Guest guest
Sharon, Unless you are seeing a gastro or liver doctor tomorrow, they are not going to test you for anything other than Hep C. As soon as I was diagnosed after having a second blood test after the first one, then I was referred to a gastro and that doctor is the one who ordered the blood work that tells you your genotype, viral load, etc. They should also test you for HIV and Hep A & B. If they don't you need to request they do. If you are negative, I would recommend you be vaccinated against Hep A & B. That's what my doctor recommended to me and that's what I did. So don't get your hopes up that you are going to know your viral load and stuff like that tomorrow. This is just the beginning of the process, of lots of doctor's visits. LOL Tomorrow is week 20 for me, I was telling my daughter if I was doing the new tx I would only have 4 weeks to go!! Instead I have 28 LOL But I am giving it all I have, it's tough but you can do it. Good luck tomorrow, I will be thinking about you!! Guest guest
CherylThere is no guarantee that you would only have to do the 24 weeks. There are a whole list of "ifs" on the new tx. My sister-in-law was in the clinical for people who had not treated before. I gather that she has some problems with her bloodwork and by the 12th week of so, they knew she would be going the whole 48 and she did.Yes, about the HepA & HepB!! I actually thought it was funny to get inoculated for them, considering how long a person could have the HepC and not know it. But, of course I had the shots.Congrads on the 20 weeks - WOW - where does the time go? How have your blood tests been? Are you hanging around normal??Gloria Sharon, Unless you are seeing a gastro or liver doctor tomorrow, they are not going to test you for anything other than Hep C.
