Guest guest
Hi , That's okay. You had a good reason to be gone, moving involves a lot of work. There was a great support system here to help me through, as always. You have always been helpful and supportive since the first day I joined this group! in Michigan > > > > Hello all. Guest guest
Hi, , Glad you are all moved. It's an ordeal, ain't it! I'm getting ready to move, too. Don't know where I'll end up but I'm up for an adventure, anyway. I used to live in Athens, Ga., by the way, and worked for WGTV for a while. Georgia was a very interesting place to live, slower pace than I was used to, wayyyy too much food at Southern cafes, nice people, and sticky East Coast summer heat, peach daquiris and boiled shrimp on the front porches, boiled goobers in soggy paper bags on Fridays when work was out, rides through the countryside, looking at the red clay earth, art shows in Atlanta at the High Art, and lots of other memories, including a search for the best hush puppies in town. Best wishes to you in GA., all best, Deborah
Guest guest
Deborah thank you for welcoming me back. So far we have found the area very nice and scenic. I hope your move is uneventful as can be. We had a lot of hoops to go through getting back to the states. We have a Chocolat Lab and getting her over here was a bit of fun. She did pretty well with the trip over all but after being in a kennel for about three weeks she started getting a little depressed. Good thing we bought a house and she was able to finally settle in. Thanks again in GeorgiaDeborah Lattimore <deborah_Lattimore@...> wrote: Hi, , Glad you are all moved. It's an ordeal, ain't it! Guest guest
Yes, Mike, it seems anytime I try to post to introduce myself I get rejected because you were not there. My name is Phyllis and I got my scs in 8/06 and have been doing very well with it. I was able to go back to work full time forom June until this month but then had to quit because it physically takes so much out of me that I am then no good for things around the house. i did not want to quit work, but I am unable to hold down full time any more. My back muscles are too weak, and now I have to have knee replacement surgery. I'll find out when tomorrow afternoon. I hope this message doesn'tr get rejected because I would like to have the support of anyone else who has had to resign, retire, quit? work because back can't do it any more. Thanks. Guest guest
Phyllis, I am Deanna, I am sorry to hear you are no longer working full-time. Its a very difficult transition to make. I had to stop working in sept. 2002. I miss it very much..I was way to young to give up my career. It has been very hard and many times depressing. I hate not doing things for myself. I was one of those over achiever types with perfectionist tendencies. I had my life planned out and so far it has all gone away except for marrying my childhood sweetheart, but even that didnt come about till after failing the marriage I was in when I was injured. Believe me you dont even want to get me started on the workers comp system in California. Even though I was forced into retirement/disability at only 30 years old...on the positive side I did end up running into my childhood sweetheart and am now a stay at home mom for my 2 step children...both boys. I have a difficult time keeping up with them....actually I wish I could keep up with them.......sigh...... I may never have my own children biologically but I was blessed with 3 boys (1 lives with his mom) who are good to me. To be fair there are many positives to not working and lots of alternatives for keeping the mind busy.....I am just struggling right now. I am having to deal with my losses right now, whether I like it or not. It always has to happen sooner or later. I just have to deal with the fact that my dreams arent what I dreamed, so now I am trying to develop new dreams. I have been being evaluated psychologically by numerous doctors and also physically to reach a settlement with the workers comp system....even though I have already been declared completely disabled by the government. Its time to start looking at hobbies...scrapbooking, reading, drawing, art, and the list goes on and on.................................. Good Luck Phyllis. phyldihm <phyldihm@...> wrote: Yes, Mike, it seems anytime I try to post to introduce myself I get rejected because you were not there.
