Guest guest
Apolactoferrin is the iron depleted form of it. This is what has shown effective antipathogenic activity against many pathogens. Candida can feed on Iron like bacterias do. Most Lactoferrin supplements don't say anything about it. I emailed Jarrow Formulas asking if their Lactoferrin is the Apo version and got an answer confirming it. Lactoferrin binds to Iron in the gut and transports it to the bloodstream. I think there is only one product labels as a Apo-Lactoferrin from Life Extension. . > > Why is apolactoferrian better? Guest guest
Sorry, I forgot to tell you that Apo-Lactoferrin lower the Iron Levels and Lactoferrin rises it. . > > Why is apolactoferrian better? Guest guest
, If you need Iron, you should take it. Lentils, Spinach, Liver are good source of it. Bacterial Biofilms use Iron to create their Matrix, so it is better to avoid it if you don't need it. > > > > Why is apolactoferrian better? Guest guest
Margaret, You should email the Lab which makes the Lactoferrin you are taking to know if it is Apo-Lactoferrin or not. Some times they label the product as Lactoferrin when in fact is Apo-Lactoferrin. This is the case of Jarrow Formulas. Its Lactoferrin is Apo- Lactoferrin but it isn't labeled that way. If you are low in Iron take Lactoferrin, no Apolactoferrin. I hope this helps you. > > > > , please help me out here-- > I am taking Nutricology Laktoferrin and Symbiotics Colustrum with > Laktoferrin----are either of these the apo laktoferrin.......????? > this opened up a whole can of worms for me..... > I've been using Laktoferrin for about 10 mos. now---in that time my iron > levels are LOW, LOW, LOW...to the point of lowering my already hypo > thyroid......I'm trying desperately to raise my iron levels taking lots of iron, > but just got the tests back and they are still too low and my thyroid is very > hypo....... > ALL THIS TIME I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY MY IRON IS SO LOW---never had a > problem like this....please help..... > > Blessings, Margaret > > > > >
Guest guest
thanks , I've emailed Symbiotic's about the apo, hopefully they will reply although it's been few days....One more question please, what kind of Laktoferrin are you taking that isn't APO, just so I can have a reference in case I don't get answer from Symbiotic's and want to buy.....?? Guest guest
Margaret, Unfortunately, what I am taking is Apo-Lactoferrin from Jarrow Formulas because what I am looking for is antifungal effects, and the Apo-version is better for it. To rise the Iron levels and also get some anti-pathogenic effects, you should take any which be Lactoferrin with Iron. Remember, Apo means the iron depleted form. . > > > > thanks , I've emailed Symbiotic's about the apo, hopefully they will > reply although it's been few days....One more question please, what kind of > Laktoferrin are you taking that isn't APO, just so I can have a reference > in case I don't get answer from Symbiotic's and want to buy.....?? > > Blessings, Margaret > A man is what he thinks about all day long...Great men are they who see > that the spiritual is stronger than any material force, that thoughts rule > the world.... > Ralph W. Guest guest
, My doctor said I am somewhat low on iron, have major fatigue, and have thyroid trouble, so he wants me to take iron pills. I'm afraid this is going to make the candida worse - would you suggest taking lactoferrin with the iron pills? Thanks, In a message dated 8/20/2010 2:56:28 P.M. Guest guest
thanks again ----I'm really having a challenge with this supplement because I love taking Laktoferrin and colostrum--haven't been sick, feeling GREAT since I started taking them..........However---the problem area is my thyroid and low iron, which inhibits thyroid med absorption...long story about how I screwed up with thyroid--stopped on my own, big mistake! the part that is the challenge is supplements which deplete the iron I'm trying to build---iron binding I think they call it.........I need the iron for my thyroid meds to work best--that's another subject altogether, but I know this........ I wrote Symbiotic's about apo Laktoferrin, but no reply yet---have been taking Nutricology Laktoferrin but going to stop that and switch to just the colostrum I've been taking, Symbiotic's Colostrum Plus..... Since you mentioned taking Laktoferrin w/iron, do you know of a brand......??
