Guest guest
WTF GLORIA! PULL THAT DAMN OBIT. Crap, this same damn thing happened when my father died. I was 17 years old and had to put up with the same shit. My dad had a son from a previous marriage.... long story on how the first wife died... my half brother was a year older than my mom and since I was a " kid " just weeks away from my 18th birthday I was left out of all the planning and arrangements even though I was the one that knew what dad wanted. His funeral was everything he didn't want. BUT the god damn obituary... listed HIS freaking mother as my dad's wife. He even went so far as to have his mother dug up and laid to rest next to my father. My dad didn't even want to be in the same cemetery as her much less be buried next to her. Til today it still eats at me and one day I will have my father moved. That obit cannot run. PERIOD.Let me know what happens... If the earth changes orbit suddenly I'll know you did it!Head high.... Guest guest
Hey Gloria, I got a good one for ya, My husband passed in 96 we were not together at the end , he was very ill and I still saw him at least 2-3 x a week, but his mother was his caregiver, so when he dies they call me at work n tell me I need to sign papers before he can be buried or proceed with the funeral arragements, ok I leave immediatly, get there and some ass at the funeral parlor says to me well we need you to sign these papers, and we dont want any trouble. WTF i think i dont even know these people.,I say what do you mean, he says i know u and your husband did not get along because u werent together and we dont want any trouble with you and the x wife at the funeral. I lost it. After asking him did he know me or the man in the coffin (my husband of 10 yrs -together or not) How dare him to assume what our relationship was or why or anything, i was too upset to sign anything, i threw the chair at him across the room and left.Well I had to go back and sign everything the next morning or his funeral would have been delayed. I gave a piece of my mind but they really did not care, they were paid already!! Pure ignorance. People are priceless .Betty From: Gloria <gadamscan@...>Hep C Web Warriors < >Sent: Thu, January 6, 2011 12:15:38 PMSubject: [ ] Husband's Death Hey GuysI want to share with you just how sick my step-children are. Guest guest
Teri and Everyone here that understandsIt's been a really really lousy day, to say the least!! Isn't it unbelievable how cruel human beings can be to another. Never, ever in my whole life could I even conceive of such cruelty. At first, I just wanted to get in touch with everyone that I could and invite them to come along and change the venue to a new location. Then, a couple of people talked me down and told me that the numerous friends that I truly do have, will continue and that these people have already shown how classless they are. I'm still having trouble accepting that and you gotta know that I want to do something to hurt them back so badly; but, they say I have to be a good girl. Then later on, I called the funeral home sobbing about not realizing what I was signing away. I asked for one last thing. I wanted to ensure that I had a seat in the front pew. Well guess what, yup, because these two horrible human beings paid for it - I don't get anything. Therefore, when I send away for the Canadian Death Benefit - guess what?? It's all mine.... "Special Friend Pat" How about MISTRESS. He was still MARRIED! OMG. Gloria has to be reeling and so hurt. Guest guest
Hi Gloria, My son's grave marker says beloved husband of Venus--they were married 6 days--it does not mention beloved father, son or brother. He had 3 children. There was some stuff about their love etc. on the marker. His/our family and her family had separate gatherings after the funeral. She called one of his children " a little bastard " as loud as she could at the service. She buried him in a second hand jogging suit because it was not an open casket. Her mother tried to get me kicked out of the hospital housing because my son was dead and not in the hospital. Her family accused me of stealing money out of their suitcase to the social worker at the hospital. They later found it where they had actually put it. She talked his employer into " losing " the insurance policy that was left to his boys and giving the money to her. I could go on and on--but it was a nightmare. Ask the paper to do a retraction or at least a correction to the obituary. You, at least, have a legal right to be in charge--which we did not. Use those rights !!! I am so so sorry you have to go through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, SuziQ > > Hey Guys > > I want to share with you just how sick my step-children are. Guest guest
Oh SuziI didn't know that these kind of people actually exist around us!!! What a naive pollyanna outlook I have!! You know, treat others as you would wish to be treated? I can only guess that these kind of people don't understand our kind of thinking.I can not fathom that kind of behaviour. I just can't... I really believe that those of us that are incapable of such incredibly horrible behaviour, can never get one step in front of them. Since we couldn't even think of the step they just took, how could we understand that kind of sick mind??My mothers was soooo upset this morning that she was on the phone to the paper promptly. They are putting in an amendment when the paper goes out next. Then she phoned the funeral home.. I also called away after she did. We were both told that the director did point out that things were just not done that way; but, they insisted. They all feel bad and I doubt that they will soon forget an when one comes in.Unfortunately, I signed over my legal rights for the funeral. I certainly had no idea that anyone could even conceive of such a horrible thing. I really thought that everybody could lay down their weapons while we put their father to his rest. But, little did I know!!Last night, my son even said that it's been too quiet from those two and he had a feeling that something was going to happen. I agreed that another shoe had to fall before this was over. Then, I went to look to see if our local newspaper was online yet, even though it actually doesn't come out until tomorrow. There it was in black and white!!! Unbelievable. Then I had to learn that I don't even have the right to sit in the front row at the service!!!!!! Now well in excess of 99% of the folks that will be there (if they even come) will stand tall and true for me. Already this news is flying around our valley and I haven't heard anyone say they understand it at all. Guest guest
Gloria, I have an idea. You know the " IN MEMORY OF " paper that is handed out at funerals? There is not time to get one printed, but you might make one on your computer and pass it out outside the service. Write the good things you shared together and his sobriety etc List survived by WIFE of xx years and friends (name a few). Name his family as well so it is not vindictive. Otherwise you may have another surprise awaiting you at the funeral service. You probably will not be mentioned on that memorial paper. You can call ahead to the funeral home to see what it says. Call a few of your AA friends to be sure they are there to support you--you will need them. I called mine for my son's funeral. I will stand beside you even if you can't see me. I have walked in your shoes and it is painful. Love SuziQ > > > > Hey Guys > > > > I want to share with you just how sick my step-children are. Guest guest
gloria, betty again. They did the same to me, when I arrived at the church his X wife from like 15 yrs prior was sitting in the front with his mother. OMG in the church yet. I sat in the very last row of seats alone, his father did come and sit with me breifly which i greatly appreciated, and said how he knew how much we loved each other even though we were not together. That one person made the difference for me that day. And i think i was the bigger person for going regardless of them. Follow your heart. The morning of his last viewing I said Im nit going I cant do this!, But my heart knew I would never forget or forgive myself if i let them get their way and not show my respects. You must do what is safe for you. Go, and go alone if neeed be, but go STRONG and quietly, and know that we are all with you in spirit while u are there. Dont let them steal your goodbyes.
