I'm Back!!!

I'm back from vacation everyone! I tried to keep up with the messages while I was gone, but it proved to be more frustrating than I anticipated. So I just decided to let it go until I returned.

Our time at Myrtle Beach was very active! We walked the beach every morning and every evening. We swam daily. We walked all over the different pavilions, museums, and etc. We ate out a lot, but with all the activity, really didn't affect me. I actually lost weight on vacation.

I'm at 268.5 now. I haven't been below 270 in YEARS. I can't believe I was 285 in February and now at 268.5. I'm totally baffled. Happy, but baffled. Because of all the extra activity on vacation I wanted to keep up the pace. So walked two miles on Saturday and did a lot of things around the house. Then on Sunday I worked outside and mowed the grass with a push mower (we have a huge yard). With the nicer weather, I think I'll start my daily walks again and just use the tapes when I don't have the time to walk or when weather is bad.

Well glad to be back! Hope to catch up with all of you soon. Welcome to all the new members I may have missed while I was gone.

Hi Virginia! Glad to hear everything went well for you. I love the staff there at Almater as well, I can't wait to go back to visit everyone and take more pictures. I'm going to see if Yolanda can drive us around so I can get some more pictures of the area. I am hoping to do a cruise at the end of the year, but that will be around Cancun and all those areas of Mexico. I am glad to hear you are doing well and I am sure you are looking forward to getting all that weight gone forever, it's a very exciting time. I know I enjoy each day that I wake up lighter, and I can't wait to hear the numbers tomorrow since this will be my first weigh in since 2 1/2 wks I believe!!! So, wish me well. Take Care and Good Luck!

Hello Marcia,

I know the EXACT feeling you are having now. Being ashamed of how you

look, being tired and fat. I get banded on March 27th and I am SO

ready to begin a new happy life without all the weight.

When is your surgery date? I am going by myself too. Everyone has

told me there is nothing to worry about so I feel pretty good about

being alone.

Best of luck to you.

I looked for you!!!! When I met Kathy I walked into her room and asked if she was Laurel!!! I was on the second floor, were you too? How are you? I am having some pain, depending how I move. It's also hard to get 70 g of protein. So far I have 42 for today. Isopure isn't the best tasting stuff in the world!! I am not hungery though. I have some chocolate whey protein but I don't think they would consider that clear! I also have found I like beef broth better than chicken! Keep in touch. You know what? I have Kaiser Permanente Insurance and I went to the Doctor to see if I could get referred to have surgery and I was told by my Doctor that I was not a good candidate for surgery. I looked at him and said so if I gain another 50 or so pounds than maybe I would qualify? Its really unbelievable with these insurance co. I think if they would start approving these surgeries than the costs would actually go down. Being overweight causes many health problems and we need to be treated for all of those and I feel in the long run it would be better for both, the insurance and the patient. So, Yes I have to pay for my surgery but thats okay because I AM WORTH IT!!!! Tammy I.Virginia Herrell <herrell@...> wrote: Yes, I think most of us were rejected by our insurance companies. Hee, Hee....we all have our stories......get this one......I have UnitedHealthcare....They actually said that I was approved. My doctor said that I was a perfect canidate....the weight thing was not an issue...5'4 and 300lbs should not be an issue....no real problems yet...YET. They had me go through the EKG, blood work...and several other pre-op things....including 3 days of 1meal, and the rest clear liquids..... The afternoon of the day before surgery....they called and said that they changed their mind....... You can just imagine how upset that I was. B.tammy irish <tammyntod@...> wrote: You know what? I have Kaiser Permanente Insurance and I went to the Doctor to see if I could get referred to have surgery and I was told by my Doctor that I was not a good candidate for

surgery. I love the staff there at Almater as well, I can't wait to go back to visit everyone and take more pictures. I'm going to see if Yolanda can drive us around so I can get some more

pictures of the area.
