Guest guest
My understanding is that kefyr is a lactose-fermenting yeast...used in making yogurt and cheese. It is showing up more frequently. I had geotrichum in my intestines. It is in the same class of lactose-fermenting yeasts....usually only AIDS patients have problems with geotrichum, but I ate mozerella cheese frequently at the farmer's market. Diet and diflucan improved my life quickly. Joan candidiasis From: ltranchitella@... Date: Fri, 8 Jan 2010 19:10:45 +0000 Subject: Diagnosed with Candida Kefyr Hello, I am new to the forum. My gynecologist called yesterday with the results of a vaginal culture and she said it is candida kefyr. She is not familiar with it, says it's rare, and is sending me to an infectious disease doctor for treatment. She said it is usually found in the lungs. Needless to say I am a bit freaked out. Before the holidays I was on a fairly strict anti-fungal diet and taking several supplements, but over the holidays, ate everything (still mostly organic, but lots of cheese, mushrooms, bread, etc..) and drank a lot of red wine. I have read on this forum that Helios Kefir has candida kefyr in it. I'm wondering if the strain they found in me is a good strain? This is so confusing. I am taking several probiotics, but not drinking Kefir. Does anyone have any experience with this? _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with Microsoft’s powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/196390706/direct/01/
Guest guest
Thanks very much. Are you on the no-dairy, no sugar anti-fungal diet? And did you take one course of diflucan? I understand the anti-fungal meds are really hard on the liver. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Diagnosed with Candida Kefyr Hello, I am new to the forum. Guest guest
I eat very carefully on the anti-fungal diet. I did eight weeks of diflucan along with diet and supplements. I have continuing malabsorption problems because my yeast was intestinal. My liver did fine with the anti-fungals....what people forget is that candida is also very hard on the liver with all its waste products. The diflucan was a Godsend to me...diarrehea stopped in three days. I have never been able to eat dairy since. Gluten is OK for me in small amounts. Joan > > Thanks very much.
