Guest guest
Nope.. an epidural is a shot that they give you in your spine. It's used most commonly on women who are in labor, it blocks the nerves and they then can't feel anything from the waist down.. therefore they don't feel the labor pains.. or at least that's what they say. I didn't have one of those.. I stood up in the stirrups and yelled GIVE ME MORPHINE! I have also seen it used with back pain... I'm sure there are many ways the doctors use that shot. What you're talking about is the Endoscopy and/or Colonoscopy. One tube down your throat, the other goes up.. well.. you get the idea. For that test you are TOTALLY knocked out. I've had it done to me 3 times in the past 5 years or so. I don't need another one for a very long time. THANK GOD. Hope that clears that up for you sweetie!Hugs,TeriOn Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 9:33 PM, Barrett <barrjohnm@...> wrote: Hi Teri, that is that stomach scope with the tube, right?I am so stupid when it comes to the body, I find out things when they break:(Thanks,Hugs, ny On Dec 14, 2010, at 1:55 PM, Theresa Gottlieb wrote: ny,Why would they be giving you an epidural? Guest guest
nyI had an epidural into my upper spine just before they put me to sleep for my liver operation. In fact, there I was sitting on the operating table hunched over so that they could get it in. I'm sure that the initial needle that I actually felt, must have been a local antiseptic, because I never felt a thing after that.Gloria Nope.. an epidural is a shot that they give you in your spine. Guest guest
Exactly.... Every time I have had those procedures done they have done both of them at once... One time under anesthesia, both tests taken care of.. usually about 45 minutes to do both tests. Guest guest
I know this is late ny but on the endoscope or the colonscopy it is the prep that is the unplesant part. You got to drink their drink. It isn't too awful just a lot. Then you got to spend some toilet time It cleans you out so they can get a clear pic of what is there and what isn't. My mother in law gets epidurals in her spine and it helps her with some of her back pain. Naw your not stupid just learning.
