Guest guest
Hi everybody The doctor visits went like doctor visits usually do. Nothing new really to report. Today my doctor mainly gave me lab/test results, and we discussed 'stuff'. I already told Teri privately, but I guess I will tell everyone whats going on with me. I dont want anyone to start worrying about me though. Im fine and life is still good. I am able to function, Im not in a wheelchair or in an assisted care home. For the last few weeks the doc has been checking me out for a new health problem that 'might' be creeping up on me. I have been having some problems with motor control and cognition degeneration for a couple of years [or more]. My Mom died from Parkinson's disease a few years back, so with showing some symptoms and this family history, my doc decided to check me out too, since I am at the right age for it to start to show up....about 60 years old. To my understanding there is not a blood test or a CT scan one can use to diagnose PD. It is just DX'd by a combo of symptoms, eliminating possible causes, and trying meds to see if they help. There is also no cure, but there are meds that can help, if one needs them. Anyways, the docs have been putting me through an intense battery of different tests - physical and mental - to see whats up. We have been discussing all the possible other causes that might be at the root of the symptoms I am showing. My docs are being very careful, and looking into everything. - I have already been DX'd with a broken neck/back [and spinal degeneration], HCV, Fibromyalgia, COPD, CHF, Herpes Complex, GERD, Hemorrhoid/colon issues, and various mental and nerve disorders. - I have been hurt real bad in the past in accidents, have overworked my body doing construction, and have experianced extreme stresses in my life - physically and mentally. - I have used excessive amounts of drugs and alcohol, but not in the past 30 years. - I dont exercise anymore due to pain, balance, motivation, and coordination issues. - My diet has sucked my whole life, altho I have been doing alot better the last 2 years. - I have had West Nile Meningitis [virus] from a 'terrorist' misquito attack. LOL :-) - I am on, and/or have taken many kinds of prescription meds. - I have had some surgurys, and come real close to dying a few times from having too much fun. - I am 60 years old, not enough sex, and the aliens have landed. LMAO :-) Any, and/or all of these things may be the causes of the symptoms that I am now showing. Mainly motor and cognition. There are days that I cannot hold something in my hands, I bounce off the walls when I walk like a drunk, I forget things in 2 seconds, I shake, wiggle, and rock and roll. I fall down. Swallowing and speech issues, extreme fatigue, stooped posture, sexual dysfunction, sleep issues, pain, digestive, skin, and kidney problems. Drooling [mainly when I see pretty girls], cramping, uncontrolable shaking, and some emotional issues. These are just some of the symptoms that I display pretty often. As you all know, I do a lot of research, mainly about HCV. HCV can also cause bunches of 'stuff' to happen to our bodies, over and above the liver damage. I posted an article a month or so ago saying that HCV can and does impair the brain, thus the nervous system, and in the Links Library I have listed tons of extra-heptic conditions. HCV, it seems, can affect our entire bodys, and thus our lifesyles. So can the aging process. My doc told me again today, that this is going to be an ongoing diagnostic process. It wont be like going in and getting a blood test, and being told - 'you have HCV'. It may take the doc years to pin point a yes or no as to my having PD. Right now, he doesnt want to try any meds on me due to my heart and liver conditions. So basically its one of those - hurry up and wait - situations. LOL :-) That sounds like some good lyrics for a song. Anyways, that was my day. I hope you all had as much fun as I did. Tomarrow is TURKEY DAY. We all have much to be thankful for, so I hope yours is one to remember. I will be in and out if you need me. I love you all. love don in ks Hi everyone Im off to the doctors now.
