Guest guest
Hi Gloria Your already deep into it. Your healing yourself and helping others heal along the way. In my book.....thats pretty nifty. love don in ks From: Gloria <gadamscan@...>Subject: Re: [ ] Incredible news! Date: Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 11:43 PM Both of you already know that if there is any opportunity that this kind of program was coming to Canada - I'd love the opportunity!!I'm still waiting for the Higher Power to show me my next path!! Probably right now, I'm supposed to work at the local level when I can and also, get clear of my marriage woes. That won't be long to be past very soon now and then watch out - here I come.Gloria I've delayed going public with this 'cause I feel a little guilty that parameters for this program require completion of treatment, but there's good news for all of us. The Ambassador program Teri mentioned awhile back has also accepted me for the program, so I get to meet my partner in crime face to face in Boston (Cambridge) next month! Teri and I get to team up on ways to help doctors and potential recipients understand more about what's going on from being diagnosed onward. It's an exciting opportunity for both of us. But here's the good news for all of us. While this programs parameters include being SVR, this isn't a one time shot. Teri and I are getting in at the foundation of the program, but we were on a conference call today and the coordinators of this program are going to have an ongoing search for folks that attain SVR and are willing to share some of their experiences to help other folks with hep-c. In addition to this program, there's a video in the works for patients, doctors and health workers to help them better understand what to expect from treatment. Teri and I will be talking to the producer, coordinator and writer for this video on Friday, and if all goes well we may be able to reach out to an even larger audience and help even more people. I think I can speak for Teri on this, I feel we both appreciate the opportunity that's being offered to us for one simple reason. There's folks confused and scared and dumbfounded by this disease, and we have an opportunity to help wherever we can. There's doctors and health professionals and social service people out there who are completely ignorant regarding what having and curing hep-c entails, they're as ignorant as Teri and I were when we were diagnosed, and this is a chance to educate those folks from a 'been there done that' perspective that they can't get from anyone who hasn't traveled that road. And we can do it with love and patience, reaching a bigger audience than we ever dreamed of. Remember, they're going to have an ongoing search for folks who've reached SVR and would like to help others. Teri and I are getting in early, but we would love every one of you to join us. Being on this team, I think we'll be able to fast track or at least advise others on this site as opportunities come up, or as you reach SVR yourself with a slain dragon lying behind you. Life is much more fun when thought of as a scavenger hunt as opposed to a surprise party. Jimmy Buffett
