Guest guest
I'm so jealous of everyone getting better. Every email I see someone is feeling so good. I continue to decline in my health and it sucks. I feel like I only had mine for 3 years and I too should be somewhat better by now, 1 1/2 years after explant. I'm so happy that there's so many people getting well, it's just so depressing to be deteriorating like this at 30. They keep finding so many more medical problems with me. ......just feeling sorry for myself....thanks for listening. Shirley
Guest guest
Hey girl, hang in there, I am 32(although i am not as sick as you), i am really ill also..consider myself disabled at this point..and have been for 15 months..i too am young and i can relate..i only had my implants in for 2 years, and yes alot of damage is done here also..i have been explanted 6months, and believe(as far as myself), the damage is already done.My theroy is, it is like smoking cigarettes and getting lung cancer..then stopping...the lung cancer does not go away...I have cfs, irritable bowel..( i deal with like 15 crazy-debilitating symptoms a day)you name it...and now I just have to pray and heal..and try different alternatives, and keep positive(easier said than done-sometimes i hate when people tell me that)..anyway, i just wanted to let you know you are not alone......and yes i know it sucks...as i used to be EXTREMLY active, and athletic....and now i am living like i am 120 years old.....I don't think this letter will make you feel better, but just wanted to tell you , you are not alone girl.....and hang in there, I will say a prayer for you tonite, when i go to sleep...... Guest guest
Oh, Shirl, How I wish I could make all this go away....just remember though, if it gives you any hope, that at 18 months post explant, there were still many times that I felt I was dying...I still felt so poisoned and toxic. It got to the point that I put up a tent out in our backyard and slept outside in the fresh air, because I thought my house was making me sick as well. Trying to go shopping at Target was miserable. I would get inside and feel so sick I just wanted to turn around and go back home. It was after my series of fasts in the fall of 1999 that I started to really come around. Are your blood tests still coming up normal? Everything shows OK? Your liver looking good, too? Is is just the stomach and digestive things that are giving you the most trouble? You said they are finding so many more medical problems with you--what are they finding? I know you are a skinny minny, so fasting is probably not a great thing for you to tackle, but how about a program of cleansing and rebuilding? Go for the colon cleansing, with enemas and juice fasts if possible for a week, then spend 7 weeks building up your cellular health. Then do another week of cleansing and another 7 weeks of rebuilding. Do this as a program. Borrow Dr. Jensen's book from the library if you have to, or buy it, but read this book "Dr. Jensen's Guide to Better Bowel Care: A Complete Program for Tissue Cleansing through Bowel Management. " I think this is a key area. I only offer these ideas as a possible goal for yourself. I don't know what the doctors are telling you, and by all means, follow their directions if they are working well with you and being helpful. I sure wish you could somehow work with Dr. Kolb, though. I would think that she would have some ways of testing you and getting you on something that may be what you're missing. I sure hope you find something here in our suggestions that will help you out girl. I am praying for you.... Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: shg713@... Guest guest
Hi Patty. Yep, All my blood work is still normal. I would love to do the juice fasting, I enjoyed it last year when I did it. But now raw veggies and juice tears my stomach up. I can handle some fruit. My diagnosis as of now are fibromyalgia, gastroparesis (which is paralysis of the stomach muscles), severe acid reflux, poor bladder emptying and low BP. My GI doc is referring me to Shands Hospital for my stomach motility. My stomach barely works at all and he's real concerned about it. It will take me months to get in and get a referral. I'm going back to the rheumy tomorrow, wish me luck. Thanks everyone for the responses and support. Shirley
Guest guest
Shirl, Here is one more suggestion that you might want to try for your digestive system. Slippery Elm bark is an herb that you can get in powder form at the health food stores. You should be able to buy it in a bulk powder. This herb is a great one for the digestive tract. It is a soothing nutritive demulcent for sensitive or inflamed mucous membrane linings. It is gentle and easily assimilated, according to my herb book. One of the ladies on the candida list buys this in great amounts and suggests making a pudding out of it. She has often stated that she and her family eat this all day long this way, and have done this for a long time with wonderful results. She doesn't say how it tastes, but pudding doesn't sound too bad! They mix it with juice. I just called my local health food store, and they said they have a 16 ounce bag of it for about $17. I think I will run down there and buy it and give it a shot. I hope you can find it and give it a try too. It sounds like it might be soothing for you, and give your digestive system a chance at some healing. Let me know if you find it helpful! Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: shg713@... Guest guest
Hello everyone. I went to the rheumy today. He definitely thinks I'm in the first stages of Scleroderma. I think I'm a bit further along then that. He gave me a script for minocycline, which is supposed to help stop the process of Scleroderma. He said that it could take months to see an improvement. I'm hoping it will help and then I won't need to be on anything. I didn't tell him about the implants cause I figured he'd look at me like I crazy like all the rest. Well, I'm not happy about Scleroderma but I hope this medicine helps. I'm just in so much pain these days...and can't eat hardly anything. Thanks everyone for listening..... Guest guest
I haven't looked into that Patty. I think I read an email about it one time from someone. I don't know if I can afford it. I can't afford much to help me get well. Well, my fiance (our only income) just came home very depressed this morning. He works night shift. They are thinking of closing his company down in the next month. I don't know what we'll do. We'll figure something out. I did get my car paid off finally Patty. Guest guest
Shirley, I am so sorry to hear this.....have you checked into the possibility of using antibiotic IV's along with Megavitamin and mineral IV therapy? Check out Prof. Garth Nicolson's site. He has been working with Dr. Kolb. http://www.immed.org/index.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: shg713@... Guest guest
It's funny you mention that about social security because I already applied and got turned down. I got my letter yesterday that says "I'm not disabled" under their standards. I called a lawyer and have an appointment this week to see if there's anything he can do for me. Guest guest
Shirl, Bummer about your fiance's job prospects...it seems that those who can least stand the stress of life get dealt some huge blows...and I feel so bad for you. Glad your car is paid off, though! That is a relief! Shirley, have you thought about getting on disability yet? I know that is a big step to take, and an unpleasant prospect, but it would seem to me that with your doctor working with you, you have a good case to show that you are unable to work at this time, and maybe Social Security Disability will get you through the rough spots. If you do decide to consider this avenue, you might want to write Ilena's group and see what the other women who have gone this route have done to get approval in a reasonable amount of time. Getting some help with the money situation might let you get some of these treatments that can help you get over this hump. I will never give up faith that you are going to get better someday soon. Guest guest
Hey Shirley, I hope the lawyer can do something for you. I would still suggest writing a post to Ilena's group about the social security disability thing---there have been many women who have gone through it already, and I guess there are some special tricks that you have to use to get around their strict rules, but it can be done--you might want to see what some of the women have to say about it. I was thinking there had been some posts not too long ago about it...and maybe they can give you some tips on what to look for in your lawyer as well. Let us know how it turns out. Sorry you already had the first go round and it didn't work out... Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: shg713@... Guest guest
Attorney, Getti, has a good website on disability benefits at www.dassca.com . Once I gave my case to a Disability Attorney, Coates & Todd, in the Dallas area, mine was approved the 2nd time around, and they filled out much of my paperwork, etc. Legitimate Disability Legal Specialists know how to get it approved, and the maximum they are allowed by law to charge is 25% to a maximum of $4,000 -- whichever is less. Their services are well worth the $4,000! Please stay in touch! Guest guest
Thanks for the info Martha, I'll check it out. I'm going on fibromyalgia and Scleroderma diagnosis. I'm not saying anything about the implants causing this. I thought that wasn't smart because I figured they might deny it. I don't know why but I just thought it might scare them.
