Guest guest
What do you mean by no dialation? I'm not info smart on this procedure. Even if I have moved cross country a dr may not take me? I know that I called a dr on our ins and wanted to make an app to see her, she wouldn't take me because I'm on pain management. I didn't want to see a reg dr for that, but I do need a referral from my pcp before my ins will pay. Luckily I found a dr that I had seen before when I was here for a couple of months. They already have an app for me to see a pain management dr. He had no problem with it. I just wish that my health was good enough for me not to need a dr for any reason at all. Thanks for the site for dr. Pam From: moonshadow.sandy <moonshadow.sandy@...> Subject: Re: I have a question Date: Saturday, October 10, 2009, 9:00 AM Hi, Pam - try the surgeon locator on the Inamed site: http://www.lapband. com/ some docs will not accept another's patients, largely becuase of the liability. But call around and you'll likely find one. Do be sure you've has a recent fluoro to be sure there is no dilation - that can be a reason for feeling we need more fill too. A new doc will probably want one anyway, as well as a surgical report and fill history. you can work on getting these sent to you now. Sandy r > > Hi, > I haven't posted in awhile. We were living in Texas when I had my surgery and have since moved to Ohio. My Dr in Tx was supposed to refer me to a Dr here in of Ohio, but I haven't been able to get ahold of him. Does anyone know of one in the Cleveland area, or even Youngstown or even in western Pa. I need to have an adjustment done. > Thanks in advance. > Pam Lenhart >
Guest guest
Pam, one of the common problems after banding is developing an enlarged pouch (or esophagus) , also called a " dilation " . This happens if we consistently overeat after we have reached a good fill level, or if we try to keep an overfill. We have to always limit ourselves to 1-1.5 cups of food total per meal, whether the band stops us or not. We all need periodic fluoro evaluations to be sure we are not developing a dilation or other problem. If we have a dilation, people can often assume they simply need more fill. THis is why I'm suggesting you get a fluoro eval before just going for more fill. If people do have a dilation, getting more fill is not safe and just the opposite of the correct treatment. Be sure you find and use only a band specialist for your band treatment. We all will need regular band care by a specialist for life. Your pain management is also a specialized area, and you need to see a pain specialist or enroll in a pain management clinic for that. This is totally different care than that which the band needs. But do be very careful of any oral pain medication you need - all meds must be smaller than an aspirin, liquid, or cut up small or crushed. Otherwise , they can cause severe damage to the stoma. Please see the " Medication safety issues " document here in the files for more on this. Also, please see the document called " Slips - what is a band slip? " for more on dilations. These are all important things we need to know about, and especially how to prevent them. Please let us know how you're doing. Sandy r > > > > Hi, > > I haven't posted in awhile. Guest guest
I've been reading the posts here and I have a question about pre-treatment eye exams. I'm scheduled for my annual eye exam Sept 1st and my gastro the 10th. What is the liver doc looking for and what is needed to be known for my eye dr need to look for or take notice of that my gastro will need to know? I need to know this so I can explain to my eye dr, what my gastro needs to know. Does that all make sense? Debbie @ Trudy...Did you ever find Killians quilt pictures? I downloaded pics from Jens baby shower in facebook, so they are there at the end of the Baby Killian album. Debbie
Guest guest
Oh yes !! I loved the quilt !! I know Mama and Son luv it too !! the eye dr will need to dialate, I think. Don posted something not too long ago about eye exams pre-tx. It has something to do with retina and possible detachment(?) or veins that feed the eye(?). I'm sure Don can te us the link.http://facebook.com/people/andTrudy-Kinsey/1340460877 " "A well- behaved woman never made history"...Mae Westhttp://oktravels.wordpress.com http://allrecipes.com/cook/TrudyK/profile.aspx On Aug 19, 2010, at 11:39 PM, "sparkles43d" <sparkles43d@...> wrote: I've been reading the posts here and I have a question about pre-treatment eye exams. Guest guest
DebbieI believe that you just need to let your eye Dr. know about the HepC and the upcoming tx. They would be on the look out for any diseases in the eye.Actually, the first time I was on tx, the eye exam was not a requirement.Gloria I've been reading the posts here and I have a question about pre-treatment eye exams. Guest guest
Absolutely! Your body needs Iodine for more than just the thyroid. I was 6 years thyroidless when I started on the protocol. I was actually trying to eliminate recurrent thyroid cancer. Buist, ND HC I have a question Hello, I’m new to this group, I’ve been a member for a couple of months. I have a friend, a male (don’t know if that matters), who’s thyroid was removed (I think it was cancer, but I can’t remember at the moment). He’s been on medication ever since. Do you think this protocol would be beneficial for him? I’m seriously considering telling him about this group. Vicki (in Reno, NV)
