Guest guest
I have been waiting for this topic of coconut oil to come up. I have seen this so many time over the years in the clinic and with my personal experience. The short term use of coconut may be beneficial to cut down on the candida over growth, but the long term is disbiosis and malnutrition, which is the cause of the grey, which is a sign of mineral deficiency. The coconut oil also causes a similar effect on the skin. Several clients with long wavy hair talked me into using the oil on my hair. After a time of about 6 months I noticed my hair falling out in large numbers, so I questioned them on that and they were noticing the same thing. After a bit of research, I found out the coconut oil was actually clogging the pores and causing the root to die. In my opinion, the coconut oil is doing the same thing in the GI tract. Recently I have had several clients and customers with this question about coconut oil and their problem has been mostly diarrhea while using coconut oil and after stopping the use of the oil the diarrhea slowly dissipates. Guest guest
Just a different view on the coconut oil issue because I've had different results. I began taking I Tbs per day just over a year ago and increased the amount to 5-7 Tbs daily internally and occasionally applied externally on the skin. I've only experienced positive results and I do believe that my hair has actually become a little thicker. After the first three weeks of consuming it, there was a noticeable increase in energy and it continues to this day. Also, it has taken care of athlete's foot fungus and with doing oil pulling, it has healed my gums and taken away tooth pain when it felt like one was trying to abscess. It has not caused any digestive stress whatsoever and in fact, at times, when I eat too much sweet pastry like donuts etc., and an hour or so later I might get some heartburn or acidy feeling, I'll take 1 or 2 Tbs and the symptoms are relieved. By the way, I don't react negatively to Inulin either. I guess we can all be different. Regards, Craig
Guest guest
Wil, I would like to see some scientific tests to prove that it has ill effects other than greying of the hair. I am not saying you have not seen bad results, nor arguing just would like something concrete to go on. If I knew it was a superfood I might even accept the grey hair since I am 63 already. One thing that I am concerned about is I upped the amount I put on my skin last night and it seemed like I had unexplained mental upheaval the next morning. At first I attributed it to consecutive bad nights of sleep or reaction to the whole grains, rice and garbanzo beans I ate all in one day. Later today I told myself that might have been the coconut oil as I have never experienced that before and I have been taking by mouth the coconut oil for 3-4 months. I was wondering if for some reason the effect of the transdermal had a bigger impact. Guest guest
Doug, I would lean more to the toxins from the carb intake having an effect of the electrical system and your body than the oil on the skin. I am not able to find any scienctific information regarding the effects of the oil like I am stating, I am stating facts from a friend in New Zealand from his clinic and my own clinical and personal experience here in the States regarding the use of coconut oil. I can say from using it in massage, if the oil is left on the skin and not washed of I have seen fungal infections develop in the under arms and groin areas. So with my experiences and research I am quite skeptical of the overall benefit of the oil. It is leading me to believe it is just another attempt at exploiting a natural resource which is harming the environment and humans to make money. Guest guest
Oh wow am I dumbfounded!! I have been using coconut oil (Tropical Traditions) for over a year now after some friends who had incredible benefits from using it told me about it. I read much online about all the outstanding benefits of ingesting and topically applying. I have not heard of one instance like this list has reported the past few days -- graying your hair?? Causing dysbiosis?!!!! Can this all be substantiated??? It obviously does not adversely affect everyone who uses it, MANY report only good news of its use. Have extensive tests been done to see why it sooooo awfully affects a sector of users???? Thanks, dorothy > > From: Wil Spencer <wilspencer@rocketma il.com> > Subject: Re: Cocunut oil by mouth only-grey hair > candidiasis > Date: Monday, January 25, 2010, 9:20 PM > > > > I have been waiting for this topic of coconut oil to come up. > > I have seen this so many time over the years in the clinic and with my personal experience. Guest guest
Hello Everyone! I had been using daily coconut oil (2-4 T) for over a year. I love(d) the taste and I thought it was good for me. Sometime, after I started using C.O. I started getting diarrhea. After some months of this and not figuring it out, I started getting some products from Wil. I really like them! The diarrhea barely slowed down, though. One day I called Wil to ask about a course of action. I ran out of coconut oil THAT DAY. TWO DAYS later, before I could implement Wil's suggestions, the diarrhea stopped! Bad winter weather had prevented me from going to the health food store. I thought hmmmmmmmmmm... Out of habit, I took some more coconut oil, and it started again! I knew for sure that it was the coconut oil. I put it in my cabinet. Muysana

Guest guest
Doug, I am not sure at all how to prevent the greyness, as I have not dealt with that. Topically I put about half a handful on my face & throat at night, and often use the same on the feet, etc. I say just use a generous amount and let it get absorbed in.
