MarciaI had to do 2 treatments. The first was back in 2004/2005. Unfortunately, the virus likely mutated and so, was sticking it's tongue out at the end of that 48 weeks. However, tx also left me with a good case of fibromyalgia. Now, I don't know if I would have suffered from the fibro anyway or whether it was the tx. Right now, it has been kept bearable from some muscle relaxers my Dr. prescribed. My second tx was in 2009 and it was a clinical trial. I am happy to report that I am "cured" of HepC. It's been over 10 months now, since it came to an end and I am still virus clear. I do not have any extra health issues due to the treatment from this 2nd one. However, I am

one of the extremely low percentile of HepC victims that got liver cancer as a result of cirrhosis. Very fortunately, the tumours were found during treatment, so it was still in very early stages. I had a liver resection back in April 2010.The only question I have today, about the liver cancer, is what could have happened had I turned down doing the clinical trial?? During the interim between treatments, I couldn't help but wonder how fast my liver might be failing.Gloria

Teri, I know, your the strong one. I may have to

go down that road too, just my doctor and I made

the decision that he would monitor me once a

month on alternatives and see how I do on them

before taking that step. I had Rheumatoid

Arthritis (JRA) as a child and there were

concerns of long term auto immune problems which

is a common side effect among others with

standard treatment. Have you had any health issues after treatment?
