WOW...what a real piece of work he turned out to be. But what doesn't break us, makes us stronger. I think you must be superhuman by now. I'm thinking 60 is definitely the new 20. Go Girl!!!!

RamonaThe belief that my Higher Power has a plan for me, is all that got me through my 2nd treatment and then the liver cancer!! I just knew inside, that all of this was for a reason and I still believe that. Just this past week, I thought that my HP was wanting me to move over to Vancouver (Canada) and get deeply involved in a HepC Association. However, that did not work out for right now and so, I just calmly came back home to await further instructions.Another thing that happened along the path to my getting well, was that my husband could no longer cope with my illness. So, in the middle of June, we signed a Separation Agreement. Some days, I think it is sooo sad that I had to watch my husband piss on his own values and principals, just to be able to convince himself that what he was doing was entirely selfish. However, why would I want to stay in a marriage that had sunk to that

level??However, I refuse to even let that get me down for very long!! My HP didn't take my hand down two treatments of the HP medication, followed by liver cancer - just so that I fall apart because my marriage to a self-centred man failed as well. NOPE. I'm gonna be 60 yrs old here, far too soon for my liking BUT don't they say that life begins again at 60???Gloria

Hey Cheryl,

I can't get over how much better I feel this weekend since drinking more. I too have been a sipper now I'm a gulper. I'm not at a gallon yet but am trying.

I am in week 20...whoopy!!! I am genotype 1a. I started with a viral count of 16 million and at week 12 was undetectable. I know it isn't absolute but it does give me hope. Now if I can deal with the cirrohsis that this caused. It scares me most. But I believe that God has a plan. I am so encouraged by your response to all this poison. You are making lasagna? What time is dinner???

Ramona,

Being hydrated really effects my sides. I hate it because I was never a drinker, I am a sipper...lol I have to force myself to drink a gallon of water a day. But if I can do it, I will barely have any sides. Sorry to hear you had the stomach thing also, not fun! Yesterday because I went into the Friday shot dehydrated, I ran a fever all day, was clammy and had zero energy. I drank over a gallon of water and feel pretty good today. Just got back from shopping and going to throw a lasagna together for dinner and finish my housework and back to resting later.

What week shot are you on? I can't remember if you said, but what genotype are you? I am a 1a and just did week 5 shot friday. At my 4 week check I was undectable and hep c negative. My doctor said I am an early responder and my changes of clearing it went from 50% to 80%. I was really hyped about that :D

Take care and remember to drink water, watch out for the water witch Teri, she'll get on you if she hasn't already

Huggssss

Hey Cheryl,

Hang in there. I still do the thing of a couple bites then done. I found that yogurt helped a lot. It settled my stomach and seemed to taste good every time. I had a bad week last week. Now that I understand the water thing, I think I was very dehydrated. I also had a stomach thing on Wednesday. I started drinking more water this weekend and am amazed how much better I am feeling. It is exciting for me to have energy to cook and even clean house.

Hugs and prayers for you.

to answer your question about eating, yes I am. The water makes me really full and I find when I sit down to eat I just eat a couple of bites then I am full. So I try to eat several small meals and snacks and that has been helping.

Thanks

Cheryl

Cheryl,

There is a formula out there somewhere to figure out how much water you need on treatment by your weight. Can't remember the formula, but when you're thinking you're drinking enough, you're still not. Trust me on this one.. I got thru 48 weeks of treatment drinking like crazy and still had to be treated for dehydration and malnutrition when tx was over. However much you are currently drinking.. double it. Hang in there with the treatment sweetie, you're doing so good. Rest when you need to rest and just let the tx do it's thing. Have you been able to eat okay? This too shall pass.

I promise.

Hugs,Teri

Don, you are such a wonderful man. The compassion and caring you have for us, just helps so much in this tx. I am having such a hard time today, been running a fever and can't lift my head from the bed. Had a stomach thing this week that dehydrated me and I am sure that's why I am having such a bad day. But reading your encouragement is helpful. I just wanted to write you and thank you for always reminding us about what to do on tx and cheering us on. God Bless you Don!!!

  • 4 weeks later...

Ramona,

It is such a struggle everyday. After my horrible weekend, I feel much better but as you know the rash I have is consuming my life. Hopefully doc will get me something to make it stop. I am so sorry you are having a rough time. I also need to continue working, luckily I do daycare in my home and if I need to rest I can just lay down and then back up to do what needs to be done. I am heading into week 10 of tx and Teri said week 10 - 30 were the worst for her. I am so afraid that I won't be able to continue to work if I get sicker. Trying my best to drink more water, I think that is most of my problem. Now I walk around the house with my cup of water and a back scratcher for the rash...LOL I hope you will be able to continue working or maybe they can let you work from home. I hope you are feeling better soon and god bless you in this journey through hell!! That's what I call it now...LOL

Hey Teri,

I have been so sick this entire week that I have not been able to work at all. I have found out that I caught a bug from several of my students. That would explain why I feel so much worse. I'm trying to ride it out. I do think that I am going to have to talk to my boss and our HR director about what my options are. I know that if I can't keep enough dollars coming in, I will have to continue to work. I can't lose my house over this monster. I feel a bit trapped. I need to chat with my people and let them guide me. I just know that I am struggling.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Hugs,

Ramona

Hi Ramona... My birthday was amazing.. thank you.

Now as for you... If you start having a hard time at work, throw in the towel. Sometimes we just can't do it. You are a much stronger woman than I am.. My doc originally told me I would be off work for 2 to 10 weeks. Then he said.. maybe a few more months... I've been off work ever since and I've been done with treatment for years! There is no way in hell I could have worked during treatment. I don't know how you do it girlfriend. More power to you.

Drink lots of water... it should help a bit.

Hugs,

Teri

Hey Teri,

I hope you had a great birthday!!!!!

I'm doing better emotionally. Physically, I'm still pretty sick. Spent most of the day yesterday in bed. I have to go to work today. It is going to be so hard. But I am hoping that once I'm there I will feel a bit better having my mind off how bad I feel.
