helping out in research -education?

Hi,

I guess my friend explained why the liver center sucks!

The are advertising for a job " RESEARCH ASSOCIATE " at the Liver Center, which

only requires a high school degree, or some community college.

I am no expert, but I would think that to work as a RESEARCH ASSOCIATE someplace

where they treat or do research relating to Hepatitis , who would need some

special training, maybe if you were in medical school and looking to get into

this field I could see that, but a high school diploma only?

Am I wrong on this one?

It's probably ok. They give them a big title to

feel important hoping it will make up for the low

pay. Undoubtedly a glorified gofer.

nyI would very much agree with you!! Even the young fellow that is the "research associate" at the Hep Clinic in Vancouver, has letters after his name. I have no idea what those letters mean - other than he's had to work hard in something.GloriaHi,

yeah was talking with Dad about this, he says that people doing this would need a medical degree or some type of medical training.Yeah those letters mean he has been in school for a long time and knows what he is doing, that is all the letters mean to me, I guess if you ask he ould tell you waht they mean.Hugs,nyOn Dec 4, 2010, at 7:20 PM, Gloria wrote:

Actually, I did ask one time and he did tell me; but, of course, I didn't retain that information. All I really remember is that he did not have previous experience in the HepC field; but, was certainly being especially trained by the Gastro.Also, he was extremely caring!! He's just a young fellow and so I certainly could not really fathom talking to him about some of my outside issues. Yet, when I was in the hospital in April for the cancer surgery, there was never a day that past, that he wasn't over to see me. Even my husband would wander over to the building where the clinic is, just to talk with Jeff.Now, I'm back with him again on this new follow-up
