Guest guest
I went out today to find soem organic coffee, to use for enema's. I can't figure out what to buy. they have so many selections, Breakfast blend, Mexican blend, jamacin blend, french roast, english brew, etc, etc. Don't they make just regular everyday, ordinary coffee any more? What do other people use. I'm so confused, so frustrated. Klaus
Guest guest
What's the difference from taking coffee from the top down or the bottom up since it is one big drain from your mouth to your butt? I don't get why you are not supposed to drink coffee but it is ok to use as am enema. Doesn't it stimulate the intestine either way and isn't it absorbed in the intestine either way? Sorry if this seems gross to some on the list who are not battling cancer, I just don't know how else to ask this question. I guess I could blame that on the part of my brain that the doc removed LOL. Eileen Re: Question about coffee I went out today to find soem organic coffee, to use for enema's. Guest guest
Sovereign57 The truth about coffee enemas is not hard to find and/or understand -- if you care to look -- which I suspect you do not. The main mechanism for detoxification on the Gerson Therapy occurs through the use of coffee enemas. The scientific and biological effects of this unusual but crucial procedure are well documented. Briefly, the coffee enema has been shown in the medical literature to stimulate production of enzymes in the liver that enhance the removal of toxins and waste materials from the bloodstream, while also promoting increased bile flow. The enemas are used both for detoxification and for pain relief, and their safety and efficacy is well documented; in tens of thousands of patients treated in the past 50 years, there are only two reports of complications in the medical literature, and in both cases, the patients were misusing the treatment and were not under the care of a physician. Supplements and medications The Gerson Therapy uses several common, readily available supplements and medications to stimulate cellular metabolism, support liver function, enhance detoxification and help the body digest and absorb the large quantities of food consumed on the diet. Potassium, thyroid, iodine, (as Lugol's solution) , are prescribed and administered under a doctor's care. Crude liver extract, pancreatic and digestive enzymes, co-enzyme Q-10, and other natural further enhance the healing process. All medications and supplements used by the Gerson Therapy are classed as biologicals, and are either FDA approved or exempt from regulation. The science behind the therapy The Gerson therapy is strongly rooted in sound scientific and biochemical principles. The core dietary and biochemical principles developed by Max Gerson, MD have been repeatedly validated over the last 40 years in over 300 articles in the peer-reviewed medical literature. The two senior physicians at Meridien have enhanced and refined the application of Gerson's protocol through careful empirical study in combination with review of the latest advances in nontoxic approaches to healing. The resulting protocol, as practiced at Meridien, offers the most up-to-date approach to treatment, while still adhering 100% to Gerson's original ideals. One of the most crucial principles of Gerson medicine is the synergistic interaction between the three primary elements of the treatment. Without a complete understanding of all of the implications, any alterations, deviations, or other variations from Gerson's original protocol, no matter how slight, can adversely impact the effectiveness of the treatment. The interaction of the nutritional, detoxification, and supplementation elements have a synergistic effect; the whole effect is much greater than the sum of the parts. Some of the most important aspects follow: 1. Reduced protein intake is combined with the near elimination of sodium and dietary fats. Numerous studies show that temporary protein reduction stimulates enhanced T-cell immune response. The curtailing of dietary fat and sodium contributes to rapid reduction in intracellular edema and enhanced cellular waste elimination, cell respiration, and cell function. 2. Thyroid, iodine, and potassium supplementation acts to dramatically increase both metabolic and cellular potassium absorption, as well as providing non-specific enhancement of immune response, and, in most cases, rapid, long-term reduction of pain. Other supplements like niacin, pancreatin, acidoll-pepsin, and liver extract improve circulation, augment digestion, and improve liver function. 3. Detoxification through the coffee enemas enhance toxin elimination and creates a biochemical stimulation of the glutathione-s-transferase system, up to 700% above normal levels within the liver, which substantially enhances the liver's ability to remove toxins from the blood. The enemas also enhance bile flow, further improving the liver's ability to process and rid itself of waste material. About Max Gerson, MD Born in 1881 in Wongrowitz, Germany, Max Gerson is increasingly being seen as one of the most forward-thinking medical minds of the 20th century. Gerson, while pursuing his medical education, suffered from debilitating migraine headaches. He found that he could prevent them by eliminating fatty, salty, and preserved foods from his diet. With the encouragement of his patients, he began using his diet to treat tuberculosis with remarkable success, ultimately lecturing about his diet therapy through Europe until a hostile environment in pre-war Germany forced him to emigrate in 1933. Gerson continued to modify his diet therapy, eventually using it to successfully treat a wide range of ailments, including heart and kidney failure, lupus, and finally cancer. Gerson emigrated to the United States and was licensed to practice medicine in New York in 1938. He continued to treat cancer patients, and in 1946 had the distinction of demonstrating his dietary therapy in front of the Pepper-Neely Congressional Subcommittee. The committee heard testimony from several physicians who had seen firsthand the results of Gerson's treatment, and from five patients who, under Gerson's care, had recovered from " terminal " cancers. Gerson practiced medicine until his death in 1959, one year after his landmark book A Cancer Therapy was published. He was eulogized by close friend Albert Schweitzer, whose wife Gerson had cured of tuberculosis: " I see him as one of the most eminent geniuses in the history of medicine. Many of his basic ideas have been adopted without having his name connected with them. He has achieved more than seemed possible under adverse conditions. He leaves a legacy which commands attention and which will assure him his due place. Those whom he cured will now attest to the truth of his ideas. " About the Gerson Therapy ********* My comments. It is my understanding the the NCI is presently subsidizing a clinicial trial of coffee enemas for cancer patients with Dr. , M.D. in New York. Guest guest
Gerald, Thank you for the information but your comment is way out of line. The truth about coffee enemas is not hard to find and/or understand -- if you care to look -- which I suspect you do not. I was diagnosed with Brain/Lung cancer 11/1/2001 when a tumor was shutting off the 4th vetrical in my brain which caused fluid build up, intense headaches, visual disturbances, staggering, low body temp (95.2), erratic blood pressure and an inability to care for my 3 year old. For two months before this the doctors thought I simply had an allergy related sinus problem. I had the brain tumor removed and have been doing intense research to heal the nodule the doctors say is in my lung. So I am not an old hat at this like some of you so you really should not be so hard on someone asking a question. You could not possibly know what I care to understand. I am 44 years old and am the 3rd sister to develope lung cancer. My other 2 sisters were 32 when they developed this dis-ease. My mother and grandfather also died from lung cancer. Radiation treatments killed 3 of the 4 by speeding up the growth rate of the cancer. The other sister had chemo and surgery in 1990, she is still walking around but nearly died from the treatment. I know it is toxins in my system that caused this to happen as I complained for the past 2 years about obvious toxic symptoms to my doctor. I am currently detoxifying and will heal from this dis-ease. My body is already showing signs of improvement. I just want to help it as best I can. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I have read in several of the natural cure programs to avoid coffee because of the caffeine. It just seems to me that since it stimulates the digestive process with ingestion by drinking that I honestly don't know what the difference is about which way it goes in. If you were to tell me that the digestive juices lessen the amount of stimulation, changes the chemistry, that the biochemical stimulation of the glutathione-s-transferase system is lessened or something like that, then that would make sense. But since it is the colon that absorbs liquids, I just wanted to know what the difference was on the way it goes in. Most of the natural protecols call for high enema's. So my curiosity is about the coffee. Eileen Re: Question about coffee > > > > > > I went out today to find soem organic coffee, to > > use for enema's. Guest guest
Sovereign57: My comments merely reflect my experiences on this and other cancer boards. Week after week, month after month, we wade through the cries for help from people who have been stricken with this horrble disease who, apparently, have never given this a damned thought in all of their lives ---- until after theyyy get it!!!!!!!!! It saddens me and perhaps I've become cynical. You see, I believe, before these alternative therapies can really offer you the most protection, is before you get the disease --- not years after, years after your entire family tree sucumbs to cancer!!! Although I don't want you to lose hope, there are many exceptions! You have much to think about, much to learn and I am just so surprised that you would raise the question you have raised in the (flippant?) manner you chose. How many times have I heard, when discussing coffee enemas, the pejorative remark. " I prefer my coffee inserted in the other end " ? I do not consider your question a serious one, rather I consider your remarks as qualifying more as " schmoozing " than as an effort to research information. Now, please -- get to work and prove me wrong! Guest guest
You know what? Gerald; I think your comments were way out of line, as well. I don't know anyone that spends much time at all researching stuff that doesn't really seem to impact their lives. Like cancer, for instance, May we see a show of hands, of those people that knew they were going to get cancer?????????????????????, I Myself,,,,, thought I was doing everything right. I was a vegatarian for 16 years, i studied many different healing techniques( which most people don't do) I thought I was happy, and reasonably healthy, and had no clue I would get cancer even the first time, let alone the second. Yes I've known about some of these cancer cures, like the basics, b-17, vegatarian diet, releasing negative emotions, etc. But until you're in it your self you go through life thinking you have all the answers. I'm here to tell you you don't, and neither did I. When you get cancer and only then, is when you find out just how much you really don't know. Like dosages, and exactly, how to release these negative emotions. And about the coffee enema's , I thought I hand that all undercontrol until I actually went in to a store to buy coffee. I had no idea that the yuppies had stuffed their influence even into the organic coffee industry. You also find out how many people in the world, think they know something, but when it comes right down to it, haven't a clue. Like counselors, and hypnotists, and almost all the other " Healers " in the world. You also find out what your friends are really made of, and how much support you really have available, (practically none) as well as the nearly total incompetance of the medical profession. I really think you need to rethink your position on this. There are a lot of people that have never heard of Gerson or his diet or enema's. You need to find some humility so that you can spread the word about this very important eliment of healing cancer. Rather than detracting from my original concern about what kind of coffee I need to buy. I need something that I can get locally. Not have to wait for 2 weeks to get. Guest guest
Thanks Klaus, I had been a big coffee drinker for years and giving it up was not easy but if it will help me then so be it. I used to kid with my friends to just hook my coffee pot up to an iv LOL. I have picked up Hulda 's book and read data where it is recommended to stay away from caffiene and I think I will follow this advice instead. Some of the others recommend essiac, red clover or other herbs for this same purpose. I was told it was healthy to maintain my sense of humor during all of this and I've done a pretty good job of that even if it does seem flippant to others. Like when the brain surgeon said if the tumor returns in my brain that they can use a gamma knife. I thought, oh great, he'll use his ray gun and burn holes in my brain. I told my boys 7 & 9 who are old enough to understand that I had a soar in my head that the doctors had to fix, they don't know their mom is dealing with cancer. It isn't easy to keep your chin up all the time but I do it for them. My 3 year old little girl helps me load the hopper of my juicer and willing tastes the concoctions mom comes up with even though some have been a bad mix or tasted like it smells when daddy cuts the grass. We laugh and make funny faces at each other. I decided to come to these boards because I have great faith in God that I will heal from this dis-ease and since their is not much mention of lung cancer here that others would have hope. I have been to some of the conventional boards and their is such an aire of doom and gloom. I get angry when I read some doctor that replies to a persons quest with hope and the doctor tells them their is no hope. This dis-ease knocks us down a few pegs on it's own without someone else adding to it. I have started a 30 day juice fast using Dr Schutze Incurables Program. This morning I made sure I filled up on my juices before making breakfast for my family. It was very tempting to bite into one of those buttermilk biscuits LOL. But I was a good girl :-) I was told to wash my produce with a product called Fit and maybe that would help wash your coffee beans with. I would think that all coffee is sprayed with something since it is imported, that is unless you live where they grow it locally. I also use flax seed oil with my morning mix of 2 oranges, 1/2 lemmon, 1 clove garlic & 1 inch of ginger. It seems to bind with the juice after I stir it up and I take it with one capsule of MSM to make sure I have enough sulfer for binding, just in case. Dr Day has also been an inspiration and although I do not have her video's she did do a radio interview that is published on line. I mention this because she used the Gerson method as her base therapy in combination with others. It is 3 pages and I enjoyed reading it. Here is the link in case anyone else would like to read it. http://members.aol.com/vetcenter1/cancer1.htm Regards, Eileen Re: Question about coffee >> >> >> > Sovereign57 >> > The truth about coffee enemas is not hard to find >> > and/or understand -- if you care to look -- which >> I >> > suspect you do not. Guest guest
Sovereign57 You, having had a brain tumor removed and already talking about a gamma knife procedure, should it reoccur, need be familiar with this option. I had the misfortune to tune into Adelphia Cable Channel 23 last night re St. Jude Medical Clinic treating children with medullblastoma with radiation and chemo therapy. THERE IS A NON TOXIC CURE FOR MEDULLBLASTOMA FROM THE BURZYNSKI CLINIC IN HUSTON, TEX. (WWW.CANCERMED.COM). You can read testimonials from the " Patients Page " from children who have been given little time to live but are alive and well several years later. Consider giving this treatment equal time. Though not yet approved by the FDA, there are 72 clinical trials being conducted, the results from which are astounding. Don Schendel Mission Hills, Calif. Also visit BurzynskiSupport and, if at all possible, purchase the Dr. Day tape, " Cancer Doesn't Scare Me Anymore " . Guest guest
Hi Eileen; Actually I was planning on trying the coffee enema's, My doc, advocates them and many people at the clinic I go to, I'm told, are doing them. But this is one of those subjects, like sex, that people don't want to discuss. I've asked all sorts of people how to do this. No one will tell me. I did get a response from Mildred (thanks) and she gave the best response she could, but I was hoping for more of a brand name that I could purchase locally. As for the rest of my response, I just really took offense of Geralds comment about people not researching all the alternatives cancer treatments before they got cancer. I thought that was quite ludicris. We have our live to live before we get cancer, after, we are so over whelmed with everything that we can't research everything. That's why we have groups like this. Thanks for the info about your regimen, all of this helps. Guest guest
Hi Klaus, When my mom and 2 sisters were diagnosed 1984-1990 the doctors told us it was genetic and some environmental exposure must have triggered it. My mom worked for the subway (fumes) and my 2 sisters were exposed to chemicals with their jobs. The doctors also told us remaining 3 sisters that we had a 1 in 4 (genetic) chance of getting this dis-ease even if we were never exposed to 2nd hand smoke. I moved out to the country and stayed away from as many toxins as possible thinking that was a safer way to live. At no time as we have all come to learn did the doctor ever talk about nutrition or foods that would help give us added protection. The only thing they added to their warning was to watch our alkaline phosphate levels whenever we had blood work as that would be an indicator of this dis-ease. Funny thing, when I had the brain tumor removed my blood level of alkaline phosphates was smack dab in the middle, it basically will indicate bone involvement. I have to admit my diet was poor but that was mainly due to the pain in my abdomen that never went away after my appendectomy. Anyway, based upon the misconception of the doctors for this disease I was given bad information that never lead me to research this arena. Plus at the time the internet was not what it is today and I wasn't even online then. My mom had tried the high vitamin C route but the doctors were killing her with radiation treatments. She once asked us to just put her out on the porch in the middle of winter so she could catch pneumonia and die. Now I find this cold shock treatment might have actually been helpful. One of my daily routines is hot and cold showers to pump the lymph glands plus sitting on a 36 " trampoline and bouncing for the same reason. I picked one of these little trampolines up at Wal-Mart for $20. When I told my sister who went the chemo route 11 years ago about my decision she reminded me that my mom tried the vitamin route and it didn't help her. I kindly told her that I know a lot more than mom did back then LOL. The doctors think they can cure me by cutting me but what they don't tell me is the 50% reoccurrence or full body explosion of the dis-ease after surgery. The doctors will only confirm my research after I tell them I know the statistics. How sad I felt when I went to the oncologists office. I thought, how many of you are they killing. The oncologist even has a bowl of candy at the sign in desk. I thought, great go ahead and feed these people's sugar craving tumors. I am going to give my oncologist a piece of my mind concerning his candy bowl the next time I see him and suggest he put a water cooler in its place. After all isn't thirst or a dry mouth why someone would reach for that candy. Not only that, how much thrush from the chemo these patients have had is it feeding! So you are right, I was led to look in the wrong direction even with this family history of cancer. I no longer look at it as a genetic form of lung cancer but more as a genetic tendency towards a weakness in the immune system. I work on my families genealogy and may have mentioned earlier that I found another distant cousin line that also has this tendency in the females. I have been sending all that I have been finding to a weak cousin who is also battling this lung cancer right now and have passed on this info to my other cousins so that they can educate their families about a tendency towards a weakness in the immune system. Hopefully more lives in my family will be saved rather than lost. God Bless us all and Merry Christmas, Eileen PS) Thank you Gerald, I read your message about Bursynski and have been reading the data on his research as well as taking shark liver oil for 30 days. I read a person needs a break from it like some of the other supplements. I was taking the apricot kernels but ground up they irritated my sinuses. I then tried mixing them with a little honey to make a ball that I can swallow without them washing up the back of my throat, it helped a lot. Now I am sprouting mung beans so I can cut back on the apricot kernels for my B-17. I also use castor oil packs on my chest (affected area) at night. I've also added transfer factor and transfer factor plus to my daily supplements as the research seems to indicate a strong boost in macrophage activity and 1 oz of essiac tea. I cheated a little on my juice regiment and ate some fresh blueberries and they passed right through me within 4 hours so how's that for getting to work on my system LOL. Guest guest
Hi Eileen; thanks for your story, I can see that you've been through a lot. I've experienced that raw sugar thing, at the Cancer Wellness house, this is supposed to be a support group for people dealing with cancer. they serve cakes and pies, and name brabd potatoe chips and oscar meyer weiners, on wonder bread hot dog bun. They know nothing about alternatives and what's worse is that they don't care to either. I adressed the issue of excess glugose intake with the last oncologist I was seeing. Her response was that the whole body needs glucose, even the brain, so it's ok to eatthese things. good luck in your battle. (there should be a better way to say that?) It's not exactly what I mean. I'm noy trying to imply that it's all about luck. Guest guest
Hi Klaus, A day or 2 ago Melinda gave some very good info on coffe enemas; suggesting a web site. At this site you can purchase special coffee and equipment very reasonably. There you can also get good directions and procedures. The site is www.sawilsons.com. Guest guest
Gerald, negative judgement is a reflection of the judge's weakness. We all learn things differently, and a positive outlook is what we need here if we are to help folks. If someone is asking for help, they don't need to hear about how lame they are for not looking enough before they ask their questions here. It was an innocent question that didn't seem flippant to me at all, and I think you jumped to conclusions based on an assumption...which is probably fitting your definition of flippant. > > Gerald, > > > > Thank you for the information but your comment is > > way out of line. > > > > The truth about coffee enemas is not hard to find > > and/or understand -- if you care to look -- which I > > suspect you do not. > > > > I was diagnosed with Brain/Lung cancer 11/1/2001 > > when a tumor was shutting > > off the 4th vetrical in my brain which caused fluid > > build up, intense > > headaches, visual disturbances, staggering, low body > > temp (95.2), erratic > > blood pressure and an inability to care for my 3 > > year old. Guest guest
Eileen, I've seen a few of Dr. Day's videos and I love her! I've also seen about 20 hours of Schulze videos and I think his are the best at treating " incureable " diseases that I've seen so far. Look into Dr. Schulze if you haven't. Here is a website by one of his students: http://www.learnhealth.org/patient/ And another excellent site that includes Dr. Schulze, but also many more: http://www.curezone.com/schulze/default.asp You sound very positive and that's great! Keep the faith!! eulypian > >> Gerald, > >> > >> Thank you for the information but your comment is > >> way out of line. > >> > >> The truth about coffee enemas is not hard to find > >> and/or understand -- if you care to look -- which I > >> suspect you do not. > >> > >> I was diagnosed with Brain/Lung cancer 11/1/2001 > >> when a tumor was shutting > >> off the 4th vetrical in my brain which caused fluid > >> build up, intense > >> headaches, visual disturbances, staggering, low body > >> temp (95.2), erratic > >> blood pressure and an inability to care for my 3 > >> year old. Guest guest
hey Duncan, Sorry, I meant to include this question in my previous post as well. This question is for you and for the members - anyone who can chime in. What's your take on coffee and candida/dysbiosis? I've read both sides of the argument..good for you vs bad for you. I don't really struggle with the strict low carb diet but I *really* struggle to give up my morning cup of coffee. I haven't noticed any difference when I give it up vs when I don't but not sure if daily coffee will make replinishing my good flora any harder in the long run. Thoughts? Thanks Lori
