Biancka, are you referring to a balloon dilation or the witzel? Sounds like a lot for balloon but that is what's most often used for Achalasia. Guest guest
I don't have any advice on this, Bianka. Multiple repeated dilations in a short period of time aren't a treatment that I've ever heard of before. Forgive my bad memory, but have you had the surgery? I can't remember who has done what so far. Debbi in Michigan

Guest guest
No, I havent had the surgery. Over here in The Netherlands the dilatations are recommended before surgery. And I dont think I am very keen on the surgery anyway. My specialist wants to take it slowly with the dilations and up with an opening of 6cm. He gaines about 1cm opening per week. So I should have a 4cm opening at this moment. Hugs, Biancka Re: Very scared I don't have any advice on this, Bianka. Guest guest
My specialist is taking things very slowly because he doesnt want the muscle to rupture. So......I have to undergo at least 6 dilations. I hope he isnt making things worse. Gosh, I just want to be able to eat a normal meal again. 'A' really *****. Excuse my language:-( Biancka Re: Very scared Biancka: wrote:>I had my 4th dilatation last tuesday and I will have to have 2 or 3 more >the next couple of weeks.I don't recall anyone else having so many in a short period. Guest guest
Hi Biancka, I was very shocked when I read your post. I am sure you researched your specialist before allowing him to perform all of these dilatations, but it just sounds so different from the usual procedures discussed in our group. I have had dilatations in the past, but only when I really needed them, certainly not on a schedule. Are you on a J tube? Are you truly unable to eat anything? Wow! I wish I knew more about Medical Facilities in The Netherlands. I feel so very sorry for the condition you are in. Even at the worst of times, I can still have sips of ensure and a few mouthfuls of soup. I hope you will tell us a little more about yourself and how you are feeling. You mentioned things got worse because of your pregnancy. (Please forgive me for not taking the time to read your past posts). Are you currently pregnant, and the dilatations are a temporary "fix" before surgery? Best of luck with everything, . A warm welcome to all of the new members who have recently joined. , I think of you all the time. March 19th is really not that far away. I'm confident you will be as healthy as after your esophagus is removed. Thank you also to and Debbi for your recent posts. (Yes, it's beautiful here in Thunder Bay with all the snow, but I have a large black lab and I don't always get outside to clean up "doggy doo" in between snowfalls. Spring will be very messy) I am unable to post as frequently as I did before as I am looking after five kids right now, one is my own and I have four foster children. The oldest boy is 12 and has ADHD, so it's been hectic around here. Have a great day! Very scared I had my 4th dilatation last tuesday and I will have to have 2 or 3 more the next couple of weeks. I am getting used to the dilatations but I am so afraid I wont be able to eat after all those dilatations. My specialist wants an opening of about 6cm and it should be enough but I haven't eaten anything since Oct. 21st of last year and I feel like I have lost 'control' of my 'A'. Has anyone in this group been in the same situation ??? On Feb. 10th my specialist will probably do the last dilatation and after that he will tell me I can eat again. I am terrified of that first bite......will it go down, will I choke, will the food get stuck ??? It has been such a long time ago since I have eaten anything. I just want to be able to eat again like I did before things got worse (because of my pregnancy). I could eat everything.......I just needed lots of water to push it down with. My specialist has told me that he is convinced that I can eat again after the dilatations. I wish I was as convident as he is. Guest guest
I just had a Heller myotomy on Monday--with great success. Every doctor I spoke with recommended against the dilations. Talk to more doctors--see what others have to say. Yes, I will be out of commission for two weeks, but after that, I should be done with the procedures. I am young, and in the early stages of A, so the success rate is high. Get all of the information you can. The idea of the dilation freaked me out because they can perforate the lining of the esophagus, and that can put you in the hospital for weeks recovering....laproscopic surgery is so easy and clean theses days...I have 5 small incisions (all about 1/2 inch long) on my stomach, and the pain is very manageable. jes Portland, maine -----Original Message-----From: : b i a n c k a : [mailto:biancka@...]Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 12:48 PMachalasia Subject: Re: Very scared No, I havent had the surgery. Guest guest
Biancka, Sounds like too many balloon dialations in such a short period of time. Have you had a second opinion? I would really talk to some surgeons who treat those with achalasia and get their opinion. The lap surgery has changed my life dramatically, I feel terrific now. Having the balloon so many times is a very uncontrolled procedure and you could rip your E, not to mention a lot of scar tissue. Lap surgery is very controlled and more accurate. I understand I was terrified of surgery also, but I am so happy I did it. I just have 5 small scars on my stomache to show for it. Guest guest
It absolutely IS the meds. Ive never had the experience of self harm thoughts or suicidal thoughts and i now experience them. It started while i was on paxil...and it has continued in the 15 months since my withdrawal. Just this morning i woke up and had a really hard time waking up. I was in the tub describing to my husband that i had a sensation of pain in my arms that the only way i could think of relieving it would be to severely damage my arms. Its due to the imbalance in serotonin. low serotonin causes aggressive thougths and/or actions. You are having a reaction to the zoloft. You might want to get a second or third opinion. find a doctor who understands the possible side effects of these drugs.....and who will safely get you offthe zoloft. Guest guest
From what I've been reading, it looks to me like this is systemic in me. I've had problems in my eye, joints, nails, etc. I just read that there's a 50% mortality rate when it's systemic.Has anyone here been diagnosed as having it in their blood and gotten rid of it successfully? If so, how? I have an appointment with an infectious disease doctor at the Cleveland Clinic on 9/10. Is there anything I should be asking him in particular? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Thank you so much for the encouragement Margaret! I've been reading books, I've learned a lot on just a few days that I was so ignorant about. My biggest problem with all of this is the diet. I've been off candy for about a month, but my symptoms are worse now. Is two or three weeks too much of a delay to be die off- I've aleady been off the candy for a month? I wanted to cry at the grocery store yesterday. Everything I wanted was on the do not eat list. I've been doing my best to stick the the good stuff the past few days, but then I crave something so bad, I cheat. It's only been just this week too that I've been learning about the diet, if I can't even handle it for a few days I don't know how I could do it all the time. I can't wrap my head around never being able to have chocolate. Honestly, it just seems like life's not worth living if I can't eat good foods, I'd rather put up with ailments and die sooner. Is there anyone here who still eats chocolate and is able to stay under control with supplements, etc.? Best wishes, Dana > > > > I had the worst case of it---I had the cracks in corners of mouth, white > tongue, terrible digestive problems, was on antibiotics from MD every other > month for sinus infections, etc. etc. ALL MY LIFE........yes it was > systemic.... > the last 3 years were the worst in my entire life---I totally crashed with > major candida problems, thyroid, adrenal........ > here I am today, a year later and I'm HEALTHIER THAN I'VE EVER BEEN IN MY > LIFE.......I've changed my eating habits---I never thought I could do that, > never thought I would be where I am today---I changed everything about > what goes into my body, food, nutritionally, pills, etc........ > I have a great nutritionist who helped me with muscle testing all the > way.......... > You can change and you can get better............ > > Blessings, Margaret > " We are not held back by the love we didn't receive in the past but by the > love we're not extending in the present. Guest guest
Thank you so much for the valuable information about synbiotics Duncan! I'd never heard the term before, I started reading online about it and learned a bunch, I'm a dummy about my body. I will definitely ask the doctor what you said and thank you soooo much for the tip!!! I am extremely resentful right now at the doctors who've been misdiagnosing me, especially the one that gave me progesterone. Has anyone here confronted a doctor who has been mistreating them? Guest guest
Dana, if it's any consolation, once you've been on a good diet for several weeks, especially with supplements that address mineral deficiencies your cravings should disappear. Chromium deficiency for example causes food cravings. If anyone has real addictions, try salvia divinorum; low subpsychedelic doses have pronounced anti-addictive properties and we have actually tested that property with several addicts. Data: <http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/salvia_kappa_opioid.html> all good, Duncan > > Thank you so much for the encouragement Margaret! Guest guest
Krys-The black specks are due to chronic infections and have finally been linked to Lyme disease, finally! It was the vets that made this connection. When people do Lyme treatment the symptoms do resolve, dramatically. It usually takes cocktails of multiple antimicrobials to heal. You're right, you can hardly blame the doctors the symptoms are so bizarre. But LLMDs are familiar with these symptoms, some more than others. It could be considered a subgroup of what they label Morgellons. AandrayaOn Dec 12, 2011, at 5:03 PM, Krys Brennand <krys109uk@...> wrote: I'll be surprised if your GP will give you ivermectin. And, in a way,who can blame them; it sounds like something out of a scifi book. If it hadn't been for the fact that my mother has certain physical external evidence (which I have since found are also experience & described by others), I'd have wondered. However, logic suggests that no-one can imagine physical evidence in being. In your place I'd try to convince your GP that your long term fungal infection needs treatment. Fungus is something GPs can cope with. They know it happens, they'll have learnt about it & the idea of it is not going to blow their minds & have them thinking you're delusional. No doubt, first they'll give you creams but you may be able to persuade them to give you an internal anti fungal such as many here have found successful. If you really want to try ivermectin it is readily available for farm animals at agricultural merchants. It is exactly the same drug. I think some people here have used the horse paste but the others are just as usable. Lots of people use the cattle pour on or the injectable (not injected of course). My mother also had the black dots under the skin, which is weird, as none of the known types of bird mite, which are said to affect humans, are burrowing mites. I don't know what is happening there. I wonder, could it be something to do with fungus? Or maybe it some type of burrowing mite which has not yet been documented? There are far more types of mite which are not scientifically classified than mites which are. Guest guest
Hi, all!The black specks we had was only in the environment and not on or in us. They disappeared when we moved. Do you think that was still from infections, or mold or fungus or something you get with the mites? It is written about it on birdmites.org to come with the mites..? KR Cecilia From: "Goldstein@..." <Goldstein@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2011 12:31 AMSubject: Re: very scared I agree with Aandraya about most likely needing antibiotics - those black specs are most likely bacterial or fungal related and have nothing to do with bird mites, although they seem to coincide. Makes for a most confusing picture, right? On the one hand most of us have symptoms that are exactly like an infestation of bird mites and most of us got the situation through either gardening, contact with birds or nests, or soil, but what we see are black specks (fibers) and little cottony puff balls everywhere, on us and in the environment. Most likely fungal or could even be an unknown protozoa... but antibiotics are most likely necessary. What is really hard about the situation is that these specks could be created by a combination condition which is pre-existing in our individual bodies and that may be why only certain people get these specks/cocoons. We were perfect hosts. Krys has handled bird mites himself and had them all over hands, etc., but he never got this condition. A regular GP medical doctor will not give antibiotics without just cause nowadays. So most likely you might have to either order over the internet for the antibiotics or go to the Eurolyme site that Aandraya has mentioned for a LLMD and start antibiotics through their services. I know that all doctors require that you see them at least once. I can now just phone my doctor for a consult and new scripts, but she will not give scripts without an in person consultation for the initial work up

I can now just phone my doctor for a consult and new scripts, but she will not give scripts without an in person consultation for the initial work up
Guest guest
Aandraya, Good advise, if this is fungal antibiotics could make it worst. I have always considered a fungal connection with this beast. I did however beat this without fungal medications, or antibiotics. The fels naptha in the wash is the only laundry soap I know of to kill mites, and fungus. And of course the lye soap lotion for hair and body, followed by MMS bathes. I would use caution using high potent fungal or antibiotic treatment. Beating this for me was staying natural. Except outside where I used granules and bifen. I wish everyone healing and a blessed Holiday. I remember Christmas in 2007, it was a mitemare:), and springtails! > > >> > > >>** > > >> > > >> > > >>Hi all > > >>As u know im hoping to move this week throwin all fabrics clothes > > shoes > > >>most furniture out apart from wash machine steamer n hoover n tv > > >>And also takin food toileteries n dishes etc > > >>But scared bout washing machine n hoover being safe > > >>They only couple months old so cant aford throw > > >>But wud it be enuf to spray disinfectant? > > >>Secondly im totaly freaked out as toes sorely bitten lastnight n > > beforw i > > >>wenr bed saw the tiny black dots under the skin under my toes n > > picked out > > >>Have been told the dots are not the mites but saw black dots > > buried in hand > > >>once also > > >>Gettin rid all shoes when move, have huge problem toes bitten when > > wear > > >>socks n shoes n tights so have go barefoot in flat for my sanity > > >>Now....im very scared with the burrowing black dots that the mites > > could be > > >>under my skin > > >>And made apointment c doctor today > > >>Kaz told me last night invermectin very strong stuff > > >>But is that what id ask doc for? > > >>Or whAt else? > > >>What if i get rid o nearly everythin n they inside me? > > >>Also doc looked at me as if mad the time before > > >>May not get anything from her > > >>Will i order sulphur tabs n diatemeous earth to take internaly? > > >>Already on ac vinegar, baking sida, dida anti fungals > > >>Thanks > > >>C > > >> > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
Guest guest
I did not do antifungals early on. I did Bactrim, Doxy, and Mepron- these meds made a difference immediately and after 1 yr. I had zero bug problem. Later I added in Vfend. Did natural antibiotics as well but wasn't enough. I went off prescriptions for 6 months and Symptoms became worse. Antibiotics DO NOT make mold worse, only yeast in the gut can get worse and you must take probiotics. Many also take Nystatin for this while on long term antibiotics. Guest guest
Molds and mildew are fungi-like growths whose spores float in the air. If dealing with lyme and co-infections antibiotics are of course the choice. Taking antibiotics for a year concerns me. I would choose some alternative therapy to strengthen the immune system, not weaken it. Guest guest
There are antibiotics for fungal. These include nystatin, the azoles (including fluconazole, ketoconazole, and similar antibiotics), and amphotericin B. These work by disrupting the fungal cells' machinery. Some of these antibiotics may be applied to the skin or taken by mouth, while others must be given IV. http://www.drreddy.com/antibx.html > > > > > >> > > > > > >>** > > > > > >> > > > > > >> > > > > > >>Hi all > > > > > >>As u know im hoping to move this week throwin all fabrics > > > clothes > > > > > shoes > > > > > >>most furniture out apart from wash machine steamer n hoover n tv > > > > > >>And also takin food toileteries n dishes etc > > > > > >>But scared bout washing machine n hoover being safe > > > > > >>They only couple months old so cant aford throw > > > > > >>But wud it be enuf to spray disinfectant? > > > > > >>Secondly im totaly freaked out as toes sorely bitten lastnight n > > > > > beforw i > > > > > >>wenr bed saw the tiny black dots under the skin under my toes n > > > > > picked out > > > > > >>Have been told the dots are not the mites but saw black dots > > > > > buried in hand > > > > > >>once also > > > > > >>Gettin rid all shoes when move,have huge problem toes bitten > > > when > > > > > wear > > > > > >>socks n shoes n tights so have go barefoot in flat for my sanity > > > > > >>Now....im very scared with the burrowing black dots that the > > > mites > > > > > could be > > > > > >>under my skin > > > > > >>And made apointment c doctor today > > > > > >>Kaz told me last night invermectin very strong stuff > > > > > >>But is that what id ask doc for? > > > > > >>Or whAt else? > > > > > >>What if i get rid o nearly everythin n they inside me? > > > > > >>Also doc looked at me as if mad the time before > > > > > >>May not get anything from her > > > > > >>Will i order sulphur tabs n diatemeous earth to take internaly? > > > > > >>Already on ac vinegar,baking sida,dida anti fungals > > > > > >>Thanks > > > > > >>C > > > > > >> > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > >
