Guest guest
The doc prescribed LamisilAF for hubby & son. The price was $12 for the tiny tube.......but hey, it works! Also, spray the shower/tub with bleach-water after every use, remember the shower curtain. Also, if you have a mat/towel, hang it to dry & spray the floor in front of the shower/tub. Wash socks in hot-bleach water, also sheets. Let feet dry totally after a shower. Wear sandals often. Spray mattress & carpet w/ Lysol-type spray that says 'disinfects' Alternate wearing shoes, they take 24 'solid' hours to dry after wearing. Dry from top to bottom...you don't want the athlete's foot to migrate 'up' via the towel. Wash towel in hot bleach water......does wonders for the black towels!!!!! Start fresh with 2 new pair of shoes & socks. (I know, that is not always affordable, it is what they suggested) If you go somewhere & have to use a public shower, take the Lysol (or bleach water) with you & spray before showering. Wear those cheap thongs in the shower & spray them afterwards w/ the Lysol or bleach water & let dry. Let me tell you, I do now! We all caught that crap from a camp out-situation thing we went to. Oh, man it was awful! Ummmmmmm, that is all I can think of for the moment. My best to you. Karyn Would anyone care to share their experiences with treatments for athletes foot? I am getting desperate! nne in PA
Guest guest
http://www.naturesflavors.com/eucalyptus.html says, Home Uses: Skin: Eucalyptus is very effective in curing athlete's foot and most other fungal infections, as well as aiding with dandruff and herpes. It is also often used on cuts, scabs, and wounds. As mentioned before, it is becoming more and more popular as an insect repellent. Eucalyptus Oil should NEVER be put directly on the skin. It should always be mixed with another oil. Serious burning can occur from direct concentrated contact. __________ http://www.hairsite.com/_disc155/00000002.htm says, Cool it with green tea! It means that topical application of chilled green tea onto your scalp is extremely effective. You may ask if the green tea is good for drinking , not for topical use. OK gentlemen, throw away such a gumption! According to Japanese folklore medicine, green tea is used for curing athlete's foot. Three days are said to be enough to annihilate it, if you put socks with green tea leaves in them. So strong is the power of anti-fungus of tea ______________________ Allspice is an anti fungal, I read where it is suggested to sprinkle some in your shoes. _______________________ http://www.pslgroup.com/dg/1cedfa.htm says, Novartis Consumer Health announced the launch of a new Desenex® (undecylenic acid, compound) product, Desenex Max Cream. The Desenex product portfolio, which consists of all prescription-strength antifungal products, now includes a cream containing a powerful ingredient that most other athlete's foot brands do not have. Because of this ingredient, it takes fewer applications of Desenex Max to cure each athlete's foot outbreak. It would take 3 comparably-sized tubes of Tinactin® (tolnaftate) or Lotrimin® (clotrimazole) AF to get the curing power of just one tube of new Desenex Max for athlete's foot between the toes _______________________ A friend of mine---and I in *no* way recommend this---pour straight bleach on his feel once after saying he just couldn't stand it any more, he left it on for about 15 minutes. The then took a shower, and just let the running water rinse his feet. Later, his feet peeled badly, but he had no more problems with athlete's foot!! *HTH* Karyn
Guest guest
Would anyone care to share their experiences with treatments for athletes foot? I am getting desperate! nne in PA Hi nne, Try this recipe - found out the following url: http://www.monmouth.com/~mystify/mystify8.htm All Natural Athletes Foot Soak 2 Tbs. Sea Salt 2 Tbs. Corn Starch 1 Tbs. Baking soda 1 Tsp. Kaolin Powder 4 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil Mix all powder together, add to warm water and mix well, add tea tree oil by the drops. I will let you know that tea tree is very strong in smell. It has antiseptic qualities. My husband suffers from athletics' foot due to the fact he wear dress shoes and non absorbing socks each day. He has been to different doctors who prescribe all kinds of creams. This is the only thing that helps. A note of caution, this will burn in the beginning if your have open sores but after the initial burning it is very soothing. After soaking dry feet very well and use an absorbent powder or corn starch, keeping your feet dry helps combat flair ups.
Guest guest
Good Morning! The simplest way to rid one's self of athlete's foot is to apply tea tree EO directly to the affected area. I use a cotton bal saturated with Tea Tree Eo. Guest guest
> Would anyone care to share their experiences with treatments for athletes > foot? I am getting desperate! > > nne in PA nne, Neem oil is excellent for Athletes foot. I combined one ounce neem with one ounce jojoba, to which I added equal amounts lavendar eo, tea tree eo, eculyptus eo,lemon eo, 1/2 a part clove eo. The smallest possible dilution rate since I did not want to experience any type of sensitation rate. In two weeks time my feet were cured. I highly recommend it. I've also read that geranium oil is great also but I've personally never tried it. HTH.
