Guest guest
Hi Michele, Thank you so much for your sweet message. I missed all of you too. I had planned to take my lap top but was a bit overloaded with luggage since I was taking birthday and Mother's day gifts so I left my computer behind. I really appreciate your offer to help with the contest. Darlene offered too, and I am going to accept any time you can offer to help me sort through the results that were sent to me. This was so unexpected and unfortunately came at a time when I am a bit overloaded with so important matters to take care of. Your offer to help is like a huge blessing from Heaven. Thank you soooo much. I hate to see the contest results held up like this, but unfortunately it was out of my control. But, all is well that ends well and with your help and Darlene's help we should be able to handle it all and reward our winner with her prizes and the praise she deserves. I am looking forward to seeing the photos. I have not been able to access them yet, I think I may need to load in some kind of software to view them. This is all very exciting. I will look forward to getting this taken care of so we can all know who are worthy winner is. Take care and thank you again, you are so precious to offer to help. Guest guest
Hi , Thank you so much for this. Darlene sent me the files so I have been looking at all of your beautiful pictures. I am just so happy to see all of your sweet faces. What fun to be able to finally see what you all look like. I have had an image in my minds of how you all looked and now I don't have to imagine any longer. Sure put a smile on my face. I am trying to think of a way to do another contest that will be easier to monitor and will last longer, maybe 3 months. I will offer a nice prize, but first I have to work out the details of how to manage it. This last one kind of took me by surprise since we lost our two darlings who were going to manage it at the last minute. I need to set something up that will be more of a no brainer for me, since time is not something I have tons of. Any suggestions? Guest guest
You're welcome. I've been thinking of how to do a contest that wouldn't be so complicated and take up so much time. You have enough to do without worring about that. Let me think on it awhile and maybe we can come up with something. Anybody else have some suggestions? I do like the idea of having it last 3 months. I have to be out of town tomorrow for my grandbabys' 3rd birthday but will think about it and get back with you. Take care and I'm glad you're home safe and sound. Guest guest
Welcome back Jo! "All my closest friends live so far away that I have to travel to see them. I NEED to see them.I didn't need this computer crap." Is there anyway that they can come and visit you if you are unable to get to them? "A friend once reminded me that I could die while traveling, but he meant in just a matter of fact "what is the worst thing that could happen?' kind of a thing" Thats what I say too ... one must live in the now cause no one knows what tomorrow is going to bring. Only takes one work experience boy at the neuclar bombing headquarters to say "what does this button do" and there goes the world. "I am done moaning and groaning for now. Brother is on vacation and will be home all week so you may hear more, before I am arrested for hurting him." LOL ... use Sheena's potato but pop it in his mouth! Good to have ya back Jo! *hgu*<--------- Grrrrrrr *HUGS* Love Aisha.

One of them is disabled even more than I am and she can't travel well. Another is the mother of 2 small babies so that doesn't work either. It is mostly that I need the trip and the escape and then I get to visit my friends as well. But if it needs to wait until spring, then so be it! ARGHHHHH It is good to be back but I feel like I missed so much. Love you all! Jo

Hugs, ne ----Original Message Follows---- From: TediBrLuv@... Reply-egroups egroups Subject: I am back Date: Wed, 6 Sep 2000 21:38:44 EDT Hello everyone, Well I just had to delete a tone of mail. I have no idea about too much except the Urgent note about Leigh and caught me eye. Keeping them in my prayers. Well, I managed to fall and dash my head hard enough to give myself a kingsize concussion. I talked to Anne in the week hours of the night last week when I fell, just trying to make sure I was going to be okay. Thanks Anne for being there. I went to the clinic the next morning and while there for my head, my doctor was concerned about the rest of me too. Seems I was developing pneumonia. So off to the hospital I went for a few days of torture and torment. They take no chances and lock me up whenever it seems that there is anything wrong. I refer to it as The Big House, as in prison. But it helped for the pneumonia and the concussion. I came home this morning and I am still very exhausted. So I don't know how much I will be reading or responding, but I am here. Anne - thanks again for your caring and support. Guest guest
I do hope you are ok now. You can still be having affects of such a fall a couple a weeks later, so be aware of it. It's nice to see you back. You be careful now and YES torment the children, they probably well deserve it as do mine. Guest guest
Hi Pat, I'm glad you're back! I know what you mean about it being difficult to " work " with . My son Brook is the same way. Many times we have tried to work with him on this or that skill and he can be extremely uncooperative. I now just save working with him on things that " I " deem to be very important. Not what the so called specialists are asking me to do. I think we all have to be careful not to burn out as it is often so difficult just doing everything else we have to do. We have an IEP today and I'm really curious what his new teacher is going to say about him. She came for a home visit 2 days ago and has a very positive attitude about him which is nice. The only problem is that I think she overestimates what he can do sometimes. She has started telling me that Brook is saying a few words at school among other things. My husband and I are VERY skeptical about all of this because he certainly doesn't say them at home. He does make sounds that she may just want to believe are words. Well, I'd like to hear what his speech therapist has to say about it. The other good thing is that she is taking a class on augmentative communication and is going to pick a system with sound that she thinks will work for him after she finishes an assessment process on him. He still really has a hard time with pecs and the addition of sound seems to make all the difference according to his teacher. This also reinforces speech. I'm very interested in this and hope it really works for him. Presently they are using a macaw at school. She is using concepts that are way too abstract for him though like days of the week on it. He wouldn't have a clue what Monday is. He needs pictures on it that he understands like his normal routine, food, bath, outdoors, TV, car, etc. Well, hopefully we can get this all taken care of once we determine which communication device will work best for him. The one she has in mind costs $125. and he can carry it around in a fanny pack. Marisa Mom to Miles 13, Brook 10 and Gennie

Stress and life just seemed to have gotten in the way. I ended up going through an upper and lower GI but they did not find anything. So they are saying it is nerves. Gee 3 teenagers why should I be nervous. New to my life I have 2 grandchildren on the way, one in September one in October. The one in September is 95% chance of being a boy. I will find out tomorrow what the other one will be I hope. Well not much else I hope all are well and pain free.
Guest guest
Joyce I remember you. It is good to hear from you too. I haven't lost all my weight either. I have lost about 110 depending on the day but have another 100 to go and think it will take a revision to get there. A LOT of us are in that boat. Still...I am delighted that I had the surgery and would rather need a revision that have lost TOO much...Anyway, I am glad to hear from you but can't believe you are moving to NEW YORK from BEAUTIFUL< WONDERFUL KENTUCKY...Do you still hear from ? I have lost touch with her. How is she doing? I am back Hello all....I don't know if you remember me but I had my surgery on July 19th 2000....My computer broke in December so I haven't been able to post to the list for along time. Well everything is going fine with me. The weight loss isn't what I wanted at almost a year later but I guess I will have to be happy with it. I have lost only 65 pounds in a year. I would like to have a revision done.I have missed the group and hearing how everyone is doing so I am glad to be back on. My old name used to be RobandJoyplus4. Have a great day.
