people going through Chemo and AIDS patients. Most of us with CFS feel like were going through chemo everyday. I say try it for yourself, you probably already exhausted the Big Pharma route anyway with no positive results.... > > > > Does it put you right to sleep? > > It seems like it would be bad with the sore throats we have, to smoke it. > > Is it ok wiht our immune issues? > > Has anyone tried it as a tea or in food? > > Amy >
Guest guest
Hi Ricky, I havent tried medical cannabis (although i'm assuming it's a purer version of the street stuff?). I can offer my experience of just cannabis, i used to smoke it for years all day long. It was brilliant. That's just me though, the aches went, the headaches, the pain, the worry, i could function better, I felt happier etc. Of course there is side effects and down sides to everything. Hopefully medical marijuana has cut down on a lot of the bad properties of the illegal stuff. Its usually high thc content in " skunk " that causes a lot of problems. As I stopped smoking I can no longer smoke it, and after becoming very unwell I can't use my usual preference " skunk " because it makes me too out of it and tired. I like the sound of this medical stuff though!. So how do they purify it? does it have a lower THC content? is it a tincture or herb? On a serious note though perhaps all it did was " numb " it and not make it go away and now what i'm feeling is what I did before, but I have nothing to numb it anymore. But I honestly felt so much better when I had it. It can become something you use all the time though, you should just be mindful of that, because it does really help, you obviously want it when you have symptoms, which as you said is 24/7. I saw my Dr once and she asked if i had taken any drugs in the past, I told her and she said well it's not so bad! lol. Thanks for posting this Amy > > Hi All, > Has anyone tried Medical marijuana? Oddly enough there was a deal for it at my local place on http://www.bargaincrowd.com/ at http://sjcbc.org/ $20 for $40 of product. Since my doctor has recommended it several times, I'm going to give it a shot and see if it helps. > > > > > > > > Does it put you right to sleep? > > > > It seems like it would be bad with the sore throats we have, to smoke it. > > > > Is it ok wiht our immune issues? > > > > Has anyone tried it as a tea or in food? > > > > Amy > > >

Guest guest
There has been some disscussion on being denied transpant if you are treating with mj. Is that if you ever smoked it or if you are currently using ? If it is if you ever smoked it wouldnt that elimate just about everyone. The only person I know who never did was my mom. It does help. Not legal here though and we are starting drug testing at work due to one of the empolyees bad choices Here in Ca, one can purchase a med ID to give you the legal right to buy @(dispensary), carry, grow and smoke medical mj. Guest guest
I think you just have to have a clean drug test and they can go back a year I think on a hair sample.  But with medical marijuana.. that would be a contradiction if they eliminated you for using that.  Just sayin. Guest guest
I agree with Teri Doctor prescribed medicine is doctor prescribed medine. Now if there were a health issue involved, like difficulty of a Transplant working, that would be a different story. Morals and opinion though, are not medicine. I think someone would have grounds to fight this in a court, and win. This polocy will have to be changed, sooner or later. Hopefully, not too many people will die in the meantime. love don in ks Here in Ca, one can purchase a med ID to give you the legal right to buy @(dispensary), carry, grow and smoke medical mj. Guest guest
hi Don,thanks!I agree, people should be allowed to take whatever is working for them. I say if Heroin killed all the sides, and did not damage the liver, then this should be allowed. I am open minded, but sadly some doctors and courts are not.thanks,ny On Jan 6, 2011, at 2:19 PM, Christ wrote: I agree with Teri Doctor prescribed medicine is doctor prescribed medine.
