Has anyone taken this supplement that has lupus, or a high ana titer?

I have been reading about a study that shows that it is proven to

help relieve many of the lupus symptoms including cognitive

disfunction. Have you tried this one Patty? I am thinking I might

give it a shot now that I feel I am looking at a probable lupus

diagnosis. Maybe my titer will go back down but the jump for 1:40 to

1:160 with speckled pattern is consistent with autoimmune disease and

lupus. I am sad, but taking it well, I mean either way the implants

had to go, and I know they did this to me, I was too healthy before I

got them. They set off something that I may in all likely hood be

dealing with for the rest of my life, that is very scary at 36 years

old.

Thanks for any info anyone can dig up.

Hi ,

My naturopath in Tucson put me on DHEA after a saliva hormone test showed I

had lowered hormonal acitivity in the afternoon around 4 pm. He gave me

that along with Isocort. I quit taking after awhile, as I wanted to go off

all supplements, and I don't know if I took it long enough to know if it was

making a difference. I was 38 years old at the time.

However, I am taking it again. I am now 41, and the current thought is that

those over 40 just don't make enough DHEA. It is the precursor to our other

hormones. I am not certain of the biologic processes involved, so I won't

get technical, but I have not noticed any side effects. It is not

recommended to go about 50 mg, I believe.

I currently take Solaray's DHEA with MexiYam, which provides 25 mg DHEA and

370 mg Mexican Yam root, once a day.

I am so sorry to hear of your blood work. Stay positive, though, I know

other women who have gotten a diagnosis at around 3 months post-explant who

have gone on to get 95% better. One got a positive scleroderma test at 3

months post op. Talk about scary! She is no longer on the support group,

but the last letter I got from her said she was almost totally back to

normal with no scleroderma signs.
