Congrats and I wish you all the good luck I can. Hopefully they

won't discover anything worse than what you already know and maybe

conditions have improved. Sorry I can't tell you what to expect.

hi,

a ct scan is easy. when you go in the room there will be a booth for the tech. and the ct mach. the machine looks like a big square with a hole in the middle, where the hole is there is a table you lay on that can slide in the hole. when the scan starts it is important to stay as still as you can as this will make the images better. and in about ten to fifteen minutes it will be over. no problem. good luck to you.

Hi All...

Just heard I am going for my 1st CT scan next week...a sure sign my 1st surgery can't be far away....not sure what to expect from the scan and I am a bit anxious about the result (will they infact discover I have a brain at last?!) Any advice or stories of similar experiences would be much welcomed. Thanks for your support.

Love and peace

Evel, These visits to the doctors have been so much easier for myself since

getting my CI. At some places we get moved around to different medical people,

and there was always some tension in trying to hear my name called. Best of luck

in your quest to get a CI.

I told her why I was there and that I was hearing impaired and after I removed

my hearing aid I would be even worse :o) She was really great and I made it

through fine.. I then took my paperwork back to the main desk and she said " 15

dollars please " and I heard that fine! Go figure :o) I am just mentioning this

as I read so many stories from those books about all the stress of simple things

like a Dr.'s visit for us..

Hi Cheryl,

I have bad kidneys - so scarred from past infections my doctor

advised me not to have any citrus or cranberry products as they are

too acidic.

I've had many CT scans with the dye, and it has never been a problem.

It's an odd feeling when it first goes in - you get very, very warm

for a few seconds.

I have occasional RUQ pain - quite acute at times. I've had

colonoscopies also, and the doctor can't find any reason for the

pain. His latest advice is to try a non-dairy diet to see if that

is the cause. I've not started that one yet but will as soon as

things calm down around the house.

Good luck,

Sandy C.

Well GangWas at my GP's office to hear the results from my CT Scan!! It appears that they are just not sure what both tests are showing, so they want me to wait for 3 months. This is what I had to do last year too. So.... still holding to find out for sureGloria

DonI'm actually a little afraid to hope for that!! I had completely put it out of my mind about my chances after the operation and this just it back and slapped me in the face. However, there is no sense worrying about it for another 3 months.Gloria

If you're refering to the mastoid bone....From what we were told on my son's scans.... you want to see a honey comb look. Ctoma's wipe out that honey comb material replacing it with solid skin material. That's my understanding. So the dark area could be Ctoma material?

Just curious on reading a CT Scan. When at docs. I took a peak at my CT Scan. One side had a bunch of "dark" spots which the tech said was "air". I guess that is good.

The other side was completely solid gray....does that mean I have a bad infection on this side?
