Just watched " Grizzly Man " --new documentary on DVD about Treadwell, who

went

to live with the grizzlies and became part of the foodchain...very intriguing.

Well-meaning

guy who crossed the line.

Lilly, I've been recommending the documentary GRIZZLY MAN ever since I sat in

the theater

so completely stunned after watching it that I couldn't move. It's a movie NO

ONE will ever

forget as long as they live. I didn't know it was out in DVD.

Poor Treadwell was an amazing combination of SENSITIVE PERSON and

COMPLETE

IDIOT. All us animal-lovers and radical environmentalists can see a little bit

of in

ourselves and it's frightening. Good thing I saw the movie. German director

Werner Hertzog

doesn't know how to make a bad movie. Thanks for mentioning it.

I saw that too. Something didn¹t ³feel right² about the whole show. I have

some Ojibwa friends who are bear clan and I would like to see what they

think. Betcha they would say that fellow wanted to be a bear and he got

eaten and became a part of a bear. It is best to leave the wild critters

alone unless you know what you are doing.

When my husband was sick, we watched Animal Planet on TV and some guy was a

Jane Goodall wanna be and was trying to make a film being with lions. We

kept waiting for him to be eaten because he was a TV star wanna be, instead

of relating to lions. It was totally stupid. I would not approach a dog the

way he approached lions. He was asking to be attacked. He seemed to be

making a wild animal film for profit and fame instead of being sincere for

animals.

I gotta tell you one other story about the animals in the wild, then I have to get to bed.I lived up in northern BC for several months and it was not very populated. Just the little town that housed the families etc. of the two copper mines. So, one morning the first husband and I were flying down the gravel road, in order to make it in time to get on the barge to cross over to the mine. We rounded one corner and the ex almost stood up braking. There in front of us was what seemed like a very big bull moose!!! Now, if there is one thing we know for sure, that is - you don't honk at a bull moose. In fact, you pray that he's not in a bad mood and that you are already in

backup mode. Now, it didn't matter if we missed the barge, because we couldn't go anywhere until that moose moved.Another time, when I was driving through one of the many big parks in this province, I saw an incredibly stupid situation. Suddenly, you realize that a lot of cars have pulled over to the side of the road. Had to slow down anyway. Then we see what it was!! A bear cub... Well, there's all these Japanese visitors, hauling old mom and the babies from the vehicle and trying to cross the road and get closer!!! They should give lessons to visitors from other countries. Do not! Absolutely, do not try to get close to the bear cubs. Where do you think mama is and she don't care if your old or a baby - get between her and her cub and you will get very close to mama.Gloria

I have a great visual on the Orientals with the camera's out and the baby cub.....  posing...  and there's MAMA!  LOL!  That's a picture I'd have liked to have seen.  Dummies!  Now the moose....  that would have scared me.

And I am wiped out..  The hubs and the dog are in bed...  before me.  Gonna have to find room on the bed for my tired butt!  SHEBA MOVE OVER!  Hugs,Teri

Had that happen in yellostone park .they call them Bear Jams. Mama sends cute baby to entertain while mama begs. Then she gets irate. We drove up to a bear jam in our convertible t-bird. Try explaing to your insurance agent that your leather seat has bites missing and shredded from bear claws! We turned around till she left and we could complete our travel.http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877 " "A well- behaved woman never made history"...Mae Westhttp://oktravels.wordpress.com http://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx On Dec 3, 2010, at 12:04 AM, Gloria <gadamscan@...> wrote:

Holy!! You were a bit too close to that mama. Probably didn't bring her kind of picinic basket. I spelled that wrong for a reason. Yogi Bear and Bo Bo!!!You had a convertible T-Bird?? I'm jealous for sure. I loved my 94 T-Bird and absolutely loved the way she could hold the road. But, the Fibro was making it very uncomfortable to get in or out. So, I bought a Ford Explorer that is on a lift package. Some guy called to me the other day and wanted me to take his card. He would be interested in it, if I was in the market to sell. Saw that he was a mechanic, so he knows how fussy they can be. Hmm have to think about selling it. I should really

have one of those moving pop cans, in order to save on gas; but, I'd hate to drive in the city with one. Not too many vehicles around me try to bully me when I'm in the Explorer.Gloria
