Guest guest
Hi Amelie I am sorry to hear about your son. Its hard to watch our loved ones get sick. A bit of a correction - if your son has a viral load, I dont think he is ACUTE anymore. He is in the Chronic stage, especially as his doctor wants him to treat. [i am not absolutely positive about this.] In my opinion the 3 sups you are feeding him are VERY GOOD indeed. I also take these sups, and have experianced a VL drop. - In my opinion, you might also add Vitamin B and D complex, as well as a daily multi-vitamin [no iron]. - Do not try to 'cure' the disease using suppliments - they are to be used only to maintain health......ie: do not take massive doses. - Do not stop the suppliments unless a doctor advises you to. - Make sure the doctor is aware of everything your son consumes. <---- very important Is cutting the viral load in half a 'big' jump - in my opinion, thats super. Yes, the VL can go up and down, because the viral copies tend to 'clump' together in the blood. A person can take two blood tests at the same time. One might show a high VL, and the next a low VL. Amelie, just about everybody has mental issues connected to the HCV, and the treatment drugs. Both things are very hard on our bodies, and change our bodies. In my opinion this is NOT a reason to withhold treatment. NOTE: I am not a medical professional. This is my opinion only. There are meds to maintain the mental and physical side effects of treatment. Your doctor is the best person to consult about this, as he/she will be monitoring your son's progress. I am blasting you both with lots of love. love don in ks From: alaurino1 <pinion1@...>Subject: [ ] Viral Load and Alternative treatments Date: Saturday, October 30, 2010, 12:03 PM Hi. My son has been dx with Hepatitis C, genotype 3. He may still be in the acute part of the illness. My son had a viral load of 1,500,000 the first time he was tested. He was very unhealthy and I began having him eat really good and giving him Selenium, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Milk Thistle. One month later his viral count is down to 800,000. Is that a big jump? I know that the viral count results can go up and down each time you have them done. His viral count went down by almost half and that seems really good, but I am new at this. Has anyone tried anything like the Gerson Therapy for Hepatitis C and if so did you see any results? My son's doctor wants him to start Interferon. I am really nervous about the Interfuron though. My son is also bipolar and is stable now. I have researched and bipolar people often have many problems from Interferon. Thanks.------------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Amelie, I also had a high viral load when first diagnosed of 1.3 mil, I did go thru the Interfuron for which you must get a sych approval to release the treating Dr. due to the mood swings and depression assoc. with the treatment. So they may not even approve him for treatment, I will say dont feel like there is no hope without treatment. At the sound of numbers in the millions was I thought then overwhelming.Unfortunatly for me I only stayed neg. for 6 months after treatment and now have many, many things wrong that were not before. Is this just the progression of the disease itself or exagerated by the treatment. I feel the latter of the two, but again everyone is different, My VL was aggressive after treatment almost like it was coming back with a vengence against the treatment It was almost 3 million 6 months later. I actually do not know what is is today, 2 years later as I cnnot change it, I have learned to live with it and only wish I had done so in the beginning. Now of course had it worked I maybe Iwould not be saying this. So again each of us must be treated medically as an individual and can not treat all hep c patients the same. What works for one may not for the other. For me, My faith, and a dying effort to stay positive. My prayers are with you both, U will be fine ald Christ <ludichrist2000@...> Sent: Sat, October 30, 2010 4:33:19 PMSubject: [ ] VL and Alternative TX - Amelie Hi Amelie I am sorry to hear about your son.
