Guest guest
ny,I don't like those doctors at the clinical trial. The one you are dealing with is an idiot. Yes, you had issues on treatment... basically because they weren't watching you closely enough. Jerks. If you are allergic to the medications you develop that reaction within hours of taking the first dosage. Not months. Your body can and did handle the medications just fine for 20 some odd weeks. Yes, the meds made you pretty sick. They made me pretty sick too. But by no means does that mean you can't handle it. I think you just need an aggressive Hepatologist to work with your liver issues... and I'm sure you can find one on the East Coast pretty easily. NJ, NY all good places to start looking. I'm sure your Dad is already scoping it out. I can also ask my brother-in-law for some names for out there. He's in Saratoga Springs, NY but he works for a PR firm for major drug companies and works with specialists all the time. Glad you gave that woman a piece of your mind.. The treatment was rough for me, and the doctor said my case is very rare, and now after the treatment is over, which I think is 3 weeks or so that I should have no pain or problems at all, but I have so many. I did give her a piece of my mind, not that she cared but it was good for me to get it off my chest. Teri said once if you have a bad reaction it happens right away, not in months. I then asked well if I can't treat in your opinion what are my options, was told we can talk about that next time, but she said that last time. The only reason why I went is for the prc test. I was undetectable for the last one in October, and so I will still be undetectable in my mind! You have to think positive Until I see a test saying that I have a positive viral load (not sure what it is called when the virus comes back), I am cured! The treatment was so hard, and the after treatment is really hard, but I really believe that the treatment is good, and better options are coming soon. I took some oxycodene, really strong pills, yikes! Guest guest
nyIn the meantime, let's hope that when you get through all the terrible stuff that the tx did do to you, that we also learn that you are and are staying SVR. I'm not sure when you would ever be able to say you are cured. But, it would seem to me that if the virus doesn't poke it's heads out to be counted, then you are free.Gloria ny,I don't like those doctors at the clinical trial. Guest guest
HI Teri,Thanks so much!I second that!!I feel this too, if they watch me closer, and listen to me when complaining about the bloating (among lots of other issues) and that my ademin (can't spell the stomach but with the a) hurts I might not have the bladder & kidneys issues now. Yeah I was thinking that too, you can't blame interferon 20 weeks in for all the problems, yeah I know I did, but looking back I think if my body rejected interferon it would have happen after the first shot or two not on the 20th shot. All my issues were building up, and I think they just exploded and my body gave out. Don't mean to sound bitter at them, but I am as I blame them for me having all my health issues now. I think with the right doctor & team I could have made it through the tx, yeah I had a real rough time and everyday I thought somebody just put me out but I was pushing through regardless and if I was not pulled off f. would have followed through.yes Dad is already looking for places there, he thinks if needed there is a doctor who will treat me great there. I talked with him today, he seems much calmer, but don't me the next doctor you interview as if you are hiring him to work for your company and if they can't answer questions or you don't like them for any reason time to move away. I thought this was strange, but then he asked if I had a company and I was going to hire a flash developer what would I ask? I had a lot or responses, so he said change those questions to the doctor, and you will find a great one!thanks so much for looking too :)yeah I feel so much better after telling her how I felt!big hugs, nyFrom: Theresa Gottlieb <theresagottlieb@...> < >Sent: Tue, November 30, 2010 9:30:29 AMSubject: Re: [ ] liver doc today ny,I don't like those doctors at the clinical trial.
