Guest guest
Well Sharon....was your doctor a male? Mine was, and told me the same thing........but I don't believe it.!!!! We are meant to be gorgeous sensual beings, lol, and having extra padding doesn't fit that bill. I think the doctors say that cause they don't have the answer and rather than admit it (hmmmmmmm a male trait too aye?) they give us some off the wall explanation, expecting us to accept. Well I will defy their little conclusion. We will find what the heck does this to us and eventually we will win this damn battle aye? I just know we will. Guest guest
I know Sharon....you are right about us obsessing on being too thin, but to be 5'8 " and 125 pounds for so long and to see how my mother spread....I just know that is what is happening to me, and I DO NOT WANT TO BE OBESE. Guest guest
Hi Debbie and all others on weight issues. My homeopath again said for those with Thyroid problems the Pituary gland also need to be checked out - hope that it could help someone out there. I know my body very well already - even being thin I know when the Pituary is playing up at the same time as I start retaining fluid, feel tired and emotional - I then go for a few injections which is all homeopathic and then feel on track again for a long time. Here in South Africa you can order the homeopathic injections and do it yourself - I prefer going to the homeopath as he treats me for the pituary, thyroid, Candida and the C fatigue as there is a link between it all. best wishes to all Elize >>> SFerris769@... 04/14/00 09:54PM >>>

Guest guest
That does sound like an awful lot. Was there a lot of weight involved? I use a lot of different companies, depending on what I'm buying. My M & P base is from Soapberry Lane in Virginia, a lot of my f/o's are from Brambleberry, Wholesale Supplies Plus, and many others. In fact, I just placed an order at Brambleberry for about$83 worth of stuff and the s/h was $13.88. But besides a bunch of f/o's I ordered a gallon of goatsmilk liquid soap base so that weighs quite a bit. And you have to figure the S/H charges have gone up recently around the country. But your $75 shipping does sound like a lot. Did you use different companies that totaled the $400 or was it all from one company? It should be cheaper to buy from one company instead of spreading it out over many. Just make sure you figure your s/h into the "cost" of your products. M Where Where is everyone getting their fo's from and other supplies....I just placed 4 large orders and my shipping totaled over 75.00.........Not to mention the 400.00 that I spent.......This is outrageous!!!!! Guest guest
Thanks, Debbie. I've never heard of them before. We sit outside by the pool (until we close it up in a few weeks) lots of times when we have those beautiful Fall days or evenings. I like to soak up as much of the good weather before winter as possible. This idea is on the same wave length as the fireplace bundles that Katy gave as far as burning them. I can't wait to smell them burning. I'll bet it's great. We have one of those portable outside fireplaces that we use during the summer that we could burn some night now, too. Maybe I'll have my husband build us a fire this weekend and try it if the weather is good. Guest guest
First of all, thank you for you!!!!! I see you have had your share of schools too. Today I did go in with loaded guns!!!!! The special services director even confessed he's never had to do this and does not know where to go from here. They all agreed that my plan was the best action to take, but were hesitant on committing to help pay the half-way. I told them about the IDEA laws, and that he is intitled to an appropriate education, and if it could not be provided in the school, it needs to be provided at my home, in addition to the ABA therapist, until he has enough self-control and behavior intervention plan to transition back into the school room. They still suggested the SBH school, and was a heated discussion for some time, and ended with the special ed teacher remarking that " I am not trained in behavior problems " , and the biggest reason is they don't want to look bad because they are being audited by the state this year.(humm, something to keep in the back of one's mind). I am really hoping all of this works and we can get him back, but without 100% cooperation from all, it will fail. Thanks for your encouragement and support.....Cheri

Guest guest
Enjoy your little ones, Debby. I've been told by two of my drs that I cannot go back to teaching at this point but I do thinkd about all those little first grade faces and it makes me sad. I go to help when I am able but it's just not the same. So enjoy a little extra, I 'll even take them on the rowdy days, for me! Don't overdue it - as if that has ever stopped a teacher I know.l... Guest guest
Hi Irma, My visit to ville to the Down syndrome clinic was a nice one. The people there are so great. It is pretty much an all day visit. The educational person sees you, a PT, OT, and Speech, and then a medical doctor. We came away from the visit feeling pretty good overall. The three therapist zoned in pretty immediately on Jordan's sensory integration disorder and gave us loads of info. The educational person is very knowledgeable in world of IDEA, ESE, etc. Her son has Down syndrome and is 16 yr now, so she has been in the system for a lot of years. We just received the report they put together on Jordan. It is very thorough. It will be very good material for Jordan's teacher. I have had a good turn of events regarding my job/child care situation... the school that Jordan attends revamped their after school program. Where last year they kept 30 - 40 kids of various ages, this year they have a class that is for 11 children ages 3 - 5 and 4 adults to keep the children. Two of these adults know Jordan from the day school. So they are familiar with his aggression, he running away, etc. So we signed Jordan up... this means for me that I am now back to working a full day, rather than leaving the office at 2:00 every day. On a different subject... someone had mentioned something about their child blowing out candles and singing... Jordan is now doing the funniest thing with cake. We don't often have cake at the house, usually only for birthdays... Well, my dh's b-day was in August. We we were leftover cake a few days later, when Jordan would not eat his piece until we sang happy birthday. Then last week I bought a little cake (for nothing more than the yummy taste), so Jordan looks at me and said " ing " (sing) - so I sang happy birthday to him, then he took a bite, then he looked at me again and signed " more " and then said " ing " , so we did this about 5 times before he ate all his cake. He can be soooo funny. I'm sorry I do not write more often or chime in more... I do read the posts. I am amazed at all the info people on the list know and all the situations that are lived thru. Thank you very much for asking about Jordan. I read you stuff all the time... too bad I can't meet you sometime... where do you live? - debby _________________________________________________________________________ ________ Any update with your son? Since your visit to ville, anything new going on? Hope you had a nice weekend. Take care. Irma,15,DS/ASD
Guest guest
Hi Debbie, Seems like things are looking good for you and Jordan. What a relief knowing that you've finally have some solutions or answers to guide everbody meaning your family & professionals towards some direction of HOPE! Glad things worked out with childcare and your able to focus at your employment fulltime. I know this cuts down some stress. I'm looking forward to hearing how or what worked out, ok? You might think I know this stuff, wrong. Still learning as here in SA, TX where I'm at, we are still learning the updated information which is slowly manuvering in as many are seeing that our kids need this type of intensive interventions. I know its been a journey having to be some type of a drill sergant towards my son when he acted out as I did not understand what triggered his behavior. But, you try anything. I was not going to give up and you got it, time to take some action. This is now at his age with the ABA/VB, SI Therapy this was one of the keys towards some progress. These services are done privately as the secondary school does not have this on hand. I have not persued it yet at school, but I have some notes ready to take these steps once I need these programs applied. He is doing very well right now and the school are being very cooperative. I know I must document this immeditely in his file so I better act fast with reference. I'm getting there, just need it perfect. ; ) Of course it does involve other methods of trials that I've crossed but its nice knowing that he is doing awesome these days. Thanks for the update, it was nice hearing from you. I am so happy for you and Jordan. What glorious news! News like this makes my day. Thanks for your precious time posting. Take care. Guest guest
Thanks Kim- started soaping almost 20 yrs. ago and began it seriously as 'therapy " after a days of PR/phone work here in Bob's office and it just got away from me to the point where I had to market product or find a new home:) I take one day at a time and try to balance as I am a firm believer in " if it is meant to happen it will. " I don't push too hard-just try to direct things. I used to post constantly here on the list but work/family just don't leave enough time sometimes. What I really am trying to do for me more than anything is getting my certification in herbalism. I really don't want to ever feel stressed by what started out as a stress reliever:O Deb
