Guest guest
That sounds absolutely splendid! Yeah, just go ahead and draw up a bit through a straw -- get some of those lovely yeasty bits from the bottom -- and give it a taste. I'm sure you'll be delighted! Namaste -- and congratulations! -- Sylvia brachah_us <brachah_us@...> wrote: My first batch of booch is looking nearly ready, and I'm looking forward to the first sip! I tried to generate it at first by adding GT's to the basic sweetened black tea recipe, room temp and all, but the only growth I ended up with was black mold (ewww). This time, I purchased a scoby through eBay, and it seems to be doing well. A baby is forming, there's a pleasant vinegary smell, and a cloud of yeast at the bottom. This is day 7, so I'm thinking it's time to sample it. Do folks take a straw or something, draw from a particular area of the container? Many thanks for all the information and great energy on this list! Happy weekend to all, Barbara --------------------------------- Need a vacation? Get great deals to amazing places on Travel. Gently ease it right down into the vessel and take a BIG suck. Should the KT still be too sweet for you give it another day or two and try again. with kombuchaly welcomes, Margret:-) -- +------------------ Minstrel@... --------------------+ <)))<>< http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk <)))<>< http://www.AnswersInGenesis.com +----------------- http://www.Gotquestions.org ------------------+ Aim at Heaven and you will get earth 'thrown in'; aim at earth and you will get neither. - C.S. Guest guest
I just use a plastic mixing spoon that came with my kitchen ustensil set. They type you would use to stir a soup or stew with. This way I get about three or four tablespoons to sample. Guest guest
marie,At least they didn't send you home and tell you they'd have the results in a few days.. they are running the test now. And it might not take 3 hours either. The test itself only takes a few minutes to run. It's the tests that are waiting in front of yours that take time. You're waiting your turn so to speak. Is the weather there nice? If it is, maybe some sunshine will do you some good... You are in one of my favorite cities in the world.. Oh to have 3 hours to kill in Frisco... I can dream..... Hugs... I should think that there is a 'immediate concern' thing, where your case can be speeded up. If you have a lawyer, you might act about this. Im glad you got a 60 day extention at the shelter.
