Guest guest
I am so happy to have found this group, after suffering alone with this condition for so many years. No one else in my life has a candida problem, or seems to even understand it. I have so many questions to ask you all, but I'll only ask them one at a time, so as to not overwhelm everyone. My first question is: What caused your candida problem? Even if it just a line or two, I hope many of you will share your story. As I wrote in my introduction, what caused mine was years of tetracycline and amoxicillin used to treat acne. I have never been healthy since. Guest guest
I don't know which came first or what caused what but I had a misdiagnosed thyroid problem (Hashi's). I say misdiagnosed because the regular doctors were misreading my symptoms and labs (Finally an Endo dx it and got me on some meds). Before that, I would combat my fatigue with massive amounts of coffee and sugar to get through the day. I tried soy also which made things worse. I was also working 3 jobs and going to school full time, which resulted in junk food drive thrus and no sleep marathons. All were tragic combinations. In addition to diet modifications..now pursuing deficiencies in adrenals, iron, D3... Jen > > I am so happy to have found this group, after suffering alone with this > condition for so many years. Guest guest
Thanks for the response, Jen. Now that you're on medication, modifying your diet, and taking better care of yourself overall -- do you feel like you're beating the candida problem? Guest guest
Yes actually. I feel better and my digestion is better. My weight is holding, not going up anymore. I still have a ways to go with the gut though because I still have the apple shaped stomach. I sometimes have a relapse of symptoms if I indulge in sugars/breads but the response is not a big as before and I can recover more easily now by resuming a healthy diet. Side note.. someone here suggested a while back that skin candida rashes could be treated with Seabreeze. I did try it and it worked like a charm. Thanks, Jen > > Thanks for the response, Jen.
