YES, many of these horrible problems went away immediately after my explantation and have never returned, and I had some of Dow's Lifetime Silicone Implants in my body for nearly 20-years. For the last 6-months prior to my explant surgery, I became so ill I honestly thought I was going to die before I could get the implants out in '95. Although it was the most painful surgery I had ever had due to all the scraping that had to be done on my chest wall, many of the symptoms I had have NEVER returned. However, my health is far from normal, yet I no longer have the catatonic jerks, the ringing in the ears, the inability to lift my arms over my shoulders, the severe brain fog, the inability to sleep well through a night, etc.

I do continue to deal with chronic fatigue (my body now sleeps soundly for at least 10-hours per day), and I have serious problems with fibromyalgia, however, I can now function on somewhat of a consistant basis daily. I wish I could say I have tons of energy, and never have any pain, etc., yet this is much better than 6-years ago!

I spent 2 1/2 years having antioxidant IV therapy after my explantation, physical therapy, massage therapy, etc. to get to this point. I take lots of vitamin supplements so I don't have to continue the IV therapy. I did test positive for platinum toxicity shortly after my explantation and a few months ago I tested negative, with the same Internist and the same lab doing the test.

I've never been sorry I was explanted regardless of how silly my 'chest' looks -- I just started wearing really 'loose' tops before my surgery, and have continued since. I often forget to even 'put on' my padded bras -- especially, when it's hot in TX. I don't think anyone ever notices the difference, as I went back to trying to accent my assets, just as I did before I was implanted -- it works!

Please stay in touch!

Most sincerely,

Martha M / NSIF

Hi Again, ,

Yes, unfortunately, many of the women who have gotten better are "out there living their lives", and trying to forget this nightmare many have gone through, and not considering those who are just now going through the same thing. I apologize for them, although I do not condone what they have done by walking away from young ladies, such as yourself. God told me I had a mission to do for Him in this arena, and I agreed to do it. He even sent my father to the foot of my bed one night, and he told me, "We are not ready for you here yet, as you have much work to do on earth"! My father was killed instantly in a car wreck in 1973! That was only the second time I saw my father after his death. Yet, now he's with me nearly every day!

No, I'm not nuts --I'm just somewhat in the same world as Sylvia Brown! Slightly physic!

Hugs & Blessings,

Martha

Terri,

We talk all the time on the phone and we have become such good

friends and you have listened to me through all my tears and pain and

bad and good and you know I am getting better and better everyday,

not that I don't have lots of issues still, but it has only been 3

months. I feel it will take us a year or two to be completely cured

and I feel in the mean time we can get better and better and try to

do as much as poosible to get well and get back out there. Today I

went about 5 miles, jogged about 3 and walked the rest up these realy

steep beutiful hills and I did it in my new tiny little jog bra and I

looked beautiful. THen I went with my kid to a roller skating

birthday party and roller skated for 2 hours, well I never could have

done that with the brain thing and all before so I know I am getting

better, my pain is acting up lately and I think my diet is realy at

the root of that but at least I am able to do things and not be dizzy

or spaced too much anymore. Hang in there Teri, I love you and you

know how to reach me....in fact maybe I will just call you to give

you a pep talk. We have so much in common and have become very close,

it is such a bummer we don't live closer together cause I would be

over your place everyday getting you out and getting you motivated,

you know me motivation queen here, even when I feel bad and think I

can;t I do it and usually I have fun. Ok so this blister from skating

is killing me but other than that I am ok today. I love you girl hang

tough
